I found that the weird part on the lower body mostly comes from the way you put one the 'stomache plate'. I made it go all the way down curving along with the body itself.

Also, The character looks more like a snake then a snail, so i did a quick edit on the head to make it more snail like.

A birdseye view in pseudo 3d of some places in New York. I found it pretty impressive to look at.

Recessions are soooo last week. Swine flu is where its at. Media just loves a good scaremonger campaign

it also helps you to install the patches correctly, manually i would get a black/white screen with garbled stuff in it when i tried to run red alert after I installed it. And then it would ultimatly crash back to the desktop. When using this tool step by step (first only install the game, then only install the first patch then only install the lastest patch, so i runned it 3 times) and now it works perfectly.

A shame, the manger worked fine and dandy for me. I could play it without a single error in vista 64bit and on a HD4870 videocard

Damn Arboris i was working on an entry with Ash..

Enough post apocalyptic heroes to go around.

Good. Bad. He's the guy with the gun.

These are the colors I gave it originally, the one in the picture has been given more blueish tones to fit the enviroment.

*edit*

The reason I chose Ash from Army of Darkness is because that movie has 2 endings (or atleast that I know of). One (which most have seen i think) is that he returns to his own time, but the one I'm refering to is that he took too much of the potion and ended up 100 years later in a post apocalyptic world

26 entries in total. I don't think I've ever seen so many in a single spritejam. You might've set a record there ProgZmax :P

And congratulations Katschey

It's looking mighty fine. Doesn't let you know much about the story tho :P

How did you guys do the same font? It's all I need to do now.

Pixel-by-pixel for me.

Same here ;) Real men don't need Fonts

Sjeesh, SPC's group picture is getting rather big. You'll have plenty of options to choose from this time, ProgZmax.

You really think MSPain is ideal for sprite creation? It lacks any tools that help with animation. I know it has been done (spooks), but it's a horrible choice of program. Something that allows onion skinning is probably the best choice, but layers are fine as well.

We're getting a bit off topic here, but most sprites and backgrounds I've created are mostly done in mspaint. I have gimp, photoshop and the likes. But for easy access and not fiddle around with numerous settings for a damn simple sprite or background I'll take mspaint any day. And seriously, calling it "mspain" really doesn't help your arguement  ::).
#195
because mspaint is easy to use, and ideal for creating low-res sprites.

Dayum, you really know your female sprite SpacePirateCaine.

It was fun trying to imitate the style you gave. But making a sitting character might not have been the best idea.

Just a quicky, my usual way of shading characters. Using mspaint and only the draw tool I usually freehand either half cresent shapes around the edges and for things like long loose coats and dresses (or also her gloves in this case) I end with vertical  triangles at the bottom.

Most wrinkles occur at places that bend (elbow, shoulder, knee, pelvis and waist) but also at places where clothing ends (especially with the baggy pants she's wearing).

Now, this is 100% accurate of how clothing actually deforms. But it's pretty fast and easy to do. And the end result is usually not too shabby. (or atleast in my opinion it is ;)

I was surprized I actually still had the orignal disks that came with the Commodore 286. The disks are blank tho :P Guess they're too old by now

Thanks for the drawover Evil, the sphere does look alot better like that. It gives atleast the apearance of being a crystal globe.

I'll try to find a good referance picture that'll suit my needs for it :)
