Ugh, don't get me started on the discriminating practices of the sprite jam.

Which makes it even more depressing reading that Andail has limited the resolution to 320x200 for the 'standard edition', in what I guess is an attempt to pander to the disgruntled pixel crowd. Wonder if these practices will ever leave these forums.

dude, stop being a dick about anything that isn't hi-res, seriously.
if you can't do lo-res art then don't take part, not everybody is as good at drawing hi-res stuff as you are so get off your damn high horse.

yeh i mean ffs, just end it already or somebody else start up another one.
background blitz doesn't belong to any one person, it's a community activity and it just seems like loominous has taken it over.

there is an dos old app for making adlib music called Rad Tracker (i also think there may be one called Adlib Tracker), it can't export to any formats usable by AGS but you could capture the music with other software.
it does rely on samples/instruments though, if i remember right a few do come with it as well as some example tunes.
the only thing i can think of for using in FL is the Fruity DX10 VST or anything else that uses FM synthesis.

that was shortly after somebody asked "who farted?" about the camspot order

erm, dude, you just replied to a 4 and a half year hold post.

i always liked the thing that the first two Simon games had where you'd press F10 or F11 and stars would appear over hotspots and items for if you were stuck.

here's an interest fact:
if all the posts that contain a link to the stickam room were removed this thread would only be 5 pages long, although some of thost posts do contain things other than the link. it would be 6 if those were left.

does the graphics format used for backgrounds really make any difference to the size as AGS converts them all to it's own format anyway?
but ofcourse, a 32 bit background/game is going to be bigger than a 16 or 8 bit, so if your backgrounds are using less than 256 colours then make sure you save them as 8bit and only use 32 bit if you absolutely must.

i'm no expert at this so i really should let somebody more experienced answer first but, as far as i'm aware there is no need to make any changes globally to the game to achieve this unless you actually only do want to script this once and not for every door handle in the game.
getting the cursor to change to the action mode is fairly straight forward, under a hotspot's interaction editor there's an option for doing something when the cursor is over the hotspot.
if you did want to save yourself some bother and not add the script for every door handle hotspot then i think it could be done by adjusting the hotspot properties so that they all have a specific property, then you'd just have to script a mouseover interaction to change the cursor mode when it's over any hotspot with that property, although i am not entirely sure where you would this (my guess would be repeatedly_excute_always).
i am making it sound way more complicated than it is though, so i suggest you look at Properties in the AGS help file for some more coherant information :)
