Thanks Atelier!  MAGS has always been great fun and you've been a massive part of that.  I'm sure Stupot+ will continue in the fine tradition. ;)
+1!

I love that you are still working on this, but sadly every update like this will break all existing savegames. It's what kept me from replaying this, because I always feel the effort is futile unless I played through the entire game fairly quickly, which I don't want to do.
Yeah Khris, that savegames issue spoiled a bit Dustbowl and we totally understand angry/disappointed players.

Still, we guess Dustbowl's players (some are real fans :)) and the game itself deserve a last strong big breaking update (Yeah, sadly, it should be the last update then we'll work on another main project).

Hopefully, that last version (with XP, escape button, sandbox mode, etc.) will bring new players and savegames won't be a problem for them.
To me, all the (free) content we add(ed) is a kind of reparation, so in the end, it's like a "blessing in disguise" (still annoying for sure).

The only remedy is to add a custom savegame system, but that's a LOT of tedious work, and bug-prone as hell, so probably not an option, I guess. I wish there was a better solution.
Unfortunately, you are totally right and I can't be more agree.
So indeed, I advise you (and other players that don't want to restart a game) to wait the last/ultimate version (we'll announce it) to play the game (or restart a game).

Anyways, thx for your support and understanding all of you. :)

Peder, you are our "best employee of the month"!
Dustbowl Corp. thanks you.
(NOW GO BACK TO WORK!) :D

Thx Yitcomics and AGD2, we hope you like our "baby"! ;)

We have a news, and this month, it makes sense:

"Are you experienced?"

We are adding a xp/level up system and 3 skills.
It's almost done.
It will be available in september in the next big update.

Cya, take care and spread the word! ;)

still waiting for the steam gift from the dev for review writing... :P (JK)
We were agreed to not talk about the "small" bribe! :D (JK)
#gamergate alert!
Mind, as I'm french, I'm not sure to exactly understand what ppl are meaning with #gamergate, but now I'm afraid to be caught in the  storm! :D

Oh wait! Maybe it could be a way to advertise the game!
#dustbowlgate: Scandal! We heard about some leaks revealing some reviewers got a lot of fun playing Dustbowl!

#dustbowlgate: Scandal! We heard about some leaks revealing some players got a lot of fun playing Dustbowl and even don't write review about it!
Let's spread the truth and the hashtag! ^^

More seriously, Priabudiman, did you wrote a review on steam or somewhere?

Anyways, thx for the good words!
It means a lot to us and gives sense to our work.

The gfx are absolutely amazing! *__*
Thx AprilSkies! :)
Don't tell him, but Mark is an amazing artist. ;)
I must admit I felt in love with the C64 palette myself!

Thx a lot for the good words Ilyich, it's very nice to read. :)

At early dev stage, I didn't read the end of the story (written by Mark) to keep some surprise.
First time I played the end, I had a blast too, very strong and emotional moment for me. :)

Also, let's reveal it here, it's not really a spoil (I don't reveal the content of the end) :
Spoiler
There are 3 ends... ;)
[close]

Ilyich and you all (I guess you are millions ^^), if you like the game, please consider writting a (small) review on Steam, it's important. :)

Thx, cya and take care all!

To all survivors!

We have two good news:
1) The version 1.3 is out with more content and a far bigger map*
2) It's steam summer sales so the game is 20% cheaper (7â,¬19)

It means 2 good reasons to buy it! :)
So gogogo! Let's play !

http://store.steampowered.com/app/367110

*About the map, previous one was a single room of (roughly) 3000x4000.
It caused some slow-down and even crash.
The new map consists in 6 rooms, each is 1500x1500.

This game needs more popularity
Indeed :D
We are working on it, but the best propagandists are players.
Thx to all of you who already spread the word, about others, you know what you have to do :D

Feedback are very positive, a small community is growing, we have to keep working and pushing.

Btw, I compiled some opinions about Dustbowl here:
http://www.indiedb.com/games/dustbowl-a-wasteland-adventure/forum/thread/they-talk-about-dustbowl

Some extracts:

"Dustbowl came literally out of nowhere, and it's possibly been the most pleasant surprise this year to date. It's had no press, and no hype, and that's one of the greatest injustices I could possibly think of, because this is a terrible disservice to what is possibly one of the best RPG's outside of the AAA releases.
Verdict : Essential.
" Hobbes (from Steam Original Curators Group)

"Very addictive. It's like a dose of Mad Max mixed with Fallout. Can't wait for more games like this.
Takes me back to my old RPG days of old :) 5/5
" STVOY{} (Steam user rating)

"Man, I planned to play @DustbowlAGS for a few minutes and then get onto Witcher 3, but @DustbowlAGS pulled me in for *hours*...!
Hot gem...!
" Will O'Neill (on Twitter)

"Dustbowl is the most fun I have ever had since the original fallout." Hold Out Software (on Twitter)

Congrats guys! Wow. I remember when this thread was first created and there were no replies yet, and I thought, what a nice game idea. After a blink of an eye, you have already finished the game and it is already on Steam! Awesome!
Thx! :)
Yeah, "after a blink of an eye" (9 months, but indeed we didn't see them), we can propose you all to discuss about our baby on the "Completed Game Announcements" thread:

See you there!

Survivors!

Dustbowl is a post-apocalyptic adventure mixing point'n'click with hints of survival and rpg.
A kind of old-school 2D mutated STALKER with retro C64 gfx.

It's available on Steam for 8€99. (Non Steam version coming soon)
You can join the HUB and share with the community here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/367110.

Here is the link to the trailer:

Dustbowl has a huge main quest line that takes the player across the blistering wastelands, but also secondary quests and soon a sandbox mode.

Castle Master?
#538
Thx a lot Crimson Wizard. :)
For the moment, it seems fixed, no crash anymore, we are continuing tests.
I'll pm you in last resort. ^^

About the "vista" error, I can get it by compiling the default template (but more rarely than with an "heavier" project with more files).
#539
Thx Dave, we feel less alone :D
And indeed, we want to know! Tell us the truth! It's a conspiracy right?!
(Sorry, adrenaline of project end ^^)
#540
Mind, before Dustbowl and with other projects, I have that error sometimes when I try to compile*:

"Unable to register for Vista Game Explorer: Unable to replace resource: EndUpdateResource for __GDF_XML failed: 0000006E
Unable to set EXE name/description: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
"

I never bothered about it, because I always thought that was a windows error and it compiles fine after another try so...
But I'm becoming suspicious with everything those last time...
We use AGS 3.3.3 but I had also that issue with previous versions.
Of course we don't use Vista (but Windows 7).
