It's not how many partitions you have that matters, it's how big they are.
The same goes for penises.

And no, that doesn't make sense.

I hope the Eng-Swe match on Tuesday can be performed relatively civilised, as neither of the teams is desperately in need of a win.
Of course, English supporters will behave uncivilised either way

Let's all get drunk and fight instead of discussing women all the time!!1

Conversations are in the long run better for your relationship than sexual contact.

Dude, you can totally chat a relationship-would-be to death with that philosophy. Just because people need to understand eachother, care for eachother, know eachother on a deeper level and all that doesn't mean they must constantly converse. He said they haven't slept so it's not a question of going out of hand fast.
He probably needs to talk to the chef instead. The girl might be in debt somehow, emotionally or otherwise, and not in a position to tell the chef off. It's like someone's overly protective brother. The girl can't do much about it, it's either ignore or deal with the problem itself.

Yayness. Sweden beat Paraguay after an exhausting game full of almost-situations. The final goal was very pretty and well deserved.
If we can avoid losing against England we will advance.

so even if the project fails it won't all have been for nothing!

Nothing is ever made for nothing!!

There have been debates over the efficiency of our sticky threads in this forum, the Offer your Services and Recruit a team.
Maybe a thread isn't the perfect form for this kind of activity? Maybe some sort of noticeboard, where people will update their "adds" and edit or remove them accordingly.

The site could have two major departments; "Recruitment" and "Offer service". Each department will be further divided into areas such as Sprites, Backgrounds, Sound, Programming etc, which can be easily searched and browsed.
Every advertiser must update their adds regularly, or they will disappear. This will prevent lots of old junk.

The problems with the current thread-based system are:
* They are rarely browsed; the linear order makes it unlikely that people pay attention to older posts, even if they are still relevant.
* They aren't sorted by the field of activity, nor by workload or time-span.
* They cannot be easily edited, updated or removed
* Old posts are not automatically removed (the new system could update the archive e.g. every month).

Any ideas, thoughts?

Please consult this thread:

Don't start threads for individual projects or requests for assistance.
Good luck.

Good stuff. I'm glad the idea has been embraced finally :)
You have good people in the team already. Good luck!

the Czech got Nedved, who is just so ass-kickingly cool. I predict that he will win the world cup for his nation, and then go on and battle some alien invaders with a giant sword.

This might be the first mittens I miss out, in which case I demand that it will be called "pseudo-mittens" and that the only activity will be whipping your own backs with chains.

Seriously, I'd love to come but I have a domestic situation here, sort of.

There is still an issue regarding how the number of votes should be accounted for. A game with one 100% vote should hardly be higher ranked than a game with an average percentage of 85, but with 10000 votes.

AUS just beat Japan 3-1, it was 1 nil to japan until 8 mins to go, Australia had all the possession, played better all game and it paid off in the end.

Japans only goal was because they pushed the keeper out of the way, controversial, but it bit them in the but in the end, woo hoo, showing some good signs but will need to improve to beat Brazil next.

Doesn't it strike you as odd that these tiny japanese players, pushing no more than 100 pounds in average, can viciously tackle and mangle down your majestic, tall, rugby-playing brutes as if they were made of paper and porcelain? Never have I see so frail a team!

Well, it's true the aussies deserved to win anyhow.

Yeah, we played horribly. I'm ashamed.

We had practically all the opportunities, but failed to make something good of them. Pity.

lol @ Vel
The old Sweden vs. Balkan controversy.

Well, let's at least wait until we have humiliated England before we even continue this old quarrel :)

Alas, our primary goalie was injured recently, which is terrible news. Let's see what happens tomorrow...

I'm glad I left Brighton before England meets Sweden. I would totally get beaten up after Sweden's victory.

I think it's a good topic. I might give it a shot tomorrow.

This background has been treated so much I would almost suggest doing a complete revamp. Keep all the elements, but go for a totally different approach. Toss around them, alter perspective, view-points.

This picture has been beaten and battered, give it a rest now and start anew!
