The moon, up your mother's ass (Mr. Show), some parts of the Sahara and Gobi deserts...

Hm...are you suggesting that these are the only places with more freedom than the USA?
You need to travel more, matey

For one thing, in most other western nations people and media can openly criticise the government without being called unpatriotic.
I think in the states you see more of the two extremes; both the sharpest satire and the most hushing-up.

There'd have to be some sort of double-slanted hill in order to make that perspective correct, and still it would be quite strange to ask for help with perspective and not give information about this slanting.
Otherwise: What KhrisMuc said.

General Discussion / Re: my character designs

For some reason, the plot in my upcoming game is far better than any other plot I've ever seen on this forum, even the original Demo Quest (tm).
I wonder why nobody has done a plot as good as mine?
I'm not trying to brag, I'm just curious.

Yeah I read about that, it's great.
And George had to nod politely and shake hands afterwards, haha.

I'm hurt because you didn't dream about me, Farlander!

And also quite relieved.

I sort of invented "parallelometric" as a term for a view where only the front and the top of objects are seen, where there are no vanishing points and thus no proper perspective. So instead of having the axis at 30 or 45 degrees, they are completely horisontal.
I believe most classical RPG games use this view.

Ha ha, got me there.
Got all my words screwed up after a huge vocabulary exam this week. I learned like two hundred new difficult words, but forgot an equal amount of old, easy ones.

-don't use programmer's pink as a background, instead pick a more neutral color

Hm, most sprite artists use a non-neutral colour as a background, just to make sure it doesn't blend in and create glitches or transparent pixels when loaded into the sprite-manager.
Pink or very bright green are quite suitable, imo.

Hey Dan!
Your latest background looks good! I was affraid you had got stuck in some mannerism there, what with all those bluish night-scenes. Nice to see some variation.
Good luck with your project, sorry to hear about the delay!

I suggest a competition! Let's invent the most ridiculous piece of "evidence" to advocate Intelligent Design.

An example:
Quote
Imagine that you walk along a beach, and stumble across a watch, lying in the sand. Now, you don't believe that the watch came from nowhere, or was assembled sporadically by pure chance, do you? You believe that it was made by a watchmaker, don't you? Well, it's the same with the world and life on Earth.
- From a webpage about Intelligent Design.

I know, it's hard to beat this prime example of absurd reasoning, but let's try! Fun for the whole family!

Don't worry mate. Feel free to check out the threads where most newcomers introduce themselves:

You can ramble on about yourself there, but please check that your spelling and interpunction make easy reading for the rest of us :)

So next time, try to ignore the trolls. Just don't reply to them, simple as that.

And now I declare closing time on this whole issue.

Jesus, not another one. Is this condition contagious?

Planktonman, Rolf, whoever; please go away. You're not funny, only annoying.

Critics' Lounge / Re: adventure man

As cynicism struck me this morning, I'm just tempted to make this hypothesis:
What if someone started a fake account, went to the critics lounge with the intention of publishing the absolutely worst pictures ever concieved, just to check the responses?

If this is the case, I must say that I'm proud of the pedagogical spirit people here have displayed.
It proves that the quality of art can never reach the depths where CL-residents deem it not worthwile to provide useful feedback.

The first hundred jokes about me registering fake accounts for N00b charasters, yeah, I deserved it cause I was being cock with the whole Andy Penis/Nigel Manning Smith/whoever thing and yes, the jokes were funny then.

What about that Roger the Janitor guy? And the hippie character? Or were they the same?
Anyhow, I don't blame you for the impersonations you did in the past (mainly because I considered them humourous), but I also don't see how you can become upset when people make the obvious connection between alleged fake characters and yourself.
#2977
Good, good. Now, next time you post, which may hopefully coincide with the next time you actually have something important to tell the general forum, please try to use standard interpunctions instead of "...". Thank you.

Heya Anton! Long time no see. You disappeared on us, and mittens meetings were never the same again :(
I'm having a midsummer party at the cottage on Orust. It'll be the party of the year. Drop by if you're in the area.
Take care!

I think many theists did a relatively good job on arguing creationism before this absolutely inane concept of Intelligent Design came up.

To me the whole deal seems like the outcome of some corporate think-tank meeting, where fundamentalist bigwigs realised they needed something more catchy if they wanted to keep condemning gay marriage and abortions, since people started to grow pretty intelligent about the whole religion-issue whereas they did not.

I wouldn't be surprised if George Bush, after his next concluding "and may God bless America", went on with "....and here's our new logotype!", showing Intelligent Design on some bloody star-spangled banner and an eagle holding a giant brain in his claws.

Played the Swedish equivolant table top rpg when I was 12-18, apart from that I enjoyed Baldur's Gate highly.
The movie was absolutely horrible, and Neverwinter Nights was boring.

Don't know much about the mmorpg, although I'm a bit intruiged. It still doesn't strike me as the optimal mmorpg in my taste.
