We need to update that last line to "after which he should be added to the PM list for that group."

Yes, that should be updated.  I'm not sure if we ever published the updated format to the broader community, so I guess some explaining is in order.  Based on group member feedback we decided that the PM-only route of communication was a bit unwieldy and have transitioned to a PM/Private Forum format.  This keeps the group business and on-topic discussions more organized, while still allowing for that personal touch with PM communication.

Edit: Updated!

The consensus in AGSA anyway is that we are willing to take on another member or two to sub-in for currently dormant members.  So if there are more people interested in AGS group do post your interest here.  :)

The smallest group is still PCA, though, so I agree that that is probably the best placement for Dualnames at this time.

if you are oblivious of what females want from us men... then I feel so sorry for you.
It's usually something to do with laundry or dishes.  But don't feel sorry: I am well compensated for my efforts. ;-D

No, that's too long.  I'm guessing:

Spoiler
X = "by"
[close]

So that's two of eight letters, leaving six left.  So....

Spoiler
Cover = "lid", "cap", "hat", "top" or something else short, probably three letters.  That leaves three letters for "what she wants".  Stereotypically I'd have said that "she wants" a "ring", but that's too many letters unless we can find some economies somewhere.  Maybe she wants someone who doesn't fart in bed, but we'd need a shoehorn to get that into the allotted 8 characters, let alone the three or four that are likely remaining to us. (roll)  Are their any female crypto-sleuths in this thread who can shed some light on the feminine psyche?  We men are obviously oblivious! :-\

Cover X something she wants (8)

Is there an "X" in the answer, or is that a multiplication symbol?  I was crunching a few equations to try to get an 8 "digit" answer, but I'm not coming up with anything intelligible yet (even by my standards.... (roll)).

No apology necessary, my good Mandle.  Your initial conclusion was the correct one: clearly everyone else has been spelling "puss" wrong all these years! ;)

OMG Baron you weasel! :-D

Weasel-ness confirmed! ;-D  AnasAbdin has indeed unravelled my diabolical puzzle.  Although part marks have to go to Mandle for discerning that there was some liquor involved.  :=  Good guessing, team!

Solution:
Spoiler
(old liquid sugar (3) + endless infection (3)) + margin (4)

old liquid sugar = "rum" (as in it is derived from fermented and distilled sugar)
endless infection = "pus" (as in icky "puss" that festers in an infected wound, minus the last letter)
margin = "room", as in space (or room) to jot notes, etc.

Sorry if this one was a bit too complex.  I'll tone it down a bit next time.  (nod)

Just a few ideas sketched and discussed, but I think our project is now viable enough to announce that we intend to enter (me and the Big P).

Not even close buddy.  Except for your interpretation of 'endless', at least. ;-D

Spoiler
(old liquid sugar (3) + endless infection (3)) + margin (4)
[close]

And if that doesn't help....

Spoiler
Think what would happen to that liquid sugar when it gets really old
[close]

Spoiler
Think more of the symptoms of infection, rather than the root cause
[close]

Spoiler
Think about the margin less as a boundary and more as a space unto itself

But it looks like the AGS-related clue has you folks reaching for the cheat-book already, eh?

If that's too vague you'll get another hint tomorrow. :)

Margin for old liquid sugar and endless infection (6,4)

And if that's not enough jumping in, I have an old one that I remember from a real genuine crossword I once did (I was THAT impressed!):

I can only assume that NA stands for Namibia, everyone's favourite sub-Saharan semi-arid democracy.  "Blunderer" refers, of course, to a politician, and "made out" of course means kissy-kissy :-* (it would be too obvious if it were the other meaning of "getting away with" ;)).  "Usain Bolt" refers to the world's swiftest human, but he's not very good on "inline skates", thus alluding to a competent man out of his element.  Therefore my guess is former bushveld champion tongue wrestler and current SWAPO party chairman of the National Council (Namibia's upper legislative chamber):

So one of the "weapons" isn't a magic marker with which you can artfully defend yourself when you run out of ammo?  Consider me disappointed.  :P
