I don't think people who visit the AGS game page expect to find real LucasArt/Sierra titles, so there's probably no risk of misunderstanding.

Then again, many games that have used trademarked titles in the past have been asked to change them (at least if they've been fairly big and serious, and especially if they went commercial), so it's not a very strange concept.

I'm not saying this is a huge issue, but as a principle I don't think game creators should use other people's game titles without permission, or at least clearly indicate it's a parody.

Just to make sure - have you contacted Grundislav about using the "Ben Jordan" brand name?
Usually, parodies and fan-works use altered names to distinguish them from the original. Your title will undoubtedly lead people to assume it's part of the "real" Ben Jordan franchise. Just saying.

When you have compiled your game and want to distribute it, please include setup and sound files in your download pack. Right now there's only an .exe file.

I probably read a few posts a bit sloppily - I definitely agree that Assange hasn't been raped, even figuratively.

When it comes to whether "rape" should even be used figuratively, that's probably another debate.

So Icey, I'm a bit curious. How did you get to develop Pub Master Quest for Wii U? This is a pretty big thing, so I'm sure your fans here would love to hear some details.
Did you have to show them Pub Master Quest and convince them it was worth developing for Wii U? Maybe you could share some tricks of the trade for other aspiring nintendo developers?

Wait now, everybody, things are getting a bit confused here.

Myinah, I'm not sure what your post refers to, but "rape" wasn't being used metaphorically (at least not in Selmiak's first post - the second one I have no idea really) - it's true Julian Assange was accused of rape in Sweden. I believe the accusations were later downgraded to sexual harassment. Also, your definition of rape, which I guess is the British law text, is extremely narrow and furthermore not how the Swedish law defines it. For starters, there doesn't have to be a penis involved. So anything that's sexual in nature that is being violently forced upon another is basically rape.

Well, I guess you had two conditions that both were true and both awarded the item. With the additional "else" you have made sure only one is run. Glad to hear it's solved anyway :)

You should probably find the source, though :) You haven't by any chance ticked the character-starts-with-this-item for testing purposes? In case you can't find it in the code.

The only thing I can think of is that you have multiple copies of the item. You have probably given your character the item twice in the code before.

I don't think you've explained very well what is going on, which is why people hesitate to answer.

Also note that there's a "{" missing on line 3 (or end of 2, however you want it), and all the code is weirdly indented.

All these loops, are they for showing/setting which direction the object will move? Is there a reason you haven't just made the monkey a character, that can walk around?

But ok, the object "omonkey" has a loop 2 which has loop 3 attached to it, to make it extra long, correct? And even though the code is triggered as if he was in loop 3, he still begins moving in loop 2? Is that it? Just trying to understand the problem.

I just picked up this book and started reading some nights ago, but I have virtually no time so it'll probably take a while.

After the first few chapters I really think the language is good, it's authentic and evocative, although it's still pretty conventional.

I'm a bit bothered by the stereotypical gender roles, but perhaps that's a deliberate direction, and something that will change - I mean how Nick doesn't care about anniversaries and can't remember dates, and Amy is chatty and focused on their relationship, and so on.

Off topic, but why do you think this board is dead? There are several announcements every week, and I'm pretty sure people respond in pms or mail instead of replying in the thread.
