You ought to make the length of rope less. Otherwise one could be a spoilt sport and just tie the rope to the pick axe and swing up to the top of the pit.

You like Mr. T both more and less than John/Joan Cusack :P?

ok, voting has begun!
I had set 3 days for voting, but if that is too much, it can be reduced. The winner will get to start the new competition with their own rules.
My vote goes to Pelican.

My full name would be Babar Ahmed Kemal Mohammad Khan, along with 4 or 5 extra lines if you want to list my clan. However, I usually just take Ahmed to be my middle name.
My mother on the other hand has an even longer middle name(s) - Jasmin Noor Margarete Sharifa Chapman. I think it came useful to appease various members of the family ;D

Maybe you should make the grass before and after the path the same colour? Right now it looks a bit disconnected

I like how Gmail tries to be funny:
"Hooray! No more Junk mail"
or something like that

The sudden change from light green to dark green to red still makes him look like he has a protruding belly. Maybe you could raise the pant line between the jacket up one pixel, or just make the last green pixel lighter?

You are a gfx rookie :o ??
As you say, the faces are pretty generic. You could change the skin tones and the shapes of the faces to differentiate them. Other than that, the only crit I can think of, is that the 2nd pic (I assume it is an ingame BG) is kind of bare.

Fill it up! Put some sort of building on every square inch of the planet. Perhaps you can have a small area without any buildings, which would be the "artificial wild area".
As for names, here are some random ones I came up with:
Vnullf, because weird vowel placement is always a great idea :=
Aardappel, because it means potato in dutch
Shinn'Fel because wrong capitalisation is another thing that is always great, plus it has an apostrophe thrown in
Verspild, because it means wasted in Dutch

instead of the pant waist curving downwards, make it straighter? Or even upwards? Maybe make the arms wider? or move them towards the body?
also, if you want to use a black outline, you should outline every individual part, or just the border. The black outline on the belt may also be causing it to look fat

I agree...the head bobbing looks friggin 3D. However, please let him blink once in a while, otherwise he looks scary

Finally found my camera cable, so I thought I would post this. It is now 2 years old. I wish I had some more recent pictures of myself....I am worried whether I exist or not.

Gaaah! I think I got everyone's hidden message, except for Dragonrose....unless:
Spoiler

The husband is talking about some place that they met at in september, and "everything is there"?

for some places a bottle of coca cola IS a rare thing ;D. Some places only have 'em in cans.
Congratulations FruitTree. Aside from having heard some of pearl jam's music, I have no idea what you've got, but I am sure you are happy with it

(did you know that most artists sketch first and add colors later?)
Arrr...I do so myself, but never used test colours before actual colouring. The idea has its merits. If that is what you are doing ArboriS, then great. Once the colours are added, it will probably be less flat. Perhaps some shading on the right of the walkway (where I assume there will be no light falling).
Other than that, IMHO I don't think your BG is all that flat. It looks like it is right out of a 3D FPS (graphical-wise, I am not insulting your artwork :P )

Perhaps you can colour some of the buildings. I am sure that shopkeepers would add colour to the buildings to attract more customers. Blue and grey only seems a little bland

What I mean is that stuff that has been in space for a while is bound to have been "evened off". You don't usually see an asteroid with a huge piece of rock jutting out. So it does not have to be perfectly rounded (unless it has been like that for a long time), but it shouldn't be that sharp a difference either.
As for the planet, I don't remember seeing Coruscant from that far out in space, but I would assume it would just be one huge gray, with little shadings to represent when there is a huge difference between size of buildings. Maybe some places where the buildings are so high that buildings poke through the clouds. Aside from that, perhaps you could add some space rubble - old buildings, ships etc.

Take everything I say with a pinch of salt. I have no way of gauging your background except by using the "feel right ratio" ;D
