This was great fun! I met Dave, Ali, Berian, magintz, Dan Marshall of Size Five Games, and some guy called Chris Pumaman or something. Did I miss anyone out? It was a veritable AGS Allstars!

Dave, please airbrush my double-chin out before posting any pics.

Update:
The work on the voice acting comes along very well. Ben does a great job.

Thanks Tino! I'm pretty happy with how my stuff went. Hopefully it'll stand up to the rest of the acting and other production values, which are all superb.

Looks ace!

Did you manage to get automated lip-sync going, or did you end up doing it the long way? I can't see any resolution to the whole issue after a forum search!

I'm proud to announce that I will be providing the voice for Unga!

The stuff I've recorded so far works well with the character's look and with the other actors' (excellent) work, so I'm happy with how it's going so far.

The game itself is great - fun and inventive with great production values and presentation, and I'm looking forward to being a part of the final product!

General Discussion / UK-German Connection
Sat 21/01/2012 15:03:53
Hi everyone,

My girlfriend works at UK-German Connection, an organisation dedicated to increasing contacts and understanding between young people in the UK and Germany.

They just opened a Twitter account and so I said I'd #ff them for her. But then I realised that adventure gaming is pretty big in Germany and amongst young people, so it might be helpful to people if I plug the organisation here.

If you're a UK or German youth (8-18ish) interested in improving your language skills or making social links, or if you know of any, or are involved in that arena (eg teaching), take a look:

Congratulations to Ben on his #indievisibility award!

(And commiserations on Simon Byron's Australian-accented reading of Ben's acceptance speech that morphed into Cockney halfway through.)

Plus: Can you guess which classic adventure game location inspired this scene?

Scumm Bar?

Glad to hear Hidden Sun is still going - the name-checks hidden away in the Ben and Dan games will suddenly become a lot less obscure once it's released!

Ah, that's unfair two posts from Ben out of 4 are in here! I'm so jealous.

Well, I'm more likely to post in a project's thread if I'm privy to alpha builds, you see...  ;)

Darth Mandarb - I have already read the forum rules. The rule I assume you're referring to, states: "If you're interested in an old thread about a project don't post asking about the progress.  Send a PM to the game's author.  If the project has been cancelled and/or abandoned there's no point in bumping the thread!" As I was providing new information about the project - namely that an alpha build has been made and is looking promising - and I already knew that the project has not been cancelled or abandoned, I don't believe I'm in contravention of the letter or spirit of this rule. Furthermore, my post garnered an official release date for the project, so I'd argue it was a relevant and useful one.

I've played a recent build of this, and it's shaping up verrrrry nicely.

You still planning on releasing the two parts separately, MB?

Thanks, everyone! It's really exciting and much appreciated to get these awards!

Congrats to all the winners

Great news! Thanks, everyone, for setting up the awards and voting. It's good to know that after all the hard work, people are enjoying the game. Congrats too, to the other games on the list.

Looking forward to the trophy!
