I also played through Baldur's Gate (II) as a bard! It was great, the lore bonus allowed me to identify everything without having to waste identifying spells and shit.
Probably lousy compared to every other class, but I've never been a power gamer.

I don't quite understand what you're saying. Could you please use proper punctuation and look over your language, and more importantly exemplify by showing a picture of the gradient in question.

I've encountered a bug that prevents me from (sometimes) open any room backgrounds, or load new images to existing ones. If I have a room background open, it sometimes gets replaced with a red cross, and the editor won't save the game. It looks really serious.

It says AGS doesn't recognize the error, and it likely has to do with a memory being damaged or something.

Is there something wrong with my computer?

Nice as always, but I think I prefer it when you talk more. The songs turned out a bit long (especially those I didn't really like) - I'd rather just get a playlist and listen to them in my own pace.
Looking forward to the next one!

But that's the main problem is that very few of the new generations are going to be into the indie scene because of the modern/more interactive games pc and/or consoles are offering. Sadly, future seems not too bright in this case. :(

The future isn't less bright now than what it's been for quite a while. In late '90s and early '00s, low-res, 2d graphics was super-dead; now at least we have some kind of revival of the genre going on, with some people preferring the retro style.

We also have to acknowledge that most of our game are tiny, made by amateurs, and have extremely low production values.

What game are we talking about? A game that's been downloaded in single digit numbers after more than a week is either commercial or not very noteworthy. As blueskirt says, it's up to the game author to advertise their game, if they think it deserves it. This site and the database has lots of visits, just add all the weekly downloads of the top ten games or so and see for yourself.

Awesome!
I browse the screenshot galleries at sites like mobygames like there's no tomorrow.
When it comes to classic point-and-click adventure background art, I think BASS and Discworld belong to my favourites.

I'm unsure whether AGA's currently sorting out a multi-poll thread solution or not. If nothing has happened by tomorrow morning, I'll simply start five separate polls here on the activity board.

It's probably only for the better if people have to think/play some more before casting their votes!

It's kind of like if I asked you for $8 to go get some dinner (thinking I'll just go to MacDonald's) and you give me a $50 and tell me to keep the change. So I say, well in that case I'll go to a proper restaurant instead and order a nice meal. Sure, it'll take a bit longer, but it's going to be worth it. But when I'm there it turns out I miscalculated (maybe I read the prices wrong on the menu, or didn't think to include the bottle of wine we're having, or at the last moment I decide we should get some dessert as well) and the $50 won't remotely cover it, so I have to run to the ATM and get some of my own cash to make up the shortfall.

Okay, I'm not that invested in this project (neither financially nor emotionally) but I would like to question this analogy.

Wouldn't it be more like:
We: Hey Snarky, we need to eat, can you make us all some dinner if we give you money?
Snarky: Sure, give me 20 bucks and I'll make a pie.
We: That sounds like a deal. Take this 60 bucks instead - some more guys wanted in. We trust you to cook a tasty pie, and we're hungry.
Snarky: Okay!
Snarky: Hey guys, I decided to make an extremely complicated dish instead, so I'm gonna need more time and money. Just sit tight for an undefinite amount of time, will ya.
We: Alright, but we would have settled for something quicker and less complicated. You could have saved the rest of the money for dinner tomorrow instead.

I could just start five polls here in this very forum. Sure it means a lot of polls, but it's for a limited time. Maybe it'll feel better to have everything forum-based instead of external services that people will have to click on links to find.

I won't have time to participate, unfortunately. We're going away tomorrow and over the weekend, and besides I'm just ridiculously stressed about TSP.

I wish you all good luck and look forward to playing your games next week!

I really don't understand what you're trying to say. Do Sierra and LucasArt have to be equally popular due to some kind of ancient agreement? Can't people just like different things?

One thing that annoys me is when people attribute others' disliking in something to an artificial, insincere pretense. Like whenever someone tells a rude joke that happens to be really boring, and when nobody laughs he complains they're being too PC to appreciate it.

I was brought up on a diet of Sierra games and little else - I played all the LSLs, all the SQs, PQs, KQs etc before I even looked at a LucasArt title. They're still really dear to me. But in retrospect, many of those games were flawed in many ways, and especially their sense of humour feels dated now. They fail to entertain a post-pubertal me, anyway.

Besides, no one in this community can really complain about shitty, clunky interfaces.

Eh, what?

We're too HIGHBROW for Leisure Suit Larry now, too? Freud off with that bullshit.

What, again?
Did someone post something super offensive and then remove the post? Because there's some really unfounded frustration being vented here.

Yup, can't handle shaders.
Funny, I don't exactly have a high-end pc, but that's the first game I've tried thus far that simply refused to load.

Hehe, that was pretty neat Eric

Got this when trying to start the game: "An error has occured that caused White Wedding to stop."

Goodie!
