you need to make sure whatever you're using to play it (be it a dvd player or software) isn't set to use 5.1 stereo, there is probably an option on the DVDs in a Setup menu that allows you to choose the audio setup.
inserting headphones like matt suggested WON'T do any good as you'd still be trying to play 5.1 sound through stereo speakers.

General Discussion / Re: Scored myself a URL!

i'm not sure but i'd think that myspace probably own the urls that people use so you most likely wouldn't actually be able to sell it to anyone, atleast not legally.

Miami Vice is just a terrible and extremely boring movie that doesn't try to do anything original at all, i was so bored with it i didn't even see the ending, but i'm guessing it ended in a gun fight and an explosion.

Revolver: a ridiculously over the top, weird for the sake of it, steaming pile of utter crap that Jason Statham and Ray Liotta should be ashamed of themselves for being in. It never really goes anywhere and is just full of rubbish that doesn't need to be there, like the elevator scenes. They didn't even explain SPOILER
Spoiler
how those two guys escaped from prison

which was really dumb, i'd rate this in the top 5 worst movies i've seen. But atleast i actually managed to watch this one all the way through unlike Miami Vice, this is just a bad movie, whereas that is a boring one.

Linus Bruckmann has ridiculously high system requirements, that's all.

well no, i've read more issues of PC Gamer with other AGS games in and they always put high system specs, they put 1.5GHz for The Shivah too.

PC Gamer really seem to give ridiculously high system requirement information with AGS games...

i once spoke with dave gibbons and he said there were talks of a sequel shortly after the first game, but for whatever reasons it didn't happen.
i'd rather there was never a direct sequel to the game, perhaps some spin-offs like something set at Camp Morrissey or in Hobart City but with a completely different cast of characters.
but no BASS game would be the same without the 2D comic backgrounds, 3D just won't do it justice and it'd probably end up just being another mediocre 3D adventure attempt.
i would, however, love to see some kind of deluxe version of the original with the artwork scanned at a higher resolution and the characters redrawn in a hi-res comic book style, and it would be very awesome if they got the original voice actors to re-record the dialogue. but they should definitely keep the cheesy music the way it is :)

He does accept PayPal, is that more safe? Will that help me?

PayPal is perfectly safe (but unfortunately it's no gaurantee that you'll get your itemÃ,  ;))

how the hell will that help? you probably just want to email the seller and swear at him...
but anyway, you could contact ebay and ask them for advice, or if he will accept PayPal you can always just setup an account using your credit card.
#509
that's nothing, he added me to his msn contacts list and started swearing at me.
#510
you really shouldn't be giving out advice on how to behave on these forums...
#511
only if you have a fixed IP address, and you could always use a proxy to mask it anyway. so behave.
#512
enforcing the rule won't work because people can just lie about their age and if they were banned they could make another account under a different name with a false age. but ofcourse if they cared enough to do that they might just start behaving a bit better.

:-\? Yes I know I'm 12, but people say I have the maturity of a 16-year-old (I know this doesn't sound like me on the forums, but just ask Akatosh. He thought I was 16! ^^)
most of the 16 year olds where i live are even less mature than the 12 year olds, so when you take that into consideration those people are right.

Rez started off as all wireframes which got filled in with colour as you made progress.
i had an idea like yours when Darwinia was first announced and thought it actually would happen in that game, but alas it did not.

General Discussion / Re: Buying a Domain Name
Mon 12/02/2007 22:20:57
i got my domain name and hosting from www.dreamhost.com
the download/upload speeds aren't amazingly fast but it's a good cheap hosting solution and they keep increasing your webspace and monthly bandwidth each month. they also accept payment through paypal which is one of the main reasons i went with them.

i remember seeing a GiP a few years ago which used graphics from government/public information leaflets (like you get on planes), but i think it's disappeared off the forums now.

is it an actual external drive or just an external enclosure with a normal IDE/SATA drive in it?
if it's a normal drive you could, but i'm not expert at this, try running chkdsk although i'm really not sure if it would help.

i'm pretty sure i've had The Neverhood running on my win2k pc without any problems, although it wasn't the ripped version from underdogs, it was a full cd image from another abandonware site.

General Discussion / Re: MTV=Tool Of The Devil

there are like 5 different MTV channels here, and they're all shit.
i used to like watching MTV in the mid 90s because they actually did play music, but i mostly watched it for Most Wanted and Beavis & Butthead...
