to make the movie file all i did was load the original animation into Animation Shop then export it as a 30fps uncompressed AVI (which is 32mb).
fortunately the app i use to make music (Fruity Studio 6) has video playback so i could get the music in time with the action (cool edit pro 2 can also play video in the track edit view), then i just exported the music track as a wav, loaded up Video Studio 8 and combined the two together.
if anyone does want the video track without music i've put it up at http://www.lacksawesome.com/assassin.wmv

the PS2 also pioneered console unreliability (which microsoft then went and adapted to the launch model 360) :P
the only reason i've kept my (second) PS2 is because i just can't be without Soul Reaver 2, and the only real reason i'm keeping my Xbox is because i want to get it chipped to save me having to buy a divx player and NOT so i can play copies...
sadly my gamecube died on me in the middle of playing Zelda64 :( so i'm kinda hoping the new machine will have some backward compatibility function or later addon.

i'm interested in buying all the new consoles, but i'll only buy a PS3 if Sony make a sensible controller or a convertor for the old ones, and go back on their decision to make the only video output HDTV (if that's even 100% official and not just a rumour), because people aren't going to want to pay the ridiculously high price of the console and then have to go out and buy another tv and then have to pay £50 each for a game.

well the N64 should have been the Super Duper Nintendo, that would make the Gamecube the Super Super Duper Nintendo which means this one should be called the Super Uper Duper Nintendo, which would make the abbreviation sound like "sudden".
also i think that Nintendo would be better if they shot that guy that does the voice of mario with a really big gun.
but i will most likely buy a Wiivolution anyway because it's cheaper and i like the idea of using that controller for FPS,  and they might decide to make another Doshin the Giant game...

i seriously believe that a name can make a lot of difference to how well a product sells.
i think the Nintendo DS would have sold better if it had been called the Gameboy DS, as the Gameboy name sells.
they should stick to calling it the Revolution because most people who are going to feel stupid calling it the Wii are going to call it that anyway (it's like all those silly people who refer to the original Playstation as the PSX), plus that name suits Nintendo's whole "we want to revolutionise gaming" agenda.
plus if nintendo go bust from it the headlines on sites will all be stupid stuff like "Go aWii" and "Nintendo go Wii Wii Wii all the way home" or even "Wii are teh suck"...

paintshop pro won't apply an anti-alias effect to the Paint Brush tool until the size is set to 4.
there's no real option to turn it off on the paint brush tool but if you set the hardness to 100 it won't apply any.
i think the line and shape tools have anti-alias turned on by default but the option to turn it off is right there in front of you (as long as you have the tool options menu on).

the first thing that strikes me about that first picture is that it's saved as jpg so you're going to get all kinds of distortion around the edges of graphics.
although ofcourse you may have just saved that image as jpg for the sake of posting it and may not be saving as jpg and then converting to pcx to use in AGS...

players such as VLC (www.videolan.org) have a screen capture function and most video editing software does too.

well really it's not up to the people of this forum to do your research for you.
i haven't played any of the recent freeware games on that site or any independent games lately, i just know they have them.
also, i think that the castlevania holds it own as a game rather than a mod as it's built using the engine rather than as an extension to the original game. i mean after all, people don't consider Deus Ex to be an Unreal mod just because it uses the same engine, but i see your point.
if you want more on independent games you should check out http://www.igf.com/

if you want to review another 'remake' then you could try out this Castlevania remake done with the Quake engine.

also, MegaGames have a freeware section which is regularly updated.

well it wasn't actually "Rolf" that made the animation, he made several poses and somebody else animated it.

every day is CJ appreciation day!
i really like AGS because when i'm bored i can just make a stupid one room game with just one character and some music and absolutely no puzzles (i've made several of these) and imagine how good it could become if i wasn't so busy not working on it...

why not make the trophy a smaller, golden version of the winning entry on a pedestal?
