Messages - Archangel (aka SoupDragon)

Right, this week's tune contest is... write a character theme for the love interest in a game. The theme would be played whenever the character is on-screen, or if something else related to him/her is happening. Apart from that there are no restrictions! If you're stuck for inspiration I would suggest finding a MIDI of Nobuo Uematsu's "Aeris Theme" from FF7 - it's a classic. Good luck!

Oh! I see  ;D

I leave for a week, and suddenly the tune contest isn't happening any more? Did I miss something? What happened?

I think for this idea to really take off there needs to be something more user friendly than a forum thread. Like an entire classified section... divided up into groups looking for members, members looking for groups, and by categories of art, music, plot consultants, and puzzle writers. All searchable, of course :) But that's just an idea, not sure if anyone could actually be bothered to write something like this and put it up on a website...

Well I was hoping to draw a version of this character and have it posted up here, but I'm going away for a week tomorrow and by the time I get back this thread will have fallen way off the bottom of the page, so it won't really be worth it. But once again, thanks everyone for your amazing contributions. I've learnt loads :D

Does the megaphone have a talking view set up correctly?

Wow, sounds pretty awesome, flippy. The only thing I might be worried about is having too much plot and not enough game, but I'm sure you'll work it out.

Leave it another day and  a half, but I'm leaving on sunday, and I want to know if I've won or not!

Wow those are great! But the secret with lighting is not to do what you did and have just one or two bright lights. For a sunlit scene you need two or three acting as the sun, with some lights pointing in the other direction to lighten the shadows from behind... it's kinda difficult to explain, I'd suggest you search out some good lighting tutorials.

WOW you people are all awesome! All of you. I think Loominous got the character I was looking for down almost exactly... but Ali's girl is so damn cute I've got to use her somewhere... probably as the PA (personal assistant) to the psych. Thanks all for your wonderful help!

She's working, therefore she needs a long skirt, I'm afraid.

lol evil. As awesome as that is, she's not much of a psychiatrist...

It's because of the acsetup.cfg file, which contains resolution information and needs to be in the same folder as the game exe. Find it in your game compiled folder and distribute it with your game.
#195
In the properties for the shortcut you created, is the "start in" box set to the folder your game is in?
#196
I'm seriously stuck here. The character I'm trying to create is a young female psychiatrist, fairly sexy in a sinister kind of way. All I can come up with is someone who looks like a lost granny. And how on earth do you draw breasts at 30x60 pixels? Please help!

I'm guessing it's a fake. However, it is perfectly possible to trace your address by ISP; when you sign up to an ISP, you have to give your full name and address. So all a government agency has to do note your ISP and IP address, then ask the ISP which account was using that IP at that moment, and from that get your home address.

Only if there's a point :P

I liked the swearing in TLJ, because it added to the characterisation in a realistic manner. But it was never gratuitious. I think the question "do you like offensive games" is pretty dumb, because if a game is "gritty" with a purpose then it shouldn't be offensive, and neither should you put down a game because it isn't gritty enough.

Yeah I noticed as I was playing BASS how nice the walking was, no sliding diagonally, and I thought "wouldn't that be a good feature in AGS" *nudgenudgeCJ*
