I blatantly missed the deadline so is my entry still counted? (It's in the first post). I had it all ready but never managed to post it...

I'm going to go with Macay, because a lot of effort has clearly been put in and the third and fourth line is excellent!

Knocking out the competition? ;)

Atelier, here's with the new menu colors and all the text colored.  I darkened the current page Home a bit, and lightened the mouse over graphic.  Is that better?

Yep, that shade of orange is so much better in comparison to the older one, and I like the way only the underside is lit up.

Welcome to the forums Jyan! We have a special thread designed for recruiting teams right HERE. Good luck with your game.

To me the perspective looks good, but you have some scaling issues. Those parking spaces are diddy and the furniture inside the rooms are much too small. I suggest you make all the windows a uniform size (at the moment all of them are bigger or smaller than each other) and blocking them out with curtains so there's no need to pixel the inside. The grass (great textures by the way) could have a path winding through, towards a main door on the front.

Just some suggestions, but it might help to stop the background being too top-heavy.

May this decade bring us prosperity, more grants for global warming research, and space elevators. Happy new year! (To everybody who's one year ahead of me too! :D)

I think Andail's excellent dictionary should be converted into a sticky thread somewhere on the forums. I'd love to do this myself and a mod could glue it later, or just do it and glue it themselves.

I like the sound of having tags to show which version they were made for. Or some system of putting the AGS version in the thread title might work.

I'll also use this opportunity to plug my idea of renaming the Hints and Tips section. Lots of people mistake it for BTQ and post for help with their games, which then have to get moved or deleted or locked. Or changing the tagline might be an option.

If anybody is interested in designing a new high-res GUI for my game Text Quest, then please PM me for more details.

Sounds intriguing. There's a section here if you'd like to post it for critiquing or something.

Argh I had this idea just a few days ago! :(

So thanks for doing all the work for me. :)

I think it sounds like a good idea, and Mods as a middle man even better. So... if I made the game entirely about the product would I be drinking champagne in a penthouse by Sunday? I mean, would a company be willing to pay for me to make a game about their product? I picture that now. I hand over my portfolio to the fat cats. Impressed by APP-PACK they sign me up for a million dollar contract starting at sunrise.

Then the one with the pin-stripe suit snaps his fingers and I'm back in the room. :'(

I made an example to show how you could rearrange the different parts to make it much clearer. I'm assuming it's a modern house so I've changed the colour to an off-white rather than grey.

By all means use what you have already, but look at this to give you an idea of what you could move around.

PS. Backgrounds for the first one are almost finished! ;)

Happy Christmas! I'm sure lots of people have had a Merry one. ;) Not me I'm a monk so I don't touch the stuff. Perhaps I touched some of Brother Lucius' raspberry wine behind the rectory but nothing more! Plus a cuddle in the cloister with Sister Marge.

Critics' Lounge / Re: Village Hall - Updated

Today I added all the objects together to give the first signs of a finished background.

The large area of wall on the right will be filled with a banner for the village's Giant Vegetable Competition, and perhaps a few other paintings. The floor has been left white, because I wanted to check that everything was right before I finished off. Please critique as usual!

PS. I really struggled making tables and chairs that were in proportion with the men, but I'll have another go in the next few days.

I can see mine still, and yours. Who has brought this upon us? :'(

Edit: Ahh, I think this is karma for nicking my hat from Poundland. I'll send a quid in the post tomorrow to HQ, then things will return to normal. Sorry everybody.

I really really love your website! The colour scheme is perfect and everything's really clear too. Talking about the colours, I think that the orange you use for 'Home' would be much more suited as the highlight colour for the tabs, rather than that other dirty orange. I suppose you could then make the Home tab the same colour as the others, or keeping it permanently highlighted like that would be just as good. People will know where their cursor is.

Hope this helps.

Sorry to thread-jack Gluestickman, but I was just wondering how character names could be displayed in a similar way when you hovered over them? Using the same label for objects and people, of course.

Same to you, in poem form too!

Has AGS been featured in The Sun? I must have overlooked that. Still, that's not the only thing I overlooked.

Nobody's commented on the actual game yet, so Danman, well done! The graphics are much improved than the ones you posted on CL, and the character sprites are fairly decent too.

PS. I'd offer to help tidy up the graphics, but then it wouldn't be all your work to give to your sister. If you like, I could help with the graphics before you create a profile in the game database, and after you've given it to your sister?
