Anybody know how to buy a single shoe? I found a brand new converse and would legit wear it if I knew how to find a partner for it.

Topic: 'Alien Invasion'

This month's guidelines were set by Radiant:

The aliens are coming!!! As we speak, Earth is being invaded by the little green men from Mars! By the evil robots of Asimon III!! By the tentacled monstrosities of Counter-Neptune!!! Run awaaaaay!!!!

Okay, so the theme is Alien Invasion. A rather large group of strange extraterrestrials have landed on our planet, they want something, and they're willing to use force to obtain it. The player could be a random Earthling, a Man In Black, an alien invader, or something else; they could want our cattle, our water, our soap opera stars, or basically anything; and it's up to you how the situation gets resolved. If you need more inspiration, may I recommend H.G. Wells's War of the Worlds; Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game; or the classic movie Mars Attacks!

Ending 30th June

What is MAGS?

MAGS is a monthly competition for amateur adventure game makers. The idea is to create a game in under a month, following the rules set by the previous winner. It aims to help you work to a deadline, improve your skills, or provide a kick-start into making adventure games. Regardless of skill, MAGS is for everyone. Voting is based on "favorite" games, and not the most artistic, or the best coded. If you have bad art skills, use it as a chance to do some graphic work. If you're sub-standard at coding, use it as a chance to give scripting a go. Ultimately, people will vote for the most enjoyable entry.

You may get help for the competition, although you must end up doing something yourself. You should however be warned that it proves difficult to organize a big team within thirty days. You are not allowed to use material already created before this competition. Your game must be completely new! Music and sound is an exception; you can use free material that is available to the public, if you wish. Modules and templates are also allowed.

Entering MAGS is simple. First, conceptualise your game following the month's criteria (see top). Second, create your game fueled only by coffee. Finally, post your game in this thread, including:

âÅ"“ A working download link
âÅ"“ The title of your game
âÅ"“ A suitable in-game screenshot

At the end of the month, voting will begin, usually lasting for fifteen days. The winner chooses the next month's theme, and their name and game is immortalised in the MAGS Archive. For more information, please visit the Official MAGS website.

I even increment it by 1 and cause a swag overflow.

This is gold, such a swaggy thing to say.

Nice one guys!

Ok, there's one day left - does anybody else out there have an entry?

Imo the fish toilet is just downright cruel. The ones in the seat basically live their life in two dimensions, not to mention they're pretty much eternally suspended, staring into a vortex that could swallow them up!

I'll go back some day soon to get that elusive snap.

I've heard but few men claiming to see it, lesser still have managed to capture it in its natural habitat. I wish you luck!

I wonder how many households pets have ever mistaken chamber pots for drinking bowls.

Maan I'm so lazy, even 55 words seems a stretch to me now :P I only spontaneously write poetry because I can't be dealing with all that commitment to anything more.

Edit: actually, do you think you could extend the deadline by a couple of days please Andail? I have an exam on the 30th and will feel super guilty wasting cramming time on trying to cobble something together!

Hello Moving threwad, I have heard mich pf your legacy and yet my form pales in comparison to the shadow you cast upon the lives of us meare mortals. I know that it is in your capacity to be humble enough to hear the incomparable unenlighetned words of one of your subservient servile subjects. What is your form? Are you a mere thread upon a forum or are you the manifestation of a higher being twhich we seek to satisfy our most internal and infernal conflicts which plguaeg the huamdn minds? The giving of life which each of us alive did not ask for

Hi guys, Atelier here.

Now, as we all know, the world is made up of many different types of people. From continent to continent we speak different languages, wear different clothes, and have fascinatingly disparate cultures. However, you may not also know that the human race has an impressive diversity of contraptions for depositing our waste products, of both the liquid and solid variety.

I will take you by the hand (but please, don't forget to wash them after we've finished) as we look at the many different varieties of toilet out there.

Squat Toilet

This here is a squat toilet. As the name suggests, one positions themselves over it in a frog-like fashion for delivery of waste. The squat toilet is most commonly found in Africa and Asia, although they can be found elsewhere - believe it or not, the one pictured is actually in Michigan, USA!

Chemical Toilet

Found worldwide, the chemical toilet is invaluable at concerts and building sites, where there is no established sewage system. The body is positioned similar to how you would use a flush toilet (see below).

Flush Toilet

This is a typical flush toilet, and could be said to have a monopoly on the toilet world. Many of you will be familiar with the design. Some have two different power settings, which allows the user to respond to the situation in accordance with its severity.

Wow, what a fascinating variety of toilets we humans have produced! If you would like to learn more, there's probably a subreddit for this kind of thing. Atelier out.
