At least I like that we have gone from
"big breasts mean nothing special, they're just big and nice and we like it that way and we're not gonna change them and they can do no harm"
- along with a lot of kids who went "yay, go for it, we like big boobs"

to
"yeah we understand the impact and the symbolic meaning of stereotypes and objectification, but we have a ulterior motive and a point of satire".

Just make sure that the satire comes across in the end, lest it will not be a satire. Only if somebody understand satire can it be called satire.

Also I agree with TIS that the extreme fascination for unnaturally over-sized (and poorly covered) boobs is a bit adolescent. Just for the record.
Anyhow, the game seems more promising with some inside info. Good luck with it.

So every time we see scantily dressed women with huge breasts, we are to presume they're a part of a thoroughly concieved agenda, designed to constitute healthy and positive role models?

That they're not just there to attract a certain audience?

Ooops, my spam guard just kicked in.

I'm all for objectification I think it's great.

Ok, thank you for letting me know where you stand.

I can't imagine what it must be like to be on the receiving end of all this stupid reactionary shit. Looking at the first post you can clearly see they were really looking for reassurance after being shocked by the negative reaction they had had elsewhere.

Reactionary shit?
Condemning John Lennon for being nude on their album cover is reactionary shit. Banning the shit-word from television is reactionary shit. Shooting doctors in abortion clinics is reactionary shit.
For all I care, we should all go around naked whenever it is warm enough. I'm a veritable hippie when it comes to liberties.

But this is a matter of objectification, and fuelling of stereotypes. Can you see the difference? Please try.
You feel sorry for these guys? Jesus, they don't even feel sorry for themselves. Just because they put a lot of effort in something doesn't mean we must praise it and appreciate it.
You're running a pretty strange case here, mister.

Woah, threads grow fast these days.

Modgegulator: I didn't mean to boast. I said that I don't have any personal preferences that make me biased against women with big breasts, for the sake of the argument.
If you think it's boasting when I state that I, being 25 years old, have been with at least one woman with big breasts and with at least one with no breasts at all, maybe you're just a bit sensitive about these things, for personal reasons. I didn't say that they were attractive, numerous, or anything like that.

The authors of the post asked for opinions, and I gave mine. Sorry if you can't handle them.

Kinoko: You seem pretty upset for no reason. I'm a bit disappointed that you failed so much to grasp my point.

I loath the stereotypes that are generated and maintained by this type of pictures. I'm not personally hurt by them. My interest in this matter isn't personal. I don't cut my arms, I don't starve myself, I don't spend money on expensive surgical operations.

Jesus, nevermind really. This topic probably isn't meant for gen-gen.

Aloha!
Any weekend in March is fine, including around the 18:th. For a hostel I recommend St. Christopher's Inn, it's the cheapest in town and you can all sleep in the same room, which would be fun in itself I guess.
For the poorest of the poor I can probably accomodate on or two people in my house.

And if anybody in interesting in going to a party with roughly 50 pretty Swedish girls aged 20-21, we could do that as well. It happens every Saturday night.

Well, just seeing you guys would be swell.

Woah, epidemic restlessness.

It's not that my life is full of entertaining and important things that crave my attention, it's just that....I'd rather just pick up a book, go for a walk, anything really except sitting in front of a monitor and play with the cursor.

I should all give you assignments.
Until next time I come by, I demand that you have all read Rosetti's "Goblin market" and tell me what you think.
This has no special purpose, but I have an analysis of this poem due Monday, and I intend to plagiarise whatever you say about it.

Hahaha, I'm such a pretentious prick.
Good luck ya'll :)

It's quite interesting that some people try make this a non-topic. As if it was all about discriminating large-breasted women for no reason at all. Grow up.

Every topic of a debate can after a while be accused of being blown out of proportion, but some debates still have a very important nucleus.

Young girls (and boys also, naturally) cut themselves with razors because they don't fit in the perfect image. They purchase fake body parts to fit in. They get depressed for years and kill themselves.
Stupid people design the perfect image, frustrated, immature, superficial people define what the perfect image is like, and they spread it everywhere.
Do you think that small things don't matter? Well, every little image, symbol, icon, road sign, avatar, they all matter. They all build up to a culture.

This is not about personal preferences. I bet the artists behind the 3D-models of wasp-waisted, balloon-breasted semi-nude creatures referred to as females have hardly been in the same room as a topless woman.
It's not about my personal preferences; they change according to my last encounter. I've been with large-breasted women and preferred that for some time, and I've been with completely flat women and found that kind of sexy in its own way.

The day people in games, magazines and movies resemble real people, I'll rest my case.

Why not just...do...anything except for that?
That's a rather depressing and not very constructive way to waste your time.

General Discussion / Re: MrColossal's Avatar

I think Eric's avatar was part of a pr-stunt to get people to Mittens '04.
That's why I went all the way to New York, anyway.

It took me four days to work out that Jess wasn't in fact MrColossal.

Sorry, but I lost the game, the source-code to the game, the editor which edited the game, along with the computer on which I scripted the game so long ago that only archeologists could do something about it.
Thanks for bringing it up anyway!

Hello everybody!
Short update. I still haven't got my own internet connection, so it'll take some time before you see me on MSN and IRC and whatever, and my moderating over here won't be too meticolous.

My phone is lost, so Layabout and Yufster: I'll send you my new number when I've purchased myself a new phone.
Photos of my close ones:

The girl with glasses and goth-haircut is one of my housemates, she's so cool and we have so much in common, music, literature etc. We talk all the time about life and everything. The blond girl is the one I first met in Brighton, as we shared room in the yoth hostel. I'm supervising the pool game.

My honeybird. She's so great and everybody loves her.

Me and my girl outside some historical castle that apparently means a lot to the brits.

Unfortunately I still lack photos of my favourite friend here in Brighton, he's a classmate and we have a great lot in common, everything from going out to dance in clubs to studying poetry.
Well, my lap-top battery is fading. Come and visit me! Over and out.Ã,

Ok, if somebody feels like shouldering the burden of Rui's leftovers, give me a pm and get the details. I guess it should be someone who knew about Rui and his projects fairly well.

Rui, since there have been debates regarding the fare-well threads lately, I take it that you are very determined to leave and not going to return.
So, take care and good luck in the future.

Redheads have some sort of weird ability to be sexually appealing even when they're not attractive (even though, of course, they can be attractive like any other kind). It's pure chemistry, I believe.
Maybe it's the fact that they're more vulnerable to diseases, more sensitive to the sun and more prone to bleed (midwives always order extra bags of blood when redheads are to give birth) that have given them supernatural powers.

In this sense, I agree with both Squinky and Helm.
#3057
I've been seeking sexuality alternatively intellectuality differently in different periods. I've never been able to work out a rule or a system, but when I find someone I'm genuinely interested in, I suddenly realise that her strengths are not easily categorised, and that I can't really pin-point why she is perfect.
The girl I'm seing presently is beautiful beyond compare, but for some reason this only fully occured to me while I was looking through some pictures some days after we met. She is not very "learned", she doesn't read books, not the typical intellectual, but still she's smart, funny and sharp.

How is that diffMENSTRUAL BLOOD AND SEMEN

Allright, who forgot to give the greek his Tourette's pills?

Btw, I didn't get the part about me fighting back-up threads. Or the part about tickling me. Although the tickling part sounded a bit intruiging.
#3059
I locked it because it has become a trashcan thread full of nonsensical one-line replies to a long since forgotten topic.

I didn't give a reason because it should be pretty obvious why this is a pointless waste of forum space.

That's pretty much why.

I don't know if I'll make it. I might stay in Brighton over the summer to work, in which case I might earn enough money to go to Spain. Otherwise I'll have virtually no means, seeing as I live rather expensively right now and don't work anything at all.

It would be a shame to miss out a Mittens (first time as well) especially in sunny Spain with sunny Nacho.
