I'm confused as to what the lighter blue thing in the background under the sky is. If it is the sea or a body of water, the line is much to high. If it is a wall...why is it blue? Or is it some sort of weird lighting effect from the lamps?

I have dosbox and its quite good, as a rule I play my old Lucasarts and Westwood games on Scummvm and Sierra games on Dosbox.
easy to use too simply drag your game onto the icon and go..:-D
Many Sierra games work on ScummVM now as well

Surely anything at least 8 characters long, containing capital letters, lower case letters, numbers and punctuation should be good?

Diary, I punched a hole in the sky
A bolt fell down and cracked a tree
Now the swans are flying high
Soon I'll join them and be free
Then, dear diary, I'll identify
The next game in line for me

Contributions can usually go to the Contribution thread in the Critic's Lounge, so if someone takes issue, a mod can easily move your post there.

Either way, fonts are possibly the rarest contributions, so I'm sure these will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, I'm sure I will!

As a paypal backer, I don't have access to the backer-only kickstarter updates. :(

Woot!

Just got my email with early access!
I see I have an option for Steam or DRM-free through the ashshop site. I was wondering if you'll be going DRM-free on any other platform (ideally gog or humblebundle, both of which I have accounts on), so I wouldn't have to keep track of yet another site where I have my games on! If so, I'll wait for that release, or failing that, I'll go with steam and hope it is playable without steam after downloading!

I liked the early seasons of Farscape, but it went spiralling out of control, and I lost interest when it got a bit too convoluted.
If it is just weird and exotic characters, a lot of good space scifi would fit the bill, though :D.

Balancing fighting mechanics so as to make them fun, interesting and still challenging (i.e. making it the main "gameplay") requires effort and a level of skill and know-how that I simply don't have, so I never tried it. HAVING certain options and abilities are just as important as placing them properly, having opposing options, and spacing them out properly, but I'm not sure there's a way to figure out what works best other than just lots and lots of testing.
There certainly are RPGs that people play also (or even sometimes mostly) for the combat/gameplay rather than just the story- I think Divinity- Original Sin is an example of that.
And yeah, weak or repetitive combat certainly can be overcome by good story- for example, I persevered through some of the small bits of Planescape: Torment's grindy bits because I was invested in the story. But of course, it is not an optimal situation.

Perhaps calling it a "First Person Point & Click Adventure game" could help differentiate it. I mean, Myst was point & click too, but the term has a specific understanding.

I don't remember the specifics of how those other games handled the 2-click interface, but if you don't have any interactions where you'd want to separately USE or TALK TO a person or item, the simplest way to handle the problem you mention is having one button (usually left-click) for USE, and if there is nothing usable at that location, to WALK TO that area (heck, you could have the player character walk to the area before USE too), the other button (usually right-click) would then be for LOOK.

You'd have to be careful to make sure the player realises this, though, because as Radiant said, they might not even realise LOOK is an option. Maybe the first puzzle in the game be a simple and obvious tutorial thing where the player is instructed to look at some stuff before interacting (eg looking for a specific book before picking it up).

I'm still looking for an optimal solution that allows interact and talk to be separate while still being simple and not requiring onscreen buttons :D. "Simplest" I could think of was incorporating one keyboard button into the system.

I haven't bought one yet, other people are giving me so much conflicting ideas. Someone suggested that I should save my money, buy a $200 phone, and then 2-3 years down the line, if I feel the need, buy another $200 phone.

Also, the Oculus Rift has its price now set at $600.... :=

I'm not sure about MAGS games as being part of the main AGS Awards, because there is already a MAGS award for the best MAGS game of the year.

I would, however, feel that commercial games eligible only for 1 main award (i.e. Best Commercial Game) would be an improvement, and I don't remember if I voiced my opinion, but it was the same last time around. Interesting how AGS opinion oscillates, though :D.

Thanks Amelie!

It seems there isn't really any consensus. I guess I could just go with the latest of any of the major brands and be fine..

I picture a game with a stereotypical Black man from the 70's (large pants and huge afro hair) holding a shotgun and dispensing justice as Black Death.

I very much hope you are participating. WITH THAT.

Hello all!
With my recent birthday (and with this time actually having family around) I came into a little money, and figured I'd get myself a new android smartphone.
It seems I keep coming back here for recommendations, so figured I'd do it again :D.
My old phone is an offbrand android using a MTK MT6859 chip (QuadCore, 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM), but that was pretty cheap, and the quality of hardware is showing now.

I plan on rooting the phone, replacing all the default apps (homescreen, calendar, keyboard, dialer, etc) and appearance, so what it comes with doesn't matter if it is good otherwise. In fact, I want to try and distance myself as much as possible from some sort of pervasive "always connected to google" stuff. I'm also (attempting at) doing some android dev, so I don't know if that'd affect things if I want to use it for testing.
I'd like nice hardware features, though (stuff like wireless charging, microSD slot), although I guess some of the stuff I'd be interested in is no longer feasible (FM transmitter, IR :D), should have the usual cool stuff, and maybe some extra stuff.
Still, I'd like it to be relatively new, so that I could be upgrading it and using it as my main phone for a while now.

With a max budget of about $600, any suggestions on a phone? Any suggestions where I could look for options? Most stores seem way more complicated for this stuff, since they factor in contracts or have 'unlocked' phones as some special category. Or should I just go with the latest iteration of one of the major brands (Nexus 6 or Samsung S6 or Xperia Z5)?

Or should I skip out on a mobile get something else entirely :D? Currently I don't have the option to order from abroad, so most other stuff is less available to me. If I was more certain where I'd be in the near future, or that I wouldn't be constantly moving about, I might've pondered getting a nice battlestation of a desktop computer, but that doesn't seem likely at the moment.

And yet another, but this time a gog key, so you'll need an account there.
I've got Divine Divinity up for grabs. It expires some time in January, so you'll have to redeem it before that.

So if you want the game for yourself, just prove you're a human, and you can have it!

What is this teasing with releasing episode 4 first,

Star Wars joke maybe?
I think OUXX updated the links as they were uploaded to youtube, because the order in which they appeared in his first post (which he slowly edited) was 1,2,4,3. Hence my statement. Doesn't make much sense any more, though :D.
