General Discussion / Re:AGS for Xbox

not everyone has a keyboard for their xbox, and if they can just play the games on a pc i don't think they're gonna go buy one just so they can play on xbox, plus have you ever actually played a console port of a pc game? the text becomes almost unreadable, i think something like GameMaker or Scrolling Game Development Kit would be better to port to a console...

what do you do if the game needs a text parser?

nothing really to do with A, but i found the link to Daisy and thought i'd post here instead of making a new thread...

what is daisy and where can i download, if that's possible, her?
dr. sbaitso is starting to annoy me

or use one of those proggies that records video of what goes on on the screen, you'd end up with a pretty big file though cos it'd have to be uncompresssed so you can make out all the pixels...
has anyone ever tried just asking the people that make the games if they can have the sprites and artwork?
#1507
why does everything always have to come down to how good the graphics are with most people in this thread?
i wouldn't really care if he used the original sprites, animations, sounds and backgrounds in the remake, i mean how many of you wish you could play your old games on your fancy new PCs and operating systems that don't allow you to? an exact remake would allow you to do that, and if you demanded better graphics you wouldn't be playing that old game...

aaah! i can't look at that, it should come with an epilepsy warning! :) (no, really it should)
i noticed a flaw in the rules, it says as many colours as you want and animated, but if it's a GIF we're limited to 256 colours...
can we (meaning i) enter non-animated sprites? i'm having problems animating mine and don't really want to just add flashing lights or something...

okay, here's my entry...

i also made this but it isn't animated and it's not an entry, just felt like showing it to you all...

this kinda reminds me of that awful tv series "Sliders" only this actually sounds as if it may be fun because it's time rather than dimensions...
HEY! wouldn't it be great if he ends up being responsible for creating CJ or somehow gives him the inspiration to create AGS?

i don't speak a word of german but i'm gonna download and play it anyway, in a window, with a translation site open...

i like Beneath A Steel Sky's GUI, i like GUIs that are out the way, verb coins can be annoying and i'm not too keen on the old LucasArts one, selecting actions takes too long...
#1513
i really like the first one better than the second, i like the way the windows have depth too, so that the walls don't appear to be only 1mm thick...
#1514
well, i started playing the game, but all the mindless swearing and stuff about blair and bush just put me off of it, apart from that the art is good, although the main character kinds looks like he's clenching something in his arse when he walks, also have issues with him being completely red...

well, i'm not sure about this, but you could make a big hotspot on the screen that sets the cursor to what it is normally, or just right near the hotspots that change the cursor...

another problem that might come from a passworded forum will be people not reading the rules and then posting stuff like "why can't i get into this forum?" in the other forums which will lead to a long drawn out discussion about why...
i think a lot of the problems are down to people not reading the rules or not understanding them.
i don't know if this is relevant or not but, a few years back there was a potato shortage, and the price of a bag of chips from a fish & chip shop went from 5p to 20p, when the crisis was over the prices stayed the same, which annoyed lots of people...
#1517
well, it seems like the GenGen forum is the problem, so what good will another one do?
#1518
hmm, first there's the thing about how to be a better newbie, then there's this thing that will essentially seperate the newbies from the oldies, so the forums get overrun with newbies because the "elite oldies" are off in their own little club and will end up not caring about the other forums so it'll just all go to crap, i think there'd be less of a problem if some people just dropped their "holier than thou" attitudes...
to sum it up in two words: bad idea

the only time my wrists ever started hurting when i was using a pc is when i used one of those natural ergonomic keyboards, it was just so awkward to type...

what kinda moves do we need for mugen now then?
we already know which ones we need for KOF91, you can't really tell what size the bum is because it's flash and i think RONbat is going to be hi-res unless Iqu is gonna pixellify the art...
