how do you know that wasn't the style he's going for?
if you check out his logo post you'll see the graphic style is a lot different to this.
i've played AGS games with much worse graphics than this.

you're just a big stupid .

*sarcasticaly*: mmm, yea that sounds real matureÃ,  ::)

look I'm just giving my opinion- let me ask you: would you want to play a game with these types of graphics? i don't think you would. the game could be absolutly brilliant but if the graphics don't match then it would let itself down immensly.

i would play a game with ANY type of graphics because i'm not a graphics nazi like you obviously are. and this isn't the place for your opinions, it's the place for critics. and besides whatever you may think, saying that it's crap is not critics, it's just rude, not even i'm that rude.

just because you don't want to see that style in the game doesn't mean everyone holds the same opinion. you're just a big stupid that can't spell.

perhaps the game isn't fully compatible with the version of dosbox you're using. check the compatibility list on the main site and/or try a different version.

keep pressing CTRL-F12 (might be F11) to up the CPU cycles. basically you need to emulate a faster pc.

this is the critics lounge you prick, not the "my arseheaded opinion" lounge. where the hell did all these graphics nazis spring from all of a sudden?
personally i like the sprite but i would take note of what cpage said and fix it so that he doesn't seem to be leaning to the left so much and perhaps give him a mouth for greater expression.

it really isn't that hard to find midis, just stick "midi downloads" into google, just put a little bit more effort into finding stuff yourself and you'll realise it's not that hard, this question has been asked time and time again.

i used to own C++ For Dummies, i remeber it recommending that i read C For Dummies first or atleast acquire some knowledge of C first.

i really used to love listening to midi when i was using a pc with an SB16Ã,  :D

edit: i just put together a collection of 27 midi's i've started (some are actually even kinda finished) for various projects, for fun or to be used as ringtones.
i've also included the midi conversion of the RLBAT theme, a midi version of a mod that Inkoddi made (inkmidi.mid) which i added some stuff to, a tune i entered into an contest ages ago and pretty much anything else i've made that i could find. most of it is probably utter crap though...

music contests with rules like this generally don't get many entries so you could end up seeing a repeat of your last contest.
not everyone that makes music knows about and/or knows how to use scales, or even likes being limited to them...

well legally the other person shouldn't have stolen it :P
#652
well i'm no lawyer but technically speaking it shouldn't be considered illegal to download a game you have already bought as you didn't purchase the actual code rather a licence to play the game, hence the End User Licence Agreement (which nobody has ever read and you can't actually read and agree to with most games until AFTER you've bought them as somebody who recently wrote into PC Gamer UK pointed out)...

yeh i'm quite content with my hardware firewall, but Netgear have told me it's best to also use a software firewall as the one in the router won't stop outgoing traffic and any incoming traffic it produces.
but so far the firewall has turned out to be more use than the actual router itself so i don't bother with a software firewall anymore.

Most likely my RAM. I have 127 MB of VRAM on my old comp. Could barely play Warcraft II and Diablo II on the damn thing.

odd considering that the system specs for Warcraft II are a P60 with 16mb of ram, and specs for Diablo II are a P233 with 32mb ram...
i remember playing Warcraft II on a P133 with 12mb of ram just fine.

i remember when people used to be happy with these kinds of graphics in AGS games.
personally i think sprites suit the backgrounds and you shouldn't worry too much about drawing beyond your abilities just because there are better looking games out there, it's your game and it's going to be unique to you so use your own art style.

the review i read of Still Life made it sound a bit rubbish, and Fahrenheit isn't an adventure game.

I appreciate that the violence icon isn't particularly clear (no offence Boyd, your icons have lasted very well ;) ) but if anyone thinks they can do a better job in a 20x20 image then feel free to post it here.

heh, i was actually very surprised when they were used in the first place as i did think they were kinda small...
