Coding is the last step, after testing of course. You should be planning your game first?

Davy's side view walks faster than his front and back view.
On Davy's back view he clenches his arms to his body rather than moves them.
Simon does the same on his back view.
Simon looks like he's climbing up a ladder on the back view.

parties such as BNP an UKIP would get a boost and almost veto power inside a coalition?

I'm confused why you're using those two together. UKIP is not an extremist party.

Ps. Watch this BBC video, summing up beautifully the BNP.

I'd like to join up please!

As for trophies, I'd love to create some again, but only if nobody else is interested. Really looking forward to the stories, as before. :)

Hm, I missed out the = after <. Doh. Thanks again, everything resolved.
#1287
Now only the first item is displayed. But no worries, I'll just add a dummy item at the end. Thanks both! :)

Thanks, just tried your code and this is the message I get:   Character.InventoryQuantity: invalid inventory index 0.   Everything works fine until I input the command in-game. Is it me?

It seems if I set i = 1 the error message doesnt come up, and when I try it now everything appears; apart from the very last item in the inventory node, even when player starts with item. Why is this?

How could I obtain the name of every item the player has (in the inventory), and then add the names individually to a list box? I played around with custom properties but didn't seem to get anywhere.

Cheers,
Atelier

Really great game; and good message too.

I bring great news! I just found this great code by monkey, and with tweaking, it does exactly the job I wanted!

Unfortunately it has the undesirable side-effect of not associating the response with the input. :- But not something that is impossible to fix. I said it wasn't. Thanks monkey for the code!

The new line operator is [, but unfortunately no, it doesn't work with a list box. :-\
#1293
I'm using a list box to display the responses for my game:

As you can see it has no problem displaying smaller snippets of text (top), but when it comes to longer descriptions it carries on and on. Is there a simple way to get the text to carry onto a second or even third line? I preferably wanted all the text to still be in the same slot (without having to portion it up), but I'd be really grateful for any other suggestions.

Thanks,

Here's a renga (like a haiku but follows the pattern of 5,7,5 7,7) I just wrote. Its shows what the caterpillar has to lose to gain. A bit patchy in parts so I might go back later for a re-write. :D

Caterpillar

Waddling, gorged on leaves,
Caterpillar, on a branch;
   How ugly it seems.

Bane of all the gardeners...
   Yet a sparrow's confection.

Weeks later, who knew?
Swaddled in a leather coat,
   Hanging, on a branch.

Heedless to the world around,
   Braving Mother's elements.

Only time will show,
How caterpillar changes,
   From bane to beauty!

The black coat is shed,
Thrown aside, tossed away and
   Lo! caterpillar!

Is no longer a 'pillar.
   But a gossamer beauty.

Queen of all insects,
Married to the dragonfly;
   A caterpillar?

Surely a diff'rent species,
My eyes: do they guile me!

Thanks all for the input!

But races could have some impact on the story, I mean some histories could be motivation for certain events, maybe humans have emerged cause they were cast out of heaven/Asgard like place, or rather lost their immortality etc.

This seems a really great idea, I'll definitely use [parodies of] the Nordic gods somewhere.

how about going anthro? Like, wolf people, then you could base their culture around the way real wolf packs work

This is a wizard idea too! Reminds me of something I saw called Wolf Man, who tried to accept his girlfriend into a pack of wolves. Heh. Or perhaps a branch of yeti people; shy, reclusive.

Medieval Fantasy, with a Scandinavian terrain - forests, mountains, tundras, castles... in an age where man has just begun to emerge on top but life is still humble.

I really like the idea of lesser sprites from folklore :D

Ahem, awesome!

Sharp observation. Seeing as it's not a MMORPG I'm not having two classifications, just a species.

So let me rephrase: Which race are you? :P

In my game, Text Quest, the player gets to decide which type of beast they are. Depending on which you choose the plot will be slightly changed, you'll be able to access exclusive areas, talk to different people, etc - but which creatures should make it onto the list? I'm posting this because I wanted to steer away from the hackneyed choices of human, elf, goblin; but while being different they still need to retain some of the traditional RPGness, and also offer a wide choice for players.

So, which class would you be?

Really nice. Pop out a few more and you've got yourself an album!    :D
