The 18th is approaching!
There will be a minor party in our house on Saturday night. It would be cool if you could hang around and impress with your tales.

Heya Monkeyspank. How's life?
#3023
Fine, I'll meet you up so that you can leave your stuff and choose "beds".
My mobile number is 07733385518. Please don't call if you're a perverted stalker.

So what'ya wanna do on Saturday night?

This question originated in a debate whether one would choose extreme physical strength (to be strong like the professional strong-man competitors, yet unchanged to your appearance) or extremely intelligent.
Even though the intelligence would be much more useful, I think I would have gone for the strength.
I mean, every time you end up in a group of people who are all very dumb, you feel very awkward and depressingly alienated. To feel that all the time would probably drive a person to suicide.

The best thing with this Brighton meeting is that we finally get to see this Lo res man.

I think you're being unfair to yourself by saying that many entries were better than your own version.
Sure, as a one-page piece of comedy, probably all of them were, but as a part of a longer plot the text of one single page can be necessary but still, isolated like this, not very meaningful.

Yeah, I finally get it now.

So, anyways, superpowers.

The Helm version:
"I don't agree with you, and I'm ready to kill you because of it"

The Bruised Weasel version:
"I don't agree with you, and I'm ready to die, period."

And also that it seems to be connected with exactly that kind of twig and leaf that tomatoes come with and oranges don't?

I'm not gonna share my personal experiences, partly because Modgegulator would be annoyed (he'd probably hire a hitman if I said anything remotely similar to what Evil just said), and partly because I don't have much experience from that age.

First of all, the question is poorly phrased. A better question would be "is this girl very physically attractive?" In which case it's still hard to answer because the photo reveals little of her true appearence. Luck has to do with whether she treats you well, stays true to you, fullfills your needs, stimulates you in various ways, etc.

Apart from that, I don't think anybody has the rights to teach you what love is about, even though they might have a good point. To say that you love someone means so very very much, and it takes a lot of experience to truly know what you're actually talking about.
There is however a point somebody brought up that you need to realise, which is that she's adult and you're not, and the relationship you have is very unusual.

Whatever happens, you'll learn something from it.

That's a very tomato-looking orange, I must say.

Edit:
Helm, I thought we agreed on that I could use our collective mind this week.

I think it's already sufficiently drawn. We're talking very difficult motion animating here and Farl has done an extraordinary job.

Most players tend to place the ball rather carefully, and even though it looks like a powerful shot, that's mostly due to the short distance. As Naranjas pointed out, the player now looks like a goalie about to shoot very high and far.

Even in the animations were the leg is very extended, you need to realise that a football shot is not a karate-kick, and the leg and foot should not be stretched out in front of you, but rather in a curve, in this case moving towards the viewer.

Ghormak's version makes him land awkwardly.

In any case, the end animation of the kick is not that important, since all attention will be on the ball anyway. Which is why almost nobody knows exactly what a player looks like after having kicked the ball.

Lately we've seen like a million superhero movies in my house, since one of my house mates owns dvd's of cosmic quantities. Most of them have been of inferior quality, although I liked a few a lot.

So I have pondered much "what would my special superpower be?"
It shouldn't be too vastly omnipotent, like Superman's powers, preferably something more subtle yet very useful, maybe something you're already good at but greatly amplified.

Ideas?

Critics' Lounge / Poem

Just a little piece I wrote for an English essay. It's meant to be a kind ambulatory poem, written in strict iambic quadrameter. Being a mandatory assignment, it's nothing too personal.

CLARITY

The chilly brook behind my house
leads to a tree where ravens nest
And in the shade of solid boughs
I sometimes choose to take my rest

But not today (a day in June)
Today I need to swiftly move
By quick-paced strides I'm set in tune
and find my track, my route, my groove

For every step a thought is placed
and neatly sorted in my mind
And memories revived, retraced
allow me to in peace unwind

Some thoughts are fuelled by Intellect
- though some may need to be refined
Yet others gain from strict neglect
best left alone inside my mind

For every step another tree
- just like the rocks devoid of name -
flies by, runs by, outside of me
forgotten soon, but still the same

I pass a cottage where I stay
just briefly for a cup of tea
of camomile or plain Earl Gray
- It makes no difference to me

Then off again, to reach the lake
that constitutes my goal this day
It is on normal days opaque
from all its bottom mud and clay

But lo! Today brought clarity
as clear as thoughts and lakes can be.

Don't know where I will live by then. Chances are I go back to Sweden to work, in which case I might go with Chrille as per usual. Or I might stay in Brighton. Who knows?

Anyhow, you know I will be there somehow, spontaneously showing up with my backback when you least expect it.

Let's start arguing in this thread about freedom of speech, until we all get so heated up that someone needs to write a new "sorry, I love you, hugs" thread.

Because this is gen-gen, and that's what we do!

Nice compo, Helm, and yeah I believe it might work better to do this rarely and sporadically rather than weekly.

Many of the contributions were excellent, especially Ghormak's two entries made me laugh out loud.

How much space? Not entirely sure, depends on how uncomfortably people can sleep.
My bed is big enough for three people if they don't move and if they're pretty tired. Then we have one extra matress, and two sofas in the living room. Problem is the sofas are pretty short, and won't allow for very good sleep unless you're Candyman.
I might be able to sleep at my girl's place, although she stays with a family and they don't allow guests over night, but maybe I could sneak in and out, I don't know.

Just come, we'll sort it out somehow.
