Tonight is Oscar night, whee! It's really nice to see the Oscars with relatively few "locked" categories!

It can also be done via IM, but that of course doesn't enable time limits. IRC is a possibility too, if both players have a board at home.

He seems to be strangely happy about this unfortunate even. Bastard probably has a huge life insurance.

"I would encourage anyone that is making *any* type of game as a hobby to keep doing it. The key to being a great game designer is to design lots of games. Most will never be made, but you always learn a lot in the process. One of the great things about working at LucasArts when I did was that all of us constantly cranked out game designs.

Most were just silly, or concentrated on a single concept that we found interesting. In the 8 years I worked there, only 4 games of mine were made, yet I did close to 100 designs. None of them were wasted time. OK, maybe "I Was A Teenage Lobot" was kind of a waste. "

God damn it, Lovegrove, stop showing them teasers and give the whole thing.

I too blame it on poor medical control, at least in the football cases. Two players have suffered from heart attacks during matches in big tournaments, not some basements. Also, Pellegrino had a temporary memory loss in the match between Valencia and Malaga. These things shound not happen. FIFA should set new standards for pre-match medical examinations.

Always try new ways of implementing your ideas. Don't get hooked to one idea. Try some brainstorming, perhaps.

There's a cute statstic.

There are only two Jews in Afghanistan (who both live in Kabul), and they hate each other.

QuoteThe larger maps shows some interesting things as well. It's like there's a string of globes accross Russia. I can only assume they're towns that have built up over the past century as a result of the trans siberian railway.

Is that a theory for you Barcik?

10 points.

I like the way The most densely packed country [Bangladesh] is relatively dark, but the second most dense [The Netherlands] is amongst the brightest.

Isn't the Gaza Strip the most dense?

Las, I'm still ranting about the AGS awards.

Ok, let's take a look at the list of games that were ignored completely - Just Another Point N' Click Adventure, Keptosh I: Search for Junc, Purity of the Surf, are clear examples. Do you detect a pattern here? I do. All of these games were released in Q1 of 2003. TUM, which was released in Q1 as well, was just too good to be ignored completely, but it still didn't win any award and was left out on categories where it deserved a nomination such as the Music one. Still think it has nothing to do with the community's short memory?

As for the Russia thing - isn't it just because there are so many more people in the Western part of the country?

It is, but look at that 'tentacle'. Why is it more dim to the North and South of it? It's as if there was some center river going through all of that, but I know of no such thing.
