Adjust the text box width to the width of the font you're using, multiplied by how many characters you want, but it depends whether your font has monospaced digits. 123456 all look the same to me, so it saves some coding if it does work.

Grim I think you're a little confused, I always thought C&C just meant a comment and critique thread.

The navigation bar should be inline (in terms of y) with the main box to make it even. I think the watermark images work well, there's always something to be looking at.

Tongue in cheek ;)

Of course I'm happy to do your survey!

In future Calin, please don't be intrusive.

I'll do your survey if you promise me that.

Edit: I did your suspiciously probing survey. And I didn't enjoy it.
By the way, you missed my processor off (I have an ), and yes I've just realised my information is of no used to you because of that.
Sorry about that :-\. If it's any consolation my other Windows PC which I never speak of has similar specs, and I use that to play AGS games.

If anybody's interested, you can catch the new episode here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00tc6t2/Sherlock_The_Blind_Banker/

In my opinion both so far have been excellent, but the second installment definitely has a much more developed plot line (and more mystery to boot). Personally I can't wait for the third, for being the last one, you don't know whether he'll meet a sticky end :).

Spoiler

The part when he's being garroted in the apartment really made it clear Sherlock is, after all, only mortal. In the previous episode he manages to dodge death numerous times.

I got a little frustrated at the scene in the sewer, when Holmes turns up heroically, and fumbles about trying to untie Watson's date. Sure it was only a drama... but in real life you'd just kick over the goddamn chair!

if someone can help me then that would be great but if someone can take the game and script it that will help.

I'm sure it would :P. Nice try though.

It seems to me you haven't attempted doing it yet. Use the commands SetRainAmount(80), or SetSnowAmount(80), for example, in the rooms you want the effects. Then set snow/rain amount to 0 in the rooms that don't need it.

The sand looks positively undulating. The palm trees also look good, however their hair should look more like pineapple's. (At the moment they're as limp as a shaggy dog after a bath). But my first impression was actually a desert rather than a beach (the temple-like thing is the main culprit).

I want to see if it was good or not.

It is good in its own way; follow Khris, he gave sound advice to make it look more realistic.
But in future please make sure there's a point to your threads. (Hands up, I'm guilty of this too).

Have a great day.

It's good. It's clear what each texture represents (snow, desert, etc).
But wouldn't it do better with labels? And the way the sea is sectioned in some parts looks strange.

It would be nice to have some more [coherent] background information though.

There's a tribe that only sees (or rather "classifies") just a few simple colours. For example, brown and blue are treated as the same colour (in some weird tribal speech). Anybody know what this tribe is called?

Actually I wrote some code recently that accepted subtle spelling mistakes of words in the dictionary. But it only worked to a degree.

Oh well. Perhaps it's a challenge for BTQ! ;)

A question can exist without an answer, but not viceversa that's why.

True, but give me any word and I can make up a question. That doesn't mean it's the right question.
Give me a question and I can make up an answer. Doesn't mean it's the right answer.

So they can, but nobody bothers to answer questions that aren't there =D

I think it looks good as is, however the castle in the background doesn't look right. The merlons and crenels are uneven, and I'm guessing the keep is peeking up behind the "chemin de ronde"? If so, I'd make it cylindrical in shape, a bigger version of that awesome turret to the left. The windows illuminated in daytime seems weird though, so an addition of some (open) shutters on the windows would be nice too.

Did anybody see the modernisation of Sherlock Holmes last night, on BBC? It was so excellent it warrants its own thread; tension, action, outstanding adaptation, and brilliant actors. I hope it gets good reviews.

Holmes himself was well portrayed. Although a modernisation, the scriptwriters managed to keep his character zany and unusual, making for a nice clash of old and new. It wasn't without its jokes either. (For example, Holmes taking nicotine patches instead of smoking opium: "It's so hard to sustain an addiction in cities these days.")

If you missed it, or are overseas, I implore you to find some free time and watch it here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00t8wp0/Sherlock_A_Study_in_Pink/
(Just to warn, might take a while to load, it's an hour and a half).

What's best about it, there are two more on their way!

Edit: Watch the second episode here:

Or the third:

There actually is no mouse, but if there was, it's something I would consider. Or perhaps to highlight NPC names, etc, and link you to a compendium of background information.
Incidentally, (OT) but can one override the cursors in your games, so it uses the default system cursor (as an ultimate solution to having a sprite)?

I'm planning to release a one room demo in a few weeks time, to showcase all the features. So watch this space for that :D

Just as a note, a ; ends the current line of code completely (there can never be anything after it), and = false is redundant here anyway, because Char.Say isn't a bool (either true or false), but a String (it can hold any value).

The function is supposed to work like this: If a character is exchanged with another character, all the Mouse cursor functions will only be able to work for the exchanged character.

I'm not sure I understand. At the moment your function doesn't show any of this.

Welcome to the forums by the way.

Wow, thanks for all the really kind comments.

As far as X goes, will do! ;)

Twitter account would be great, if it was used solely for game production/release news, or other important information.
If they were personalised, informal tweets from some guy on the forums, it would be bad. But it can't hurt to have another medium to spread AGS talent.

Everybody against @AGS would never have to visit it anyway.

Data, I hope L instead of X will be ok? :P
