I'm not aware of any rule or recommendation stating that there mustn't be any c&c in Competed Games forum. There is a rule disallowing it over at GiP, but not in here.

The thing with c&c is that you have to adjust it depending on the target, which is common sense, really. Big, commercial productions can, and should, take much more severe criticism than small hobby projects.

Inventive Mind, you clearly need to work out more constructive ways to deliver C&C. This is a friendly community for mostly amateurs making hobby games for free, and your feedback must be adjusted accordingly.

As long as people stick to the topic, and don't resort to personal attacks or just pointless flaming, then feel free to have heated discussions. There's no rule that everybody must be friends and always say positive things. Providing and receiving criticism is a huge part of being creative, so we should take every opportunity to practise it.

Like Snarky said, there's plenty to learn even from a blunt and poorly elaborated comment such as Jen_78's.

I'm waiting for movie makers to wake up from the current cgi hysteria, where everything has to be over the top, over spectacular and just over-epic.

Game of Thrones is the only fantasy I can watch these days, because it looks and feels authentic, and it's not about super hero ninja elves flying around being awesome or a million computer generated monsters, oh and remember when you played with transformers and it had like ten moving parts and could turn into a truck? Well in the movies every robot has 250000 moving parts, to the point where it's nothing less than a giant organic metal alien god, even though it can STILL ONLY TURN INTO A FREAKING TRUCK.

Too. Much. Of. Everything.

Hints for my riddle: Topical promise = resolution (as in new year's...) Exchange S for V and you get revolution, and Revolution Software keeps making Broken Sword games.

Code: ags

function hHotspot4_Interact()
{
if (headonshoulders == false) {
    cgarth.Say("It's full of fireworks!");
    if (takenfwork == false){
        cgarth.Say("I'll take one.");
        cgarth.AddInventory(ifirework);
        takenfwork = true;
    }
}
else cgarth.Say("The sleeping man is in the way.");
}

I exaggerated the indentations here to show where they should be. The only error I spotted was a lacking end quote on line 6.

PS:
I realised that you probably meant for the "The sleeping man..." etc to appear when headonshoulders is true? In that case I've now changed the brackets so that the conditions work.

1. Think of a topical kind of promise.
2. Who's know for their destroyed sharp-edged weapons?

The rest are just about substituting a letter... yeah this one wasn't very good.

You're a bit off, but then again this one was rather bad, not at all as brilliant as my last! Just one word, 10 letters.

A Vendetta against Superman turns promise into destroyers of blades

I'm also doing away with numbers now, to crank up difficulty a notch

General Discussion / New Years Resolutions?
Wed 31/12/2014 11:00:47
This is such a cliche of a topic... but hey let's do it anyways!
So here's where we can write down our new years resolutions, to make it even more embarrassing when we eventually fail to keep them.
Oh and you can't say 1280x720 because I just made that joke now.

I wonder if surpassing means just adding -er or -est, is if you compared an adjective? Or should we add something like "more"

I also wonder if the guitarist is Mark Knopfler, in which case we have the rather viable mark to work with?

Just some wonderings.
