deja vu...

that kind of technique was used in the first two Oddworld games, i think the backgrounds may have been movie files, i remember one scene where Abe steps into a train and it seamlessly animates and pans round to show an entire scene, then when it stops it pans round the face on view again, it was might impressive.
if i make another game i'd actually like to make a 3D model of the place it takes place in so i could do stuff like that, so like if the character turns a corner you make an animation of the camera panning round instead of fading in and out, it looks neat...

anyway, i'm off to experiment on myself... now where did i leave that cactus....

another nice utility for creating menus is MultiMedia Builder MP3 (http://www.mediachance.com) it's not free though, unless you register you'll have "Created with MultiMedia Builder MP3" at the bottom of the screen, it's actually worth "registering" though, it has lots of neat scripting features and you can have custom shaped menus...

this is Bob, Bob is a pink eyed snotgoblin, his special power is the ability to hide stuff that i'm looking for and scratch my favourite CDs while looking angry, upset and cute...

that's a very nice background you've managed to make (the jpeg compression kind of messes it up though, try posting a PNG or if it's under 256 colours, a GIF version), the water is very nice, you might want to try adding some more colours to the walkbehind area though, maybe some dark green or blue on the parts that are leaves and grass, nice work.

And what is wrong with those jokes?

well, i think he might want some funny ones

on PS2 and Xbox? hmm, it must be 3D...

have you only really just discovered stereograms?
they were, apparently, all the rage in the mid to late 90s, i've never been able to make any of them out though, i just get dizzy, i prefer looking at actual pictures...

who says adventure games can't be about lesbians?
sure, it's a stupid idea, but it could end up being a good game, if you ask me it'll make a nice change from the typical types of adventure games characters, and if you don't know what they are then you haven't played enough games...

i've only managed to get it working by running it in a window and with a 20mb cache, i also freed up more ram and more hard drive space before i tried running it again, i've yet to try run it in fullscreen again, i also turned anti-aliasing off...

evil, i wasn't lashing out, i was merely asking a question, and i haven't lashed out at anyone lately, not that i can remember anyway.
if anything i was trying to be helpful, as colour cycling saves people from having to do lots of animating and making the size of the game bigger, anyway, no need to apologise, i'm used to people being wrong.
#1356
don't a lot of older adventure games use colour cycling for water effects?

you should share with us your vel sprite so that we may all make anti-vel games!

i tried to play the game, and this happened...

is there any way you could make the actual exe file smaller and just have several not as large data files for any future, if any, demo releases?
i think this machine is just having problems loading the exe into memory...
