but there are milestones that used to give you items in TF2

Which is my single most greatest gripe with TF2.

Xbox games have achievements, always! PS3 has trophies but not all games have them and not as many.

To elborate on this: any game post 2009 has achievement on the PS3, some before 2009 have retroactivly gotten the achievements (games like fallout3 and gta3). But personally this has never interested me in any way, shape or form. (even steam has them these days, I mean really,  whats the point?)

most stuff is connected by roads, Darthville however, isn't (yet)

This all looks like a very funny thing; but can someone give me a briefing about how this works? Sorry if I was too lazy to seek around for explanations.
My three main questions are:
- what should I download/register/buy to "play" this? (well, almost got this one myself)
- what is the point of the game (along with building fancy structures)?
- are you editing same "world" here? I saw some maps on http://minecraft.agsarchives.com. Can I participate somehow?

1. go to http://minecraft.net/ , make an account here, and then you can buy the game
2. There is no point in this game other then do what you want. Single play has monsters to slay, multiplay doesnt  (yet)
3. Yes, we're editing the same world. The server is posted on the first page.

Tough enough to get 4 people for L4D2, and with the whole new update as well.

Who'd want to play L4d2 anyway?

I've played WoW since the wee beginning of it, and I plan to start again once the next expansion hits this december. Always with friends and family, otherwise it'll grow boring and tedious pretty fast. MMO's are social games afterall and not really intended for singleplay.

note to self:  in snow levels, do not build on ice. The torches will melt the ice
