Closing the drawer after taking the robe arnered a few extra points, and was pretty funny. Also, in a tribute to King's Quest, trying to get in the bucket of the well garners a reply that says "No. Your butt is too big."

General Discussion / Re: AVP the movie...

I too thought Freddy vs. Jason was awesome. As a big fan of both the Nightmare and Friday movies, I found that it was a great tribute to both series'. What I think, is that people have too much expectation in films. I mean, I'm gonna go see AVP, it'll probably be bad, but I'll still love it. Why? Because I'll accept it for what it is.

I think people didn't like Freddy vs. Jason because they wanted to see a movie with character development etc... I mean, if you watch the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, by the third one, I believe, it's not even trying to be scary anymore. The makers of the film just want to kill a bunch of annoying teenagers, make the badguys say witty things, and have fun.

If you watch movies to be entertained, usually you will be, even if the movie is terrible. There's a certain kind of movie that has five different meanings, and deep characters, a gripping plot... Then there's a movie thats fun to watch while you eat some popcorn. Don't get the two confused.

I personally think the sprites are magnificent. Just looking at the screenshots, I can practically see them moving, and animating extremely fluidly. I remember buying that PC Gamer with Warcraft Adventures on the cover, and being extremely excited for it.

It's a shame it was never released. It was probably an excellent adventure, what they had finished.

140 myself. I'm curious... I wonder if there's a different ending if you get all the points (Still, great ending nonetheless)...

Wow, this looks awesome! I love the art style, it just gives the whole feeling that the mental institute is a terrible place that sucks the life out of everyone. It just makes you want to escape that much more. Very, very cool. I can't wait to play it.

YOke, he can have a ripped shirt, showing his "buldging" muscles, and the fact that he ripped his shirt while fighting other aliens. Think Evil Dead for ideas, haha.

Excellent game Sierra freak! The graphics, though simplistic, are awesome, especially some of Cougar's animations (The jumping up to the counter looks exactly like MY cat).

Defintaley can't wait to see more of your work!

Quotethe only way to do it is to do what LGM said.

Well, the PrintScreen does work. It just depends how good you are with graphics programs already. I've done tons of ripping from games using only the printscreen function, completely getting rid of characters, objects, and even whole sections of rooms.

Wow... This is the most refreshing post I've seen in a very long time! Not only does the story sound good, but the graphics are amazing, and the game is already 3/4 complete??

I hate to say it, but FINALLY! I think this is one of the first posts in this forum for a LONG TIME that have actually respected the rules! Another reason why I now can't wait for this game.

Metal Gear Solid

QuoteI hate the direction Hollywood is taking as far as how LAZY they're getting. 3D this, 3D that!

There was only so much "Behind the scenes" footage on the Star Wars 1 and 2 DVDs that I could watch before I got sick of seeing the same Green Screen over and over.

QuoteRemember the movie Josie and the Pussycats... THAT WAS BLATENT PRODECT PLACEMENT

That movie was brilliant. It probably is one of the sole examples on how capitalism can make a good movie. I can see the producers in their board room now.

INT: Board Room
-Intern rushes in
Intern: "I've got it! We make an anti-capitalist movie, about rock music brainwashing people with prduct placement... That way, we can still make big bucks from corporations, but pretend that we don't like capitalism!"
CEO: "Brilliant... But how will we make people see the movie?"
Lackey 1: "Ummm... We could base it on something old. A remake perhaps, something the viewer knows already..."
Lackey 2: "Josey and the Pussycats! You know, that Archie comic thingie? We can get hot girls to draw in teenage boys to see the movie too!"
CEO: "I smell the money already!"

I agree Kinoko! I loved this one as much as 5 Days a Stranger. It wasn't the graphics that impressed me, 'nor the plot (though it was interesting). I was in awe of the feeling, and the atmosphere the game produced. I really hope that someday I'll be able to capture the raw feelings of excitement in my own games as the "Number Days a 'S' word" games give me.

Just a question... But is there going to be any ACTUAL original artwork in this game? I mean, I've come up with about fifty different plots for Megaman games, but I've never commited myself to one because

A) I've had too many projects already
         and
B) I don't like just having graphics made for me

So the question is, will your game actually feel like a new experience to Megaman gamers like myself, or is it just going to feel like a rehash of previous Megaman titles?

About the easter eggs... I noticed the references to 2001: A Space Oddesy and to Halloween. I haven't seen the original "Ringu" (Despite my brother owning it), or have I seen Event Horizon. However, now we need to figure out which day is special to Yahtzee.

What about the day that he left the AGS Forums. I'm not quite sure what happened that caused him to leave, but I know there was something... Perhaps someone who was around at that time could help?

It also could be the release dates of any of his games (Rob Black 1-3, Kent, 5 days)

Or perhaps his brithday. That would fit in with the puzzle about the Captain's birthday.

I've been waiting for your thread about this, knowing it was only a matter of time. Looks AWESOME Kinoko, I can't wait. If it's even close toa s good as Cirque de Zale, it'll be an amazing RPG. I still can't believe its being made entirely with AGS...

Okay, it looks like we were BOTH right... Taken from www.spacequest.net:

Although Space Quest 5 was designed and created at Dynamix, the game utilizes Sierra's SCI system. This was because when Sierra CEO Ken Williams saw that Dynamix was doing adventure game, he wanted them to use Sierra's adventure development system instead.

Sounds like an interesting idea so far. But for the twist... How I would do it, is that once the plane is finished, and you try to use it, you find that it'snot actually a plane, but a weapon or something. Then you have to stop it before it finds a way off the island and attacks civilization...

QuoteEr, isn't PQ:SWAT a strategy game?
Actually, SWAT 2 was a strategy game. PQ:SWAT was a first person "adventure" (Term used loosley here).

QuoteI thought SQ5 was Sciv?
I'm pretty sure it used Dynamix's engine. The dead giveaway is the dialog boxes. Compare them to the ones in Rise of the Dragon, or Heart of China.
