I'm so proud, my inebriate words are prophecy:

Quote
Are you a mere thread upon a forum or are you the manifestation of a higher being twhich we seek to satisfy our most internal and infernal conflicts which plguaeg the huamdn minds?

As maudlin as it sounds, these forums have helped me through some tough times too in the past. You'll be ok miguel, perhaps become a travelling onion salesman for a stretch, that worked for me.

On a lighter note, I'm sure most of you would definitely have come across this news: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/brazilian-priest-curse-german-players-voodoo-before-world-cup-semifinal-1455556

Tl;dr the text of the article, but wouldn't poking a pin into an effigy of a Brazilian player cause those things to happen to the Brazilian team? That's Voodoo 101.

I have no idea what possessed me to write May (wtf)

By the way, just in case anybody thought I'm genuinely trying to bolster my swag, I'm wearing the t-shirt so ironically it may burn me.

Thanks Ghost, a really creative entry too! You win this month.

Is it possible to have negative swag? :-X

Well, negative swag means you don't care about accruing swag, so paradoxically negative swag is actually positive swag.

This will help you increase your swag rating:

PS. I genuinely just bought this shirt, I saw a tank top version on imgur.

I thought you meant "a bit" as in "a while", as I only posted it at midnight :-D Jolly good then, good luck!

Hi granary, and welcome to the forums!

Unfortunately, the rules state that you can't compete with material you have made before the competition. I'm afraid you won't be able to enter with your current project, if you have been working on it before the guidelines were announced.

Having said that, I look forward to seeing it released one day, the art looks very promising!

Topic: 'High School'

This month's guidelines were set by AprilSkies:

Only one rule: Create a game set during high school times.

Crowded hallways packed with rowdy students, cheerleaders, leather jackets, lockers, Rock'n'Roll, prom, football games, brawls, chemistry lab...
Ok I admit that many of these words are just clichés that come from some American movies, but I guess that most of us have a nice memory of high school times: first kisses, first loves, pranks, rebellions, lightheartedness, summer vacation and so on and so forth.

Let me conclude with a quote:
The kids want a little action - The kids want a little fun - The kids all have to get their kicks - Before the evening's done
'Cause they're goin' to *High school* Rah, rah, rah *High school* Sis, boom, bah *High school* Hey, hey, hey - You better let them have their way

What is MAGS?

MAGS is a monthly competition for amateur adventure game makers. The idea is to create a game in under a month, following the rules set by the previous winner. It aims to help you work to a deadline, improve your skills, or provide a kick-start into making adventure games. Regardless of skill, MAGS is for everyone. Voting is based on "favorite" games, and not the most artistic, or the best coded. If you have bad art skills, use it as a chance to do some graphic work. If you're sub-standard at coding, use it as a chance to give scripting a go. Ultimately, people will vote for the most enjoyable entry.

You may get help for the competition, although you must end up doing something yourself. You should however be warned that it proves difficult to organize a big team within thirty days. You are not allowed to use material already created before this competition. Your game must be completely new! Music and sound is an exception; you can use free material that is available to the public, if you wish. Modules and templates are also allowed.

Entering MAGS is simple. First, conceptualise your game following the month's criteria (see top). Second, create your game fueled only by coffee. Finally, post your game in this thread, including:

âœ" A working download link
âœ" The title of your game
âœ" A suitable in-game screenshot

At the end of the month, voting will begin, usually lasting for fifteen days. The winner chooses the next month's theme, and their name and game is immortalised in the MAGS Archive. For more information, please visit the Official MAGS website.

Cool, all entries before the 8th May then please. If anybody has a half finished entry or even wants to start something small it's a good opportunity!

Ok, really sorry to get back to you so late Ghost, to tell the truth I haven't been keeping track of the date since I finished exams. Sometimes I don't know what day it is #studentlife

Of course, an extension is fine - any change to a request for a week? Also are there any other men women or children left standing - yamipanda, Adeel?
#172
Of course, sorry!

That's a very cute video Arjon. I kept a hive of honey bees for a short while, it's a brilliant and rewarding hobby for anybody with the time/patience to get it up and running.

Actually, that's an interesting topic. Should we include a clause in our last will to sign us off from all forums we frequent?

Sometimes I see people on Facebook posting on deceased friend's or family's timelines, and for some reason, I find it macabre. Obviously, I don't mean disrespect if it helps people with their grief. But I for sure wouldn't want people doing that to me. In fact I read that Facebook has a memorialisation service which basically freezes your account if the user has died, so some actions are restricted but you can still view stuff. I just find that ridiculously creepy. No joke, it's a genuine fear that my e-life and the 'socio-electronical' footprint I have made will outlive me. I can't think of anything worse than continuing to exist after you're dead, in any form; especially not on Facebook, but that's a topic for another thread (actually think I made one yonks ago re: my dislike for it).

No, I think it's a ball rest - one arm for each ball.

#176
Yeah, it's a rather dark thought but the disappearance of prolific posters may be attributed to some kind of accident, we would just never know. Obviously hopefully that's not the case here or in any other.
#177
Ah yes, a wonderful example of a French urinal circa the Revolution.
#178
I was thinking about this, in films and stuff people always sit and read on the toilet. I can't comprehend why it takes enough time to warrant sitting down with a full-on novel. Like, yall dudes been skipping on fibre.

Is this the normal thing to do? Is it more about the "ride rather than the destination"? Have I been toiletting wrong all these years? Am I abnormal?
#179
On the theme of efficiency, statisticallt we spend 3 months of our life on the toilet, and think of how that extra time could be used. Well, the clever Twairwnese have come up with a toilet themed restaurant in order to full that time.

See here, with probably even more bad English than this post: http://www.moderntoilet.com.tw/en/about.asp
