Scotch is...on a hiatus, I hope.
He's in Wales where....they only have sheepnet?

Here's hoping he comes back at some point. Ice Candle Games await!

...does that count as a word?

I'm more troubled by LimpingFish's lack of quotation marks. That program will throw back an error!

I actually have Alien Time Zone mentioned on my CV :D.
Then again, I also have "Dog Breeding" listed under Work Experience...

People who have Google+ accounts trying to be fancy :P

I think you should be more thankful that so far, Ben304 has only really released 1 game this year, and while it was awesome (mostly for featuring me), I don't think he'll have the sort of ownage of the awards he had the last two years :P.

Just three more months to go! At the most, he could make....12 more games :P.

For dirty Southern Hemispherians it is!

I have a couple of these! Great to see the others.

I miss the days of cool stuff in the box. Last thing I ever got was a yo-yo from LucasArts...

I am fundamentally opposed to all outlines in principle :D.

However, if I'm not mistaken, loads of console RPGs in the 90s used the style of having outlined characters against un-outlined backgrounds, supposedly so that they'd be easy to differentiate. So I don't think it would automatically "clash".

Thank God for that! I don't know how I would've handled being thrown weird sci-fi musical dance movie titles.

Yes, yes it is :D.

Another shot to (hopefully) put you off your incorrect trains of thought:

I'm not quite sure where the idea came about that this was a dance movie :D. It's really not.

However, for a hint,
Spoiler
MUSIC featured a fairly important role in this one.

Yay for this thread coming back to movies I have a conceivable chance of having watched! :D

I have no idea how easy or difficult this one is.

Don't most text adventure creator programs allow for inclusion of a still image for each screen?

If you want loads of animation, you could always code your game in AGI Studio (although it would have the AGI style graphics).

Both the new images you posted make it look a bit weird, because in those (as opposed to the original), you've shrunk down the sprite in relation to the size of the background.

As anian said, in the 2nd image, Guybrush really shouldn't be able to have come that low. But if you restrict his movement to where he's standing on the right (and fill the rest of the ground so it is not walkable), I think it would look fine.

In the first image, with the high-up horizon, the scaling of the room is not yet so much so as to make him look odd, but again, it might look a bit strange when you have him animated walking from up to down or down to up.

To give you examples from where you got the sprite:
Largo Bridge
Bone Tree
Fortress

You'll notice the actual walkable areas are quite small. Of course, Monkey Island also had character scaling (and loads of backgrounds to make use of it), but in that, I believe each gradated level of scaling was manually drawn, while AGS does this automatically. Of course, you DO have the option of doing it manually as well, but that'll just really increase your workload.
