Those screenshots make me nervous.

Microphones are tricky, because in many cases they simply don't work with your computer no matter how you try. I have tried various head-sets/microphones on several computers, and they work pretty randomly, often without showing conflicts with other hardware or programs.

Also, you mention literature of the past as inspirational. Consider current day literature, such as Geoff Ryman's "253", which is a hypertext novel.

http://www.ryman-novel.com/

Consider how this is uses more complex functions than literature of the past.

Literature of the past? I meant contemporary literature as well. As long as it's "good" :)

Also, sure, that hyper-text novel seems nifty and all. But seriously, is that a modern-day, mainstream media among people of today? I'm not against new media, I'm against young people wasting away watching and reading popcorn pulp shit crap. If people can find alternatives to reading books, then be my guest. But that link of yours seems a tad far-fetched imho.

Why do you put Castro and Chavez in the same category as Hitler, Stalin and Pinochet? I mean, let's call spade a spade here. Ideologies put aside, these people don't play in the same ballpark when it comes to what they've done and represented. Quite appalling comparison, frankly.

Western, capitalistic, Christian countries always manage to pin-point in what name a certain atrocity or failure is/was carried out, as long as it's not their own.
If there is a war with a religious pretext going on, they can specify that it's a matter of islamic fundamentalism. If a far-away nation is opressing their people, they can blame the socialist regime.

To me, much of what has led to the situation of the world today, with unbalanced distribution of natural resources (due to colonies in the past, globalisation, out-sorucing etc), global warming and pollution, and the majority of all wars, can without hesitation be blamed on Western, Christian Capitalism. Then why don't we say that capiltalism is fundamentally flawed? Why don't we say "capitalism is good in theory, but hasn't worked in reality"?

When millions of people are starving to death in Africa, it's because they can't control their own products, their own market or their own resources (there are plenty of food and water, just not properly distributed).

I've never doubted that computers makes you more intelligent, it's more the cultural competence I'm afraid people are missing out. Reading books and magazines, historical, cultural or fictional, adds a dimension to your mind that soap operas or shoot 'em ups probably don't.
Learning stuff and developing takes a certain amount of effort, whereas the passtime of too many people, especially young people, tends to be rather effortless, in the direction of the vegetable.
I just know that when I read great novels, I get a particular kind of inspiration that is more or less vital for my survival. I become encouraged, provoked, to think, instead of just catered for my immediate desire to make the time go faster. I sincerely believe, with the risk of sounding like your fathers, that reading good literature and taking long walks will make experience a magic flow inside of you that can't be compared to 24/7 playing of WoW.

Boring. American football sucks. I bet Hitler played a lot of american football.

How's that for making the thread controversial?

You have managed to accentuate exactly those things that make a face look african. Especially the nose has a bit too much flesh. Also, try softening the eye brushes and instead add make-up around the eyes (and add some lashes).
Moreover, the hair is good except for where it's attached to her forehead, which is just plain wrong and make her look like a cheap doll.
Overall the portrait is nice though.

I think the whole new trend displays a sincere lack of human respect. If there wasn't an interest among people in general to see other human beings being harassed, abused or just made fun of in all possible aspects, these sites wouldn't exist.
In Sweden there was recently a case of a girl murdering the assaulter of her younger brother, after a video of said assault had been published on youtube (the video was then removed after intervention from swedish authorities).
I can't imagine how I would feel watching somebody I know - or myself for that matter - being made entertainment for the cynical public eye.
People have always been perverted in the sense that they've enjoyed watching torture (just think of the middle ages with public executions etc), but civilization has sort of surpressed that tendency. The recent video clip fad has brought us back hundreds of years, in that respect.

Love the gfx, top notch. The first comic was far the best imo. The anti-climax with the inflatable doll worked well, as well as the punch-line.
I think you need to vary the style of humour a bit, though. Right now all of them seem to be based on the sudden switch to very coarse language...I mean, soon you'll expect him to say something outrageous, and then the homour won't work at all.

EDIT:
Through DG's link I found this

It's mostly a pile of psychedelic junk, but there are a few gems. The first panels with Garfield have been deprived of Garfield's responses, just to make Jon appear even more pathetic and mentally challenged.
Also, halfway down you'll find SITUATION 81 which is quite hilarious imo.
The rest probably needs a sort of acquired taste.

You've already made a thread about this, which was removed. Please refrain from starting new threads until you've come up with something relevant and useful to say.

I actually play WoW a bit, although it takes me ages to level up.
I tried Guild wars some year ago, but it was way too linear and restricted. There were way too many immature kids in guild wars, far worse than wow. In my wow-guild most players are around 25, some over 30, and many of them have partners and families. I will buy TBC whenever I get money and opportunity.

It looks a lot like a simplified versions of any of the french/belgian comics from the 60's and 70's. Like Peyo or Uderzo, for instance.

Women are still a mystery to me.
And still you were engaged to a girl (if I remember correctly) when you were like 17...that tells something.

Hehe, sorry I'm just messing around.

Look, I'm a lot like you: http://blastedchild.livejournal.com/
yay I made a blog just to reach out a hand to all bloggers. Now I demand that you all become my friends!

I spent a couple of days at his appartment-o-love in New York City. We went to karaokee, had pizza and tried on hats at street markets.

Well, I never said we should arrest all blog-writers without a trial, and place them in secret prisons in Europe. OR DID I? Of course people are free to write those blogs, but I don't really see who'll have time to read them when everybody's busy writing their own blogs.

Anyhow.
Anarcho, I totally dig Dune too. It's so wonderfully absurd you just gotta love it. And all those pompous quotes...man it's good.
#2819
Yes I am. I'm refuting the claim that you're actually female.
j/k, sorry for that, I hadn't read your profile.
