I used the C Harmonic Minor scale for most of the song, using all four instruments, and I personally thought that my tune came out very Indian indeed. In my opinion, when sequecing in midi, you can do anything, as the instruments are only patches, not counterparts of the real thing. Though I could just as easily play a pentatonic or harmonic minor scale on my own trumpet and make it sound good. In fact, I do that quite a bit for warmup.

Well, the intstrumentation is to fit Damien's requirments for the Tune contest, which were: Sitar, Electric Bass, Trumpet and Hammond Organ.

The ending? Well... I just, kinda, got lazy? I knew I wasn't going to use this except for practice, so I didn't write a real ending.

Song I did for the Tune contest. I'd just like some crit because I'm new to the whole midi sequencing thing... What do you like, not like about it?

Zing! Done my tune! Here it is, clocking in at 1:41 seconds, with only a Hammond Organ, Sitar, Electric Bass and Trumpet. Enjoy, I had alot of fun making it!

Oh man... Inkoddi and Eggie, you guys should make a Three Happy Zombies game. It would be hilarious. The character designs are perfect.

Damien: Another question... Any desired length? My goal is to get a finished song somewhere around 2 minutes, but I don't know if I can make even that. I'm only at 35 seconds right now. Music isn't the fastest thing in the world, especially when you're arranging it as you compose and sequence it,  ;)

It's no worries. The normal trumpet sounds fine as is. I can't wait to finish this tune though, it's really sounding excellent, in my opinion. It's got a very, Persian kinda feel to it. Like you'd hear it in Quest for Glory 2 or something.

Finished the game yesterday. Just like to congratulate you M, for making (IMO) one of the best AGS games of 2003. I *REALLY* enjoyed it, and I can't wait for the next installment! Keep up the good work!

A question (Working on my tune right now)...

Can we have a Muted Trumpet instead of a normal one?

Aliens? Arctic? Sounds alot to me like John Carpenter's The Thing. I love that movie! hope to see more of the game soon!

Oh um... Yeah... I knew that...

Curses, I'm stuck again! Nooooooo!

Spoiler
I'm on planet Poomside. I've gotten the screwdriver, but that seems to be all I can do here! I searched but couldn't find anywhere else to go besides the screen with the bags, and the screen with the ship. What do I do?

Oh and by the way, I loved the Prisoner reference!

Excellent game so far! I love all the animations, they bring alot of personality and professionalism (Is that a word?) to the game. But alas, I'm stuck! Ack!

Spoiler
I've been "chased" into the garbage chute on the refuelling station. How do I get out? I got the gun, wire and metal, and I combined the wire and metal to make a grappling hook, but it doesn't work when I try to use it on the opening. Have I missed something?

NEXT: Where's WanderLady actually wandering to?

The building puzzle.

For example: You need to catch a fish. Instead of getting a fishing rod, you combine a stick with some piano wire and a popcan top. Instant fishing rod.

Red Dwarf USA? Blech! It would probably be in the same caliber of the Coupling USA remake, which was almost word for word from the original BBC version, yet sucked ass and only lasted three episodes. You can't remake TV shows just because they're from a different country, it just doesn't work.

Blech!

Here's some crit:

I played the demo. the one LucasFan uploaded... And I want to know... Whta happened to the 3d characters and backgrounds??

It only shows for a quick second, a remade screen in beautiful VGA, and a nice VGA Laura Bow sprite. I like this style, and think it's better for the game than the 3d, but I'm just wondering WHAT HAPPENED? All this time you've been talking about 3d, and I finally get the demo, and it's NOT 3D!

Plus, that wasn't much of a demo. After ALL THAT WAITING, all the new stuff could've been shown in a screenshot.
#578
It gets a bit harder when there's ALWAYS a character in a certain place, but it's nothing a small bit of editing can't remove.
#579
Number six is m favorite, by FAR. I love those curly hair wigs... Wish I had one me-self.
#580
Errrm... Look, a three-headed monkey!!

Swriously though, the demo's been postponed for a while. I'm waiting for Evil to finish Dialog Pictures *Glares at Evil* and hopefully then I can finish the demo. I posted this in the first post:

QuoteDEMO! Has been postponed, due to the adding of dialog pictures, along with small amounts of work done in the past week.

don't worry, it's still in production. I'm also, however, now part of the Quest for Infamy team, working on sprites and animations, so it might not come as quickly as everyone hopes.
