Messages - Babar

#3181
At one time I was spending an inordinate amount of time at a gaming cafe playing CS (a FP....I mean adventure gameÃ,  := ) with my friends. Finding I had need for a nickname, I used what I was called by the said friends. Babloo was in reference to my large mass. Babloyi was born. When I rediscovered AGS and signed up with that name. Later on, after suffering appendicitus and numerous illnesses that all came in succession, my impressively massive frame was reduced to a shadow of it's former self. Realising that I could no longer honour the Babloyi, I decided that it was time to change, and I took the boring path, and chose my own name Babar.

Elaine looks really angry. And cross-eyed. And...ewww...wrinkly. Her eyelids being so dark also has a negative effect. She also seems to have double eyebrows.
EDIT:
And the leg seemed wrong for some reason. Can't really pinpoint it. Perhaps that it looks so much like a drumstick?

the ceiling looks a bit low, that is unless the camera is very near the ceiling. All very nice backgrounds, very space questy, the curving corridor especially.

hahaha lovely icons. It would be nice to colour them on mouse over. Everything should have a comment! But perhaps the sky should not take up so much space on the screen. Great idea to make a mario adventure game. There has been a mario game for most other genres (except maybe strategy). About the bushes...well...it would depend on the relevance during the game. Maybe one puzzle could have a secret passage through a bush. Otherwise just make the walkable area around it, and make it a walkbehind.

It is truely sad that people will resort to things like this. I agree with Czar that this is not something that happens by itself, and is the result of a huge chain reaction, but that still does not excuse what these people did. Like Haddas said, Why children? No "mission" or any such objective justifies the killing of these children. My prayers are with the dead and mourning.

BTW, Farlander, I do not understand your point. How is anything that happened in Abu Ghraib related to this? What happened in Abu Ghraib is not excused by what these type of people did, nor is what happened in Russia excused in anyway by what happened in Abu Ghraib. I doubt they are even connected in anyway. You seem to want to push this point, (you also posted some odd comic awhile back about it), when it bears no relation.

I met the Pope when he came to Cairo. They even showed me on TV with him. I have met the Pakistani president, shook his hands and gave flowers to his wife. I met the entire Pakistani team (how it was back in 97) and have all their autographs on my bat.

there is a talkie version, I got it with the lucasarts archive, and on its own. I have Last crusade already anyways, and even though I have 2 copies of FoA, NEVER! I will not part with it! :P
Seriously, the talkie version was not all that special. If you already have it without voice, there is not really any need to get the talkie

The Chronicles of AGS, from it's humble beginnings to its widespread fame. hehe.... It could be a sort of history book when we rule the world. I'd have had much more fun reading about the Pumaman than Louis the Sun king

I am half blind in my right eye. It has something to do with the fact that my family kept a ton of dogs when I was younger, and I was quite close to them. Something about the dog hair. The result is that I have really bad perception. This unfortunately means I SUCK at a LOT of sports. Balls more often hit my head than me catching them.
I also have this weird compulsive habit. I am not sure if it is a chronic illness, but it is like if I lock my door, a few seconds later I have to check again to make SURE that I locked it, even though in my head I know that it is locked. Small stuff like that.

Happening to me very often now while studying:
"Out of memory. Please close all programs and try again"

And while sleeping, no message, but the screensaver shows up (dreaming)

I had (and still have) a lot of friends that I only met online, but it never developed more than just friendship. A friend of mine from school (in Egypt) started chatting with some guy from Canada, who later on came and visited her. It ended up with her getting married. Even weirder than that is the fact that this was last year, when she was 17.

wow, it is so much better now. The new buildings are really nice. I specially like the ship. The only thing I can think of now is to add different shades of grey to the different sides of the walls in the castle and town. A darker shade where there is less light hitting and a lighter shade where there is more light. Like what you did for the rocks and docks. Other than that, perhaps you can texture the grass, stone, sand and leaves now?

Yes! And there should be a cutscene of a pack of space-zombies exiting a room with 667 over the door :D
This thread has so many great ideas! ;)

Involve ninja's somehow! They are competing with the space Zombies to unleash a new human infused drug on the universe! Only Reggae Reggie can save the universe. He employees the help of the Duck campaign manager to uncover a double deal that the Hitler Clone has made BOTH the Space Zombies and Ninja's to sell of the Human race to be used for the new drug

That mid is just an mp3 renamed..

Sorry.. Converting a wav to mp3 is next to impossible. As a midi is just sheet music that calls soundfonts from your soundcard.

hahahhaa.....I should have known it was too good to be true.

I tried converting Beethoven's "ode to joy" to a midi from wav, using a grand piano as the instrument, and I could still recognise most of it, but it had these warbly extra notes. When I tried something even slightly less musical (a part of "Return to Innocence") using voice as an instrument, it was completely different

Very atmospheric! One thing that struck me, though, was the lack of depth. I agree with the shading, especially the castle and town and rocks and ship, to show that they are 3D objects, and not just drawings on a paper. Aside from that, just minor quibbles. Maybe you could give more detail to the forest on the right, like you did for the left, and show some tree bark in the centre, where the lake(?) is. Maybe you could make the ship smaller, as it now seems huge in comparison to the city and castle. Some docks would also be nice.

General Discussion / Re: A-Levels
Thu 19/08/2004 13:21:37
The A' Level results already came out in Pakistan on the 15th... Cambridge at least. I had done my A' Levels while I was in Egypt (Computers and Math), where it is done in one year. Then I came here, where they do the rest in two years, so I have to spend another year doing Math Chem and Physics. I've completed one year here, but I did no AS's so there are no results for me.

wow... that is pretty accurate, considering it is a MIDI. It must have taken a lot of work though, because when I tried converting (even a very musical) wav to MIDI, it came out all warbly

General Discussion / Re: School-oh no!

I don't think Kindergarten is like daycare. I had KG1 and KG2 as a kid. It is more like Class 1 and 2, but I had those too, afterwards, so I guess it is not. KG was more advanced than just learning letters and numbers and sand playing. Before KG I had "Nursery" which was kind of like learning letters numbers and napping alot. This is when I was 4. But it was compulsory. Even before that there was some kind of "play-group" that I attended. That was a bunch of singing, games and stuff. I think KG could be the equivalent of "prep", if anyone has heard of it.
As for me, although I am not too happy to be returning to school, I did not have much of a holiday. I had started applying for college, and it is a $h1tload of work, especially if you want to apply abroad. My idiot school feels like having exams just as the school starts, which is not doing much for my nerves either

Sorry for the noobishness of that question. I always wondered what exactly MIDI did to make the size so small. About MIDIs then... is there a place I can get Lucasarts game midis? I saw queststudios for sierra games, but I am looking for lucasarts midis.
About SCI Studio, I was under the impression that it could not extract stuff from the VGA games. I will check it out again. Thanks for the help
