Perhaps this will get you all closer on track:
You bend down to kiss her, but she squeals in terror and bolts into the privy.
#462
You're the second person to suggest Sleeping Beauty!
But wrong on both counts.
#463
"There she is. One good kiss oughta do it."

SURPRISE!
#464
Oh right. This is Portal 2.

UGH! Didn't see the last time it was posted, or I'd have chosen a different scene. You're right, of course.

It is not any of these.

The movie is not as old as it looks.

None of these are correct.
And not ALL the main characters are black :D.

Yay!
Here is yours to guess now:

The reason that we would not hear many would not talk about the demo game is because those who play through it and run it would be new people who probably wouldn't talk about it much anyhow.

Rather than finding an existing game to include as a demo game, it might be a good idea to have it created from scratch. Maybe as a MAGS? :D
I'd say an important part of the demo game would be tutorialness or explanation of how stuff is done WITHIN the game itself (even though, yes, you can't copy-paste text from within the game), which precludes already existing games.

Is it Great Expectations?

Thanks CW!
I'm still going through the stuff you linked, currently struggling through building the libraries!

Hello!

I was preaching earlier to someone about how more of the community should be involved in developing AGS, and realised, I'm not doing it myself! :D
I'm not some supercoder, but I figured I'd look under the hood and get a feel for things.
So according to this link: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/wiki/Compiling_AGS
I need a specific version of VS2008 to be able to compile the full editor? Is this still a requirement?
I don't think VS2008 is even available anywhere. When I had a dreamspark account (2 years ago?), and it didn't even list 2008.

So...next question, what exactly is in the Native.dll? Would it be some really low level stuff that I would probably never need to bother with?

(also, sorry if I posted in the wrong place, this seemed the most appropriate)

Through random traversal of the Internet that I can't replicate just now, I came across this interesting article that seems very relevant to this discussion:

Puzzle design is a thing that very much...puzzles me :D, and often I've contemplated switching them out for some completely different mechanic.

this PS CS2 download seems to work. Newer versions of Photoshop have a lot more features. But you wouldn't need them for pixelart.
It isn't being offered for free so much as a download is being offered for people who already have a license. Take that as you will...

I want to buy photoshop but I noticed that there are lots of different versions. I'm only basically interested in doing some pixel art and painting backgrounds, layers and that sort of stuff. Pretty basic and simple things. Is there a certain version I should lean towards and others I should avoid?
Photoshop Elements is the basic version of photoshop, which excludes some stuff, including 8 bit mode and colour channels, which depending on your process you might want. Other than that, if you want to buy Photoshop officially now, I think there's not really any option other than getting the CC version, which is a subscription rather than a one-time payment.

If all you want to do is pixel-art, there are probably more suitable softwares, however, many of them free. Aseprite is free, GraphicsGale is free, Pro Motion is relatively cheaper than Photoshop. GIMP is also free, and is a sort of free equivalent of Photoshop, but its interface takes a bit of getting used to.

Babar - didn't you actually subscribe to the ags subreddit, because if so you should post that link in the sub.  Otherwise I'll probably post it.  I'm looking for more things to post in the sub, and it would look better if more than just myself posts to it.

Again, if you aren't subscribed then don't worry about it.
I don't use reddit, uhf, so probably not. Go ahead! :D

Lots of interesting stuff, as always, thanks! Seems a lot of being an artist involves keeping an eye out for stuff like this.

But keeping that in mind, perhaps we're looking at this differently, but I could totally imagine a full screen-height character in this image, I'm not getting a sense of the looming, huge, intimidating room. Is that because of some other factor that they did not include?

That must've been a great job interview!
"Why do you want this job?"
"My love won't marry me unless I work at Ubisoft".

I made an hourgame called Witness! ages ago, that features a blind protagonist.

Be aware, though, it is an hourgame (i.e. made completely in 1 hour for a competition), so be sure to know what you're getting into (very low production values, very short game :D).
