it is often a bit better earlier on in the day when a few more people are usually about, just tonight we had two random people come in and things got a little silly...
but i won't just kick randoms who come in, after all new forum members aren't automatically banned just because we've never seen them before.

one workaround i can think of is to clone the animation using different views and different frame delays and just have the character (or object) switch it's view to one of the faster animations.

i too use Opera because it doesn't need a load of addons to do things that Opera can do by default. it does occasionally annoy me though because some sites just seem to act stupid in it, and i don't like the way it handles url history, but overall i like it.
i only ever use Fireflops if something won't behave properly in Opera to the extent it is either unusable or unbearably difficult to do so.
when i first started using the internet i was a big fan of Netscape 2, it had the neat feature of each instance of it being able to use a different folder for downloading files, which they removed in subsequent versions.

can we have it not password protected in the future? amongst other reasons it's nice to be able to see who is in the room before joining it, and there's never been any need for a password before as random weirdos don't usually stop by (the only weirdos that usually do come there are people stalking Haddas :P)

However, if you know what demoscene is, then you know better, there aren't much demos for macs.

i doubt many people take into consideration the demoscene when choosing which hardware to buy, and the windows demoscene is mostly just about hardware acceleration and increasing system requirements these days anyway, which sucks and kinda defeats the point in my opinion. but if you were to base your choice of platform on the demoscene then yeh, get yourself a pc (or amiga :P)

i really don't mind this kind of 'puzzle' and think it kind of makes sense to include it so that the player feels more like an adventurer doing things because they have to rather than a kleptomaniac just shoving everything they can into their pockets. but this is also why i like inventory limits, one thing that does kinda bug me slightly are the unrealistic carrying abilities of your average adventure game character because it is kinda silly being able to carry 20+ objects about your person with no visible way of storing all of them apparent to the player such as a big coat with lots of pockets or a duffle bag (this also bugs me in FPS games - i prefer a limited arsenal which you can actually see the character carrying on them). Ofcourse, Simon the Sorcerer gets around this problem by storing everything in a magic hat :D
so, i wouldn't really put it down to bad design in most cases but i do think it is true that some people just throw that type of thing in instead of coming up with proper puzzles (Super Jazz Man springs immediately to mind...) and it really can be annoying. There was also a situation like this in Dreamfall - i figured out what i had to do before the stupid girl i was playing as did - and it totally breaks character immersion. I went from caring about the character and her story to just shouting at her stupid unexpressive face.

yeh, some really faggy australian guy got really pissed off with me for saying that i'd rather have smallpox than buy the new christina aguilera dvd that apparently he's on, and then even more pissed off when i said she looked like a man, and then he just started talking about himself and how great he was. but i suppose you get wanky people on all social networking sites and forums...

yes oh yes it's up again under a different name "AGS Roomorama"

although that image does use less than 256 colours my guess is that it actually needs to be using an actual 256 colour palette otherwise AGS is just going to assume it's high colour and not 256 and give you that error.
