Messages - Archangel (aka SoupDragon)

#481
Xad: I added you to my msn, because it's easier to send files that way, if that's ok. I'm apolloice@hotmail.com

Hey Xad, I've just thought; if you need someone to write some MIDIs for your game, well, I'd be more than happy to do it ^_^. If you want a reference just ask eVOLVE (he rants about me way more than I deserve...).

Like Trap said, I think it needs to look less like the arm is just being rotated, and more like the whole body is involved. Shoulders and whatnot.

His belly needs to be wider than his pects (man boobs)

Well, since you can obviously draw (well >_<) I would strongly recommend the hi res. The way you've done it it still retains a kind of old school feel anyway.

Okay then, how do I get into the closet?
#487
VWG: look in the directory where you unzipped the game. What do you notice about the files there?

Security guards aren't allowed handcuffs iirc...

Hints & Tips / Stuck on Day 1 of Pleughburg

Ok, I'm obviously missing some random and unrelated trigger here, but how do I get upstairs in the morgue? I've taken the note from the robe, run the DNA thingy over it, got the magazine for the tech guy, picked up his unwrapping device, got the hand into a plastic bag... what now?

Trap: the red letters form a word. That word is a clue, which will tell you something else you have to do with the grid.

One more hint, the thing you're meant to eventually get isn't a proper word, just a collecion of letters.

The demo of Path of Crystal is now released! Check my post below for more info.

Path of Crystal

Leon Kaler. Just another bored, depressed office worker in Central London. But something exraordinary is about to happen, that could change forever the lives of him and of those he holds most dear...

FEATURES

-Hours of Gameplay
-Absorbing Plot
-Intriguing Puzzles
-High Quality MP3 Music

--------end blurb------------

Okay, so here I'm presenting Path of Crystal, a game being written almost entirely by me, except for the gui and other misc. scripting which has been kindly donated by eVOLVE. As for the plot, well I won't be revealing anything more until the demo is released, but trust me, it's going to be good. (I tested some of the ideas on a friend who is into sci-fi, and he commented that I should be commisioned to write ideas for sci-fi shows, so I kinda counted that as passing a test of sorts.)

Here are some numbers. Note that these refer to the DEMO, not the full game. The demo will be approx. 10-15 minutes long.

Completed Plot (demo): 100%
Completed Music (demo): 100%
Completed Scripting (demo): 100%
Completed Art (demo): 100%

So as you can see, the demo is about a month away, with the full game following maybe a year after that. That is, if people approve of the demo; if not, well then I'd have to see.

Stay tuned to this board for further information!

General Discussion / Re:new one hour games..

Erm... one hour games can only really be organised on IRC, since it takes about a day for everyone to pick up messages on this board.

It's Roger. As a werewolf. Betcha didn't see that one coming.

p.s. this is my first ever sprite jam entry! w00t!
#494
Shouldn't that be quasi-newbie?

Anyway, get Cakewalk if you have money.
Get Anvil Studio if you don't.

Simple, really ^_^

Annie, calm down. We all appreciate what you're doing for this forum, and I'm certain everyone here is (or should be) grateful for the activities and stuff you've planned over the past few months. Don't give up on it :)

Try characters not letters ;)
#497
I think you're on the wrong tack, remixor. I tried counting the number of letters at which each hash occured, and came up with something interesting...

Critics' Lounge / Re:Converting Midi's to MP3
Tue 22/04/2003 02:23:47
First, technically it's not 'converting' it's 'rendering' :P

Second, buy a better cpu, enable dma on your hardrive, buy more ram. Because the only way of recording MIDI to MP3 without using your processor would be to connect the speaker out on your computer to an external recording device, then playing it back in the line in afterwards.

Or buy a hardware synth :P

Reminds me of the artwork from Warhammer 40k, except less messy.
