Creation vs evolution arguments have been done to death all over the internet. The sad thing is, nobody is ever willing to change their minds about the subject, leading to all kinds of flame wars, and other things. Which is why I would prefer to see this topic locked as soon as possible.

In my First Time Player Enters Screen event I have the following code:

character[EGO].x = 186;
character[EGO].y = 140;
SetCharacterView(EGO, 8);
character[EGO].talkview = 8;
Wait(30);  
character[BOSS].room = 1;
character[BOSS].x = 125;
character[BOSS].y = 198;
MoveCharacterBlocking(BOSS, 150, 150, 0);
FaceCharacter(BOSS, EGO);
RunDialog(0);


As you can see, there is a Wait() function, which is producing a warning for no apparant reason. There aren't any Wait()s in the before fadein event either.

Ah I'm sorry, I made a mistake. The problem now seems to be, I am getting warnings when I put blocking code into the First Time Player Enters Screen event. I wasn't getting warnings with RC2, I don't think. Unless I'm going mad.

There seems to have been a room interaction added... before there used to be "player enters room" and "player enters room (before fadein)". Now I see that "player enters room (after fadein)" has been added... which wouldn't be a problem, except that now whenever I finish testing I get a load of warnings that I have code in "player enters room" that I shouldn't have. What is the difference between "player enters room" and "player enters room (after fadein)"?

5200? Latest games? Not a chance. But unless you really want to play Half Life 2 when it comes out, that machine is fine, and for about £600 it's definitely fine, as long as that includes tax and all.

About 90% of the puzzles I've been stuck on in adventure games have been because I've missed a hotspot. The Broken Sword put-the-metal-bar-in-the-crack-in-the-wall puzzle, anyone?

That means you're using a non-standard character, like © or é or something.

I finished it yesterday; it was good and all, but I thought that it could have been longer. Not neccessarily in terms of gameplay, but I felt like I wanted to see more of the city. Broken Sword was immense tho, so I'll forgive them ^^

It's pretty easy CJ, you just call a windows print dialog and let the OS handle the rest. At least I think so... don't hold me to it or anything, I've only ever used stuff like Borland's C++ Builder for windows apps.

Note: the bit that didn't come out too well in the scan was the caption below Richard Cobbet's photo, which reads "Richard gets into his house by sliding a bit of paper under the door and poking the key out of the lock with a paperclip.
