I don't get all this bashing people just because they like IE. Get over it.

I've dabbled in web design a little so I *know* you have to jump through hoops to make your sites look pretty in IE aswell as the other browswers, but for actually using the internet I don't see what difference it makes what browser you use so long as you are comfortable with it.
But you said it yourself. You have to jump through hoops to get it to look right. Some of them are pretty tiresome and insane hoops. Hence the tax (or to be more accurate, the joke...I don't think anyone would actually pay the tax). Since most other browsers are objectively :P better than IE, they figured "Why should we have to go through that hassle for what is probably someone too lazy to update/change their browser?"

Also, I don't think you'll find a lot of people who disagree that GIMP is a horrible horrible horrible piece of software as far as the UI is concerned. :P

Aren't the icons simply Sam 'n Max ones that have been recoloured to look like (caucasian) human skin?

* Babar  is sad he didn't pay closer attention to the books Ponch mentioned before they disappeareded. SUSPICIOUS!

I don't think I had an actual art book when I actually started drawing stuff...what I got I got much later, and I guess it hasn't really sunk in yet :(

I did spruce up some skills with those little concept art things they had at the end of these graphic novels I had. Phil Norwood was VERY helpful :D

....AND IT IS FUNDED :D. Lets see how far over it goes in 20 hours. Do I hear a 600?

I...I guess I may be :(.

Maybe someone else whose name starts with J? Had a website with a huge list of spritesheets from several adventure games.
#1051
Hey Jannar! I didn't realise you were gone!

Is your sprite site up somewhere still?

Not REALLY an adventure game, and not really new or anything, but I recently played Bastion, and it has amazing narrative and story presentation :D.

That, and for old, Grim Fandango's inner monologue on his adventures was incredibly awesome and witty.

General Discussion / Re: Game rage
Wed 30/05/2012 19:37:31
I usually vent my game frustration in-game. Occasionally (like when I'm trying to do  specific segment and I keep dying), I rage out and instead of sneaking and potioning and setting up spells or whatever, I just run up to the boss (who usually has some high-health drain melee attack) and continuously blast things. Sometimes it works!

Actual raging was more done by me when I had a much crappier computer. Things would sometimes work, sometimes not, sometimes hang and quit the game for no reason, sometimes I'd get the bluescreen, sometimes restarting would cause it to hang during the booting up.
I used to alternately smack my computer casing while yelling at it and caress it while saying "Please, just this once don't hang! LET it work! Let me get past this bit at least!", and make promises to it, which I then didn't keep. :P

Considering that everybody knows everybody else on these forums personally, they never have to resort or restrict themselves to lies about the previous persons avatar, name and personal text. :P

Armageddon is training an army of transdimensional rainbow nyancats to take over the land of Oz for the Wicked Witch.

And since I'm almost 100% certain about it,

With commercial games, it becomes necessary to advertise and spread the word. Which is how they become more "famous". Advertise your freeware game as much, and it would probably become just as famous (if it was any good).
