I love the presentation to this blitz, so I whipped this up just to kickstart the competition a bit:

Erenan, hm, with the only exception that this thread is like 5 pages long and full of people who don't normally bother to argue about things.
I agree with DG that this issue has resulted in disproportional amounts of polemics and strange reactions. People seem to take this gender issue extremely seriously, that's quite evident.
Unlike DG, though, I find it pretty interesting and sort of nice that people debate it.

Jess made me get it!

I don't post about my life, just comics!

Well, comics about my life... But they're funny!

"Laugh damnit, I'm funny" haha.
Seriously though, I enjoyed the parts where you actually wrote about your life more than your comics, like the episode with Wonka and the coincidental meeting with a stranger in cyberspace, things like that intrigue me. The comics were good too, but the style isn't my personal favourite.

The problem with blogs is that way too many people have one, and way too few are anything more than self-absorbed pretentious comedian-wannabe/emo ramblings.

u1bd2005, Are you sure you're talking about the right guy? SilverTrumpet's sprite has way higher resolution than 100x100.

Please stop whining. You're like one of those kids who don't wanna play anymore when the other kids have made much nicer lego-cars.
You dished out a majorly debatable topic and it's bound to develop along the way. Not that much, though.
Start a blog if you wanna keep your opinions neat and tidy and protected.

Victor, seriously, how big a point is that? Nationality-based groups are mostly a gimmick and a way to express some sort of nationalistic pride. It's not like being able to community in your own language will help making the best game ever, especially since all terms and tech-talk will be in English anyway.

The thread-topic is actually a bit intruiging, for two major reasons:
1. Most games out there have a very male (especially male adolescent) viewpoint
2. Games made by women (Mom's quest, cirque the soleil for instance) have mostly been very good and original.

Generally I don't support this sort of grouping, but the gaming industry is so extremely male-dominated that a certain amount of gender-thinking may prove fruitful.

Just to prevent this thread from being another simple chat-outlet I recommend the following standard:
1. All posts must start with "today"
2. Posts must be personal and diary-shaped, no "lol @ post above"
3. No birthday greetings or other stuff that can be covered in other threads

carry on :)

I am just wondering how somebody like that is dealt with? I know all of his trolling and offensive posts are deleted, but what actually happens to the poster. I know that people never get banned around here, but does he get a warning from CJ, or does he put a block on his IP address. Even after a few hours of him posting crap, he was still online.

Like i said, just wondering.

Proper members don't get banned just like that, as you mention, but in cases of clear-cut spamming we may resolve to that

I refuse to delete my pm's, as they bring sweet memories from the past. I tend to delete technical or moderating issues though.
Nik; I can personally ensure you that there is no limit at 500 either, so don't worry :)

Just read that Steve's fans have been mutilating those stingrays and cut their tails off.
Steve would've been so proud of his avenging followers.

Well good luck.
Most of your threads so far have been about sex and hypnotising women and magically reading their minds. I hope you'll use all of your superpowers to make sure the kid turns out sane and happy.

With "nightmare", do you mean a nightmare to work in, or with nightmare-ish results? I believe having Hitler or Satan leading your teams may at least ensure ambitious projects with huge budgets.

Jesus, if there's anything more boring that those long angst-venting teenage rants, it's these subsequent apologetic bitter-sweet ramblings. Just stop. Stop waste forum space. Apologise by stepping back a bit and let more interesting threads stay on the first page.

When you do, take some time and upgrade Gilbot, he's got a lot of bugs lately

Well the dictionary became more or less obselete after the implementation of the ags Wiki, which is, now that you mention it and I come to think of it, a crying shame. The dictionary had entries sorted by nothing more than the alphabet and my personal whims and fancy, whereas the Wiki is more or less sorted by how often the person treated in the article clicks their own link to make it appear on top of the list.
The academy itself died after DG lost interest in it and turned to his second favourite hobby; strangling animals with leather neckties.
All of the above is based on facts and/or rumours.

Yeah! We are working in that, and we might need help...

At the moment we only have static sprites for Chrille, Blazej, Ryan and CJ...

PM me or m0ds if you can animate this, or colour 320X200 BGs based on pencil sketches in DoTT style.

Thanks for the help Fluke! ^_^

That's so brilliant, I could see right away who was who. Good job!

My mental image of Steve is of him sitting on top of a crocodile or wrestling a snake. He was a great spokesperson for the nature preservation movement, as long as it involved the opportunity of himself getting to wrestle or sit on top of a giant crocodile or snake. I've always seen him saying something "I'm standing just inches away from this worlds [insert number] th deadliest animal" or "this snake could kill me in an instant", and I guess if you choose that path of life, you simply gotta accept what the end of that path is like.
Being a follower of satistics, I can't believe that Steve just had bad luck in this last adventure. As someone else pointed out; these incidents are freakishly rare, and a person who's trained with animals should be able to take appropriate measures of precaution. Steve obviously wasn't being careful enough, he probably sought out the animal, to study it, see its reactions, out of curiousity; whatever it was I don't blame him, but I'm not gonna say he didn't get what he deserved.
With his wife and children taken into account, it's naturally also a tragedy.

It looks good to me, very StS-like. Helm is probably the best one to give c&c on this kind of art, and my only piece of criticism would that you could increased the contrasts and values a bit. If you take the professionally made backgrounds in StS, you'll see that nearly every little detail has its own highlight and shadow, creating a very rich and almost phosphorescent environment.
