I was kind of bored so some good luck fan art

I just didn't know what was exactly on the shirt, so a tf2 logo was my best guess.

Hi!

My friend found a phone last week and gave it to me today, because he couldn't get it to work. He had already reverted to factory settings. Apparently it's a HTC EVO 3D. And I can see how he couldn't get it to work. There is no slot for a SIM card, and I gather that that's typical for the US version. I live in Slovakia, so this is pretty new to me.

Is there any way to get this kind of thing to work in Europe?
Like this http://www.htc.com/help/au/howto_iframe.aspx?id=88649ype=1&p_id=398 ?

Apparently the US version doesn't use a SIM card...because, you know, Americans :P The European version should have it, but the US one doesn't, it's the CDMA and GSM versions differnces.

...wait, is this the lie thread?

Indeed, composition can make a whole lot of a difference in the original it's a bit static:

but now I just moved the middle part (I just flipped it and masked the edges), making the tower fall on a third:

Also I sharpened it a bit,not only does it help when it's zoomed, but also you put the original as .jpg which is great for photos but on such small pictures that get zoomed, the compression is noticeable, try saving files as .png, the file is a bit bigger but the picture in general is not that big so it's not a problem so much. Jpg uses much more compression by approximation of neighboring pixels while png uses lossless compression, and when you have little pixels to work with, that will also be pretty zoomed in, you want the image to be crisp and clear.

Did they say they made the game engine? By the looks and gameplay elements, I'd say Beyond G&E copy is really the most accurate but skinned like a BS 4 or 3 engines.

Somebody mentioned in another topic about how bad looking wip and concept videos can push away some people and backers, but here they're bragging about how the graphics are gonna be "next gen" and hires...yeah, that looks like it could run on Gamecube and don't need PS3 and XBox 360.

Ok, I'm definitely in front of the screen too long these last few days, but I really don't see the difference that much...maybe just slightly, but barely noticeable. I had to sample it in PS to see.

I mean even colors with more difference "seem" the same depending on the colors surrounding them, but this really is just a slight change in my opinion. I guess I'd notice it if the 2 images were next to one another but in this case, you might as well go with the one you think looks best since it's more a very subtle effect rather than a big change.

I'm not sure if I understood what you said about the index card. Do you mean: drawing something on paper, than placing it on the tablet to trace it out digitally?
Actually, in my experience, that doesn't work well for some reason, maybe it works on bigger tablets but on my Bamboo, just ends up a mess and it better to scan in or just sketch on paper then recreate it digitally.
What Eric probably means, or at least what I do - put a piece of paper (I use regular printer paper) on the surface, I even tape it slightly. Not only does it give you a texture that's easier to get used to because of the resistance it offers, but I usually press the pen hard onto the surface and when there's paper, it doesn't leave scratches which can later mess up your strokes.

I've never seen a game that isn't a puzzle platformer look so much like a puzzle platformer.  But we shall see...
Indeed. And I don't know what he's fighting with such statements.
I mean Double fine is fighting making adventure games in general, part of it is mixing generes and new gameplay, which is fine with me, but when they tried to make an adventure game, they got a ton of support...it's really weird.

He's going to do character art like he just did up there with my characters but a front/back view of the character. Then I will take them and draw them in my in-game sprites style. Also I can't let him take over cause I like the way I draw stuff, it's on the same line as Tetsuya but it appears different which is good and I know what I want for my games. However if you said that cause you thought he was doing the in-game sprites then never mind.
So why do you need an extra artist if you redo his art? As far as I can see you basically need an artist to draw the poses in costumes you need and then you'll draw over it, but with no regard to anatomy or anime style? What he's doing for you is more character designer than character artist, since it seems you can't really tell if somebody else than you drew the characters.

Needs more cowbell...and nudity. Game is looking cool and unusual.

It couldn't hurt to have more AGS games with nudity.

Well lets continue the theme. Kind of weird shot, but still a lot of hints in it.
It's not animated btw, although I think it might kind of look like that in this scene.I caught this movie one evening, with nothing to do and I thought it was gonna be terrible, but I couldn't stop watching it.

That's "Super". A really weird movie and maybe even better than Kick-Ass, although it has it's problems as well.

Not sure if this was posted already, but if so, it's still worth a second look.

67 year old man don't take crap from nobody!

http://www.iviewtube.com/v/124787/old-white-man-beats-up-black-kid-fight-on-bus
There is another linked video clip there where the guy explains what happened and what was actually said. Also the 67yo is actually a Vietnam vet who was later a dealer and even was in jail, so he's anything but a whimp.

That is awesome btw, this kind of things should happen more often. I usually think in a very defensive way (as in I don't get into fights with people I don't know, because they can be real nut jobs and beat the s*** out of me even though I'm a pretty big guy) but people who provoke and attack don't think of it that way, they don't expect of somebody to best them and hurt them. If more bullies (well that's the least offensive name I can think of) face more people like that 67yo guy, that may look frail but are actually borderline insane and are stronger and won't back off, they wouldn't be molesting people for fun or because they want to act tough.

I've had this conversation so many times before (a few times on this board even) and the conclusion is that people who think as you do (and I'm not saying you're wrong) will never be persuaded to see the side that people like me present on the subject (and the reverse is true as well).  I think human kind has no hope of long-term existence if we remain a one-planet species.  You disagree.  I'm perfectly content leaving it at that because, honestly, I'm tired of this argument :)

When my future relatives watch your future relatives disintegrate on earth while we're safely off the planet I will have the last laugh :P

So it's cool to see that I was correct in my assumption (on why he wrote the article in the first place) and I agree 100% with his contention!  If people are talking about it and getting excited about it there's a FAR greater chance of something like that actually happening.

Can't happen soon enough as far as I'm concerned!
Shouldn't we develop technology that will provide a healthy (I mean this in ecological, peaceful and rational way) environment so we can concentrate on scientific research to actually be productive in space?

Certainly the world we created now is not sustainable as is, even if we start recycling everything and stop the wars and cure diseases and limit the pollution, I think humans will still in their core be basically parasites and space travel and colonizing other worlds is the only way to ensure a future where we actually might feel contempt.
Actually I think we should do what the aliens in Independence day do, go from planet to planet in giant ships. I mean, a bit less militaristic but basically going from planet to planet and harvesting stuff.

1st I really can't take seriously a project that actually uses ST as a blueprint and I'm talking about being inspired by ST, plenty of good things have come from that, but to basically recreate it is just silly. Also this is not really a project, because saying that you want a 100 billion dollars and that you need 9 years for invention and prototyping and then you're going to finish in 20 years is an estimate based on no data. Many of things in ST are very borderline psychically possible as far as we know now (teleport, energy shields, powerful lasers and then even warp engines swapped for nuclear power). Other concepts are just impractical and even dated by today's technology, starting from the design of a ship. I'd even given more credit to it if they said they're going to make a 2001 Space Odyssey ship.

2nd Armageddon, so is it retro future or semirealistic/Space Odyssey or near future or pure sf, I can't tell from all the variations of themes you put together. That'll help you flesh out the setting and the story.

If it's anything like Hungarian (the Ugric part of Finno-Ugric) then I feel pitty for ya. :-D Hungarian is seriously messed up, like somebody stole all the vowels and added z and y and some none standard letters.  (roll)
Although my theory is that Finno-Ugric is like a category for languages that don't fit anywhere else and not so much for being similar.

Music is really good and the atmosphere of the trailer/intro is very enjoyable as well. Strangely though the art changes in style in almost each scene and the camera shakes in places for no reason. But yeah, it's wip, so I'm still looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
