Your demo does work.
But is it just me, or is your updated module just an empty folder? That's all I get when downloading.

Yeah that's okay that you merged them. Except that now people think my problems has been solved since it says that in the subject line!
I'm still having trouble with the checkcombo.
Code: ags
<SpinLock.SpinLeft();Ã,
if(SpinLock.CheckCombo()){Display("blah blah")>

That's what I have for SpinLeft, and for SpinRight too.
But whenever I put in the combo, it doesn't end.
I followed the correct directions but it still won't recognise it.
I couldn't seem to follow those earlier suggestions about altering the module's script so any advice would be appreciated.

Okay Maverick, number 1: I already looked at that page and it didn't answer my first questions. That's why I started this post.
Number 2: I know where the finished games go.
Number 3: YOUR EXAMPLE LOCK IN THE OTHER THREAD DOWNLOADED A VIRUS TO MY COMPUTER.
So maybe you should check on that.
Luckily it seems to be a low threat one.

Okay, I've managed to do most of it.
I have the room, with the combo as an object using all the different views. The spin left, spin right and reset buttons are all working properly. (Note: the object can't cover those buttons or they won't work, I used hotspots for them.)
The only thing I can't work out is how exactly to use the SpinLock.CheckCombo bit to finish it.
As soon as I do that, my small game will be done! I think I'll post it here if I can, although don't get your hopes up for something great.

Anyway thanks for the help.

Hey, I found a similar thread but it didn't fully answer my questions so I'm just going to ask them myself.
First of all, where do I put the module so AGS can recognise it?
Well actually, what I'm looking for is a step-by-step guide to getting it to work. The readme file was not very clear.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
By the way, it's that Snake Blissken one.

That did help, but there are still some problems.
Since the walkable areas of "under stairs" and "on stairs" overlap, when he goes under the stairs he can still walk out through the stairs. Is there any way to turn off one walkable area while he's under there?

Edit: I think I found a remove walkable area script in the manual.
I'll give that a try.

Okay thanks for that. It sounds good, I'll go try it soon.
My computer was playing up before, I'm not sure why. Seems to be a RAM issue, it happened a while ago too.
Maybe it's because it's hot, I don't know.
Anyway, thanks again.

Hi everyone, I have two issues at the moment.

1. In my room, there is a staircase going up, but the character is also able to walk behind it. The stairs are separate in the picture, so you can still see the character between the steps when he's behind them. The thing is, when he goes to walk up the stairs, when he gets to the base line for walkbehind, he ends up behind the stairs because they over-lap, instead of staying on the staircase.
Is there any way I can fix this?

2. I thought it would be better if I drew my room pictures at a higher resolution (640*400) and then when I imported them they would look better at 320*200. But when I import them, they stay at their large resolution. Can the game be made to scale the pictures down, or do I have to do it myself in my paint program?

By the way I use Paint It, it's like Paint but with a few more tools. It comes with Creative Writer.

Those messages are the global messages defined by the program. Just go to the global messages option on the left, and scroll down to the bottom to find them.

Yay! My first help post.
For the graphics, maybe just import them using the sprite manager? I'm not 100% sure what else you mean.

Hey thanks for the reply.
The thing is, I've been avoiding all the scripting stuff. I only just got AGS the other day and I'm eager to make a game but I haven't bothered to learn the scripting.
Mainly because I feel it may be too hard for me.
With your solution, does that allow me to put a background picture with "new game" and "load game" options on it?
Also I want to make Roger bigger at every point in the game (not just special rooms) because he's too small compared to my backgrounds.
Thanks again.

Hi everyone, sorry but I have some questions, and they're probably very, very simple but I can't seem to find the information anywhere.

1. How do I cause the game to end when the character finishes what they're supposed to do? For the life of me I can't find this anywhere in the manual! For that matter I also need to know how to end it when they lose.

2. My game (it's my first) involves a bank robbery, and I have a bank vault room where there's a laser and you need to put down a mirror to reflect it.
My red laser beam is an object, which will then change when a mirror item is used on it. Under the laser I put a region which is supposed to say "you crossed the laser..." if you don't use the mirror. But if you use the mirror first, I want it to do nothing.
So, I used global variable 1 but it doesn't work properly. It doesn't seem to display the message at all.

Thanks a lot, and I'm sorry if these have been answered before (I'm sure my first question has been but I haven't found it).
I hope to be able to make some good games soon.
