I'm in Niagara Falls, and we have no smoking indoors.  It's good, because then bars aren't smoky.  It's bad, because the bars don't often follow it and they get fined and have to close.

As for the bass issue, if the bass nullifies the treble, it's too loud.  If I can recognise the song from the bassline and you're down the street, that's bad too.

When I worked at a mall, I'd play Elton and Queen's greatest hits, because they were the only things in my collection "lite" enough.  And the urban store across the way would haev games with the record store to see who could be louder with their dance tracks.

Now, I love dance, I love bass and I own several items from both stores, but when I'm next to our store's stereo and I can't hear Elton (who is screaming about what a b*tch he is at full volume) there is a problem.

It looks great, InCreator.

I especially love the subtle lights above the bar--very effective mood lighting.

And thanks for the ideas--my game has three night club rooms, and I was going insane trying to figure out how to do it.  So thanks for showing it's possible, love.

Elton John and the Cream Puff of Doom:

Demo: August 4th
Full Game: Christmas, '05

Thank you, I've been working on it since Feburary, and others joined in about a month ago, and we all hope it will be entertaining to both EJ fans and AGS fans.

As for the music, we're keeping it to about 75-76 and before, though we snuck a few musical anachronisms in as well, admittedly.

AltarBound Studios Presents: "Elton John and the Cream Puff of Doom!"

(WARNING: This game is slightly adult, mentioning sex, vulgar words, homosexuality, drug use, red dye no. 5 and Mick Jagger.)[/i]

Story: You're not Elton John.  No one is--except, maybe, Elton John--but here's your chance to try and tell him what to do.  Presented with a quest, Elton would rather shop, eat, drink, sleep, go clubbing and engage in some recreational substances.

Set in 1974, Elton leaves a performance, on his way to the pub, when he is confronted by a Familiar Yet Strange Man.  This man rants and raves and is hardly interesting until he tells Elton he must go on a quest--to find the Oracle of Rock and Roll, which will surely make him the most famous musician of his time.  Dismissing it--as most would--as a load of grade A hooey, Elton ignores it until he finds out that Elvis himself went on this quest.  And then he pretends not to be interested.

The full length game will feature puzzles, hilarious animations and even (hopefully) a pinball machine.

Progress (demo):
Elton sprite - 100%
Backgrounds - 100%
Character Art - 65%
NPC Sprites - 65%
Music Arrangements - 89%

And, because I'm an overachiever (sure) here are three screenshots:

Designer Diary

July 4th - All but one of the demo's backgrounds are complete, and most of the rest of the demo art has been finished as well.  The GUI is nearly scripted, with a few minor bugs being worked out.

July 11th - Half of the demo's NPC spritesare complete.  I have to drop this project a few days because of surgery, but I will come back to it shortly :)

August 7th - The demo's art, scripting and everything else are complere, but there are still some GUI issues to be fixed.  As soon as that is working, the demo will be released.

May 30, 2006 -- Returning from a long hiatus, now that I have my own computer.  the demo's bugs are fixed and I am now working on the remaining character art.

It looks great, InCreator!  I love the use of lights/shading you have in the picture.

I was wondering, would you mind if I used it as a sort of template to make a similar room?  I've been trying to sketch a night club looking room for months.

Hmm, that's a three-way tie between "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Crocodile Rock" and "Layla".

I lost a job based on sexuality. . .in a foreign country, too.  That was fun.

Hrm. . .I think a Christian doctor (who really shouldn't bring his beliefs to work) wouldn't necessarily think you were gay. . . .

Besides, they usually don't test for *just* HIV.  Make that appointment with a clinic, and keep us posted.

We're pulling for ya' here, man. . .so you go and confirm you're negative, honey.

That's  the worst, I'm living with my parents right now (unfortunately) for another month.  They're homophobic. . .religious, as well.

I've told my mother. . .but my father isn't finding out till I leave.  It's that simple.

Good luck to you Peter, and I hope you find somewhere that you're comfortable.

Good for you as well, you seem very together on this subject/issue, so I know you'll do well.

Erm . . .I think I"m just going to stay away from those site.  It sounds good to me.

If you like the musical, I'd recommend the new movie, but it's really only good to fans of the musical or of that kind of music or period pieces.  Otherwise, it is teh suck.

I wonder what the hot button issue will be when the gay issue passes. . .

What will be the no-no-no family type then?

I personally thought the problem with "Buster" was stupid because if they're only going to show "normal, ideal" families, they're not exactly postcards.

Maybe it should be "Views of An Ideal Republican Society With Buster"

But even then, there are liberal republicans. . .poor them :(

The radio people (an alternative rock station) were hilarious about it, all disappointed over it.

They were asking, "Well, families aren't all mom, dad and a picket fence. . .when are they visiting the crack-wh*re mom?"

~~Bernie L

I heard that on the morning radio show here. . .

. . .They were making up their own future episode ideas, where Buster goes to San Fran or a bathhouse. . .

Their Gay-Braham Lincoln sketch was to die for too.

Actually, research I'd seen said that 10% of people were born with the gene that 50% of the time causes homosexuality.

And, as for the 250 of 2, 500 AGSers, I think that perhaps gays flock to certain thing and not others.  Not all the time, but there are more gay men in fashion, music etc. then say sports.

Not to say it never happens, myself and Peter as examples, but perhaps programming and making isn't a gay niche.

THen again, I believe both Peter and I are musician. . .and of course art is gay stereotype too:)

Just some varied opinions,

Homosexuality is a deviation or mutation, as is red hair and blue eyes.

This is coming from a red headed, blue eyed gay man. . .
