I got to stop staring at those backgrounds, for a moment I thought Joey did the ghostly floating animation at one point. I'm freaking myself out.
Will be nice to see how you plan to raise the ante again after the climax of the last game. Looking forward to this.

I love Rosa's new outfit.
She kind of went all fashion aware and a bit darker.

Was just about to ask abut that, glad it's okay.

It's kind funny that you (and Khris and me and other people) care more about it than Icey does. I've given up on trying to point in the right direction and away from the lack of basic drawing steps Icey should use when drawing and that would make his art better. Maybe it'll come with age.

Your game gets extra attention for free, what is the problem here?
In this case it's probably not a problem, but lesson is to control where your game is available, just so nobody tries to charge money for a game you made available for free. And so you don't end up with problems if users can't play it, computers get damaged/infected, people ask for their money back etc.

Running doesn't break the immersion as much (or at all) like teleporting does. It also doesn't make it seem like I want to finish the game, but rather I'm just hurrying.

Same as with reading the dialog - if you skip it because you've read it, before the game automatically changed it, that's ok, but if a player is just skipping through the dialog, that maybe points to a disinterest or not properly worked out text amount (as in waiting too long before you let a player interact again, even if it's just asking a new question).

Pineapples, really? I almost always burn my tounge with the acid from it (it kind dulls yet stings a few days after)...weird.
For me it's usually tomato juice, I basically drink it and just lose any craving I have, only down side being that it usually contains a lot of salt in it. Grapefruit is great for that as well, I eat it and just can't think of another taste in my mouth till I was it out.

I need a new HDD, the one I have keeps clicking at random times then disappears from Windows explorer.

Support for building and playing on Android/iPad/Reader
would be totally awesome
There is one but we don't give it to the people who don't use the Search function on the forum.

Awesome, thanks much for calling those out. When I get back so time I'm going to fix the shoulder, shade the body, and figure out what to do with the glasses, since I'm not sure weather to fix them in the straight on view or the 3/4.
I'd fix them in the 3/4 view, that way you'll get a more pronounced silhouette (it'll get an extra bump which defines glasses, which adds a distinction to some degree, as in not all people wear glasses), plus it's more "realistic".

Also cornflakes is far from ideal food, most of those brands put a lot of sugar in it (even the not "sweet" ones) and you get less filled up than the calories you get.

Quote from: theSynapse on Wed 13/02/2013 09:55:13If triple-A games are finding it hard to turn a profit in shops (and they REALLY are!), then a niche genre like ours can't possibly hope to do any better.
I seriously doubt that there isn't a sweet spot somewhere in between.
Lately AAA games have seriously been lacking in gameplay department while the price of all the art assets, management leeches, marketing machines and massive budgets, just seems to be collapsing in on itself. Of course they can't be profitable when the price of making an AAA is now above $100 million, that's a lot of units that need to be sold.

It has been proven time and time again that super best awesome graphics and marketing are not the key to success or a needed for a game to be sold a lot or to make money. Not just talking about some games which are a product of a loving creator who works in his/her free time over years, but things can be made in studio and industrial ways and still be profitable enough for studios to be working. Of course there needs to be some games which do have the budget to pull of some things, but right now the greediness of bigger publishers seems to overfill the market more often these days, while the people that are running these publisher show every time that they don't the first thing about games or the market or how to treat customers.

In any case AAA market is not the reflection of the gaming market in general, people who don't know this market have taken over and is leading them the wrong path, with only a few exceptions where games are successful enough to be profitable even when the company is broken from the management side of things.

Apart from the glasses Arma mentioned, I'd maybe decide whether you want to use shadowing or not, because now his head has shadowing but the rest of the body doesn't have any. Just to keep consistency.

His collar is in front of the shoulder when he's turned to the right (4th frame) and I'd maybe move his left shoulder (our right) a bit more up in 3rd frame (the 3/4 view).
But in general, looks really good.

That's very sharp and smooth for a flint axe (which the caveman look would suggest), and wouldn't bronze and iron include culture and technology similar to ancient Egypt and Greece...just sayin'. Plus there's whole thing with mammals actually rising as dominant species by the lack of dinosaurs.
Also who/what do dinosaurs, mammals and humans hunt for food? Fish?

Why the hell is it so dark?  Night time is not just about dark tones (unless you're making a western in the 40s), but the saturation and hues within the palette. In painting the graduation of tones is used for defining the material properties not so much in the actual brightness. Try turning your image to black & white and you'll see that it lacks proper variation in lighting.
Night time is defined by it's light sources and shadows.

Second thing, in the brush settings you need to adjust your thickness and smoothing. And don't be afraid of using thinner lines or straight ones (like with shift+click command in PS), there's no shame in using straight lines, even nondigital painters use rulers when sketching.

Third thing is you need to use transitions between tones, you seem to be using one color then go to a picker and choose one close to it and that shows, you need to smooth that out. You can use the effects PS offers for blending with brushes (there are some that imitate real brushes), you can use Smudge tool or you can manually add tones between with a brush. Although be wary that both smudge and realistic brushes do slow things down when used.

That's a very open and informative talk mr. G. (and a lot of patience for some suggestions for Blackwell stories  ).
Thanks for uploading it m0ds.

Quote from: amateurhour on Fri 08/02/2013 22:54:112) Zoom in as much as possible. Don't think of it like drawing on a sheet of paper, think of it like drawing on paper under a magnifying glass. Seriously zoom out to where you can see the whole page and do a rough sketch, then zoom in to like 300% and work on small areas at a time. It'll save you a lot of stress.
This might work on bigger tablets, but on Bamboo for example you can't really do big strokes because there just isn't enough space and the tablet is more sensitive (smaller area of the tablet, but the same size of screen). So sometimes it's really hard to do smooth lines (a bit easier in Illustrator when it smooths them out, but in PS it looks jitter). I often have to do a pen tool over my sketch because my lines are just too jittery.
