Modgeulator, I get that error too. It's so annoying, I know my PC is strong enough to run the demo (I mean, I ran Half-Life 2 at excellent settings fine!)... It's quite annoying. I've tried looking around the net for help, but have only found people encountering the same problem.

Wow... And here I thought you just randomly grabbed images from a Google Image search, haha. That's pretty creative, Dave!

QuoteI believe thats an RPG maker rather than adventure but still a good idea

Nope, it's a full blown adventure maker. Granted it's for making text adventures with pictures, but it's still for making real adventures!

Well, the first, and I think to this day, only commercial AGS game would be Adventures of Fatman. It sold surprisingly well, from what I've heard.

Bestowers of Eternity will be commercial when completed, but it's far from being done yet, hehe.

Perhaps we should rethink what ATC stands for...

ATC: Another Two Completed

Hahaha, all joking aside, congrats are in order for both teams. I know how hard it is when you have a deadline looming over you, so I hold all the winners on the highest of pedestals.

That being said, DOWNLOADLINKPLZ?!?

Gamemaka: I think DragonRose was just making a joke. She's a 'lil vixen, that one, hehe.

As for the new BoE...

QuoteLike to the extent of being in 3D and ridding itself of its point and click engine?

First off, I don't see why point and click or 2D games aren't REAL commercial games. Anyway, the game will most likely be only be available to order online, unless we come across a really good publisher/distributor, haha. Well, at least, that's the impression I've gotten from Dave.

As for the game itself, it's still 2D, still point and click, and still being made with AGS. Though the entire game was had a plot/audio/visual overhaul, and is looking fabulous so far.

Awww, Grundy, I can't believe you're abandoning AGS with BJ5. I was hoping one day to sit down and play all 9 of them in one giant AGS collection. Oh well, the new screenie looks good! I know a lot of people will shy away from the 3D graphics, but I think they look pretty nice!

Hey guys. I just got an email from Dave, he sent it out to all the people working on the new Bestowers of Eternity. Seems with all the success of "Two of a Kind", some professional adventure makers (Not allowed to disclose who) have contacted him to write a professional adventure game.

With this being said, he is no longer working on Bestowers of Eternity. From the email:

QuoteI'm glad for all the hard work you all put into the BoE. Unforunately, due to a exclusivity clause with the company, I can no longer work on it. After much consideration, I've decided to cancel the project completely. I know this may come as a surprise, but I do appreciate all the work you guys did. The game really was looking good.

If things don't work out, rest assured that BoE will be started again, and you're all first on my contact list. Hey, who knows, maybe if things work out with the company, I'll be able to make Bestowers of Eternity professionally!

A sad message indeed to everyone awaiting the game, and for us who were actually working on the game (Believe me, it was excellent). Just thought that I should post this, considering Dave has gone out to celebrate and won't be able to post until much later (IE: When he sobers up, haha).

Good luck in your new game, whatever it may be Dave!

Anyway, to get the topic back on, well, topic, I like the look of the game! It's got a very neat style, and the screenshots capture Monkey Island 2 very well, while staying in your style.

Kinoko, it *IS* awesome. I played the demo for PC, and was giggling and enjoying myself the whole time. It's very rudementary action, kinda reminds me of the Super Star Wars games for SNES, if they were redone in 3d... And with Lego... But it's very charming.

I would suggest playing it on a console though. This game cries out for a controller, and the abilitie to play the entire game co-op looks addictive.

I played the demo back when the game first came out, and thought it was amazing. I've wanted to pick up a copy, but I have very little money, and what money I do get I need to save.

But it is really good. The demo isn't too long, but it gives you a real nice taste for the game, and makes you want to play more.

I'd suggest donwloading it even if you're just a fan of normal adventures, let alone interactive fiction. You won't be dissapointed.

The thing that's been weirding me out this whole time, is that the "Star Wars: Lego" videogame came out this week (Or is it coming out next week? One of the two), which follows the events of Episodes I-III. I never saw George Lucas as the kind of person who would allow this game to come out a month and a half before Star Wars Episode III, knowing full well that it'll spoil sections of the movie.

Oh well, as fun as it was (I played the demo), I'll hold off until after seeing the third movie.

You know... I have once to see a front door that has had a space under the door big enough to pull a key through. But that's a classic adventure game puzzle right there.

Helm and Eric... Whereas Flashback and Another World (Out of this World) are very beautiful, and fun games, I believe the topic's title is "Best point 'n' click graphics". Those two games, though they had adventure elements in parts, were played using the keyboard or a controller.

That being said, I really loved the graphics in Gabriel Knight 1 and King's Quest 6. Actually, basically all of the last VGA Sierra games looked amazing (SQ5, KQ6, LSL6, etc...).

In Canada we have 'em. But on ours, you also get awesome picutres, like of a smoker's lung, or of a hardcore smoker's teeth.

General Discussion / Re: Happy Easter!

Just got back from the Sunrise service held at a nearby park. I'm not Christian or anything, but every year I play trumpet in a brass ensemble which provides hymns for the people to sing.

Now I've got Easter hymns from this morning stuck in my head, and songs from "Jesus Christ Superstar" that I watched last night in my head, haha.

One time, this hacker guy stole a big bunch of my friends' Hotmail accounts, changing the password and secret question, etc... He didn't get mine, but he made one mistake:

He stole my grilfriend's account.

For the next two hours, my girlfriend talked to him, befriended him, and eventually got the password he changed her account to. Thing was, it was the same password that he changed all my friends' accounts too, so I gave them all the password, and they all got their accounts back.

The way my girlfriend described the conversation with the hacker sounded very "dialog-puzzlish" to me. Like, from a LucasArts game or something.

QuoteI just hope future episodes are more serial, like the previous versions, and not just one 45 minute episode per story.

Oh, I think once the Daleks get introduced, you'll see more continuity between episodes.

EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

Well, I live in Canada, and love Red Dwarf, so I dunno. And I know a lot of people who know of it too.

As for the new Doctor Who, I saw the episode a few weeks back when it was leaked to THE INTERNETS, and I thought it was really good. Eccleston seemed to make a good doctor, and the show was on the whole rather enjoyable. I do agree with the whole "BBC-Quality" issue, however.

The thing that bugs me, is that you look at shows like "Coupling" and "The Office", and they don't seem to have that low-budget image-quality look to them, yet the new Doctor Who does... Hmmm, odd.
