Hey people,
its been about four months since I last visited AGS, and I've barely done any work (on the game). I'm busy with my prelim assessments and school to continue making this game on my own and am asking for volunteers to help me develop it.

Since those screens that I posted I've fixed th UI heaps and added weapons but not much else. :(

I need some people to make backgrounds and object/character sprites etc.
You do not have needed read the book(s) just played the game and know the storyline.

'The Fall of Reach' is the prequel to Halo, and it's novel 'The Flood'. You get less then half the story in the game than you do with the flood novel.

The FoR goes through John's life from when he is 6 years old when he undergoes intensive military training on Reach along with 74 other Spartans, until his late teens, during which they recieve cyborg implants (where the game starts), their earlier missions against rebel pirates, When they get the Mk-V armour, until their first contact with the Covenant,through to about 25 years later at the Battle of Reach, by which time John is around 42.

It will be a side scrolling shooter sort of like Metal Slug, but will involve allies, some (hopefully) good AI, destroyable cover, etc. and will go from side scrolling room-to-room. (It's not really what AGS was made for after all.)
And some stealthy levels (which will probably be point and click like where they infiltrate th asteroid).

Anways, if you like the game I highly recommend the books. you can get the triple book set from Amazon.com.

Yeh, it's based before the first game. google 'fall of reach synopsis' or something if you want to know more.

It will be a cross between adventure game, arcade shooter, and top-view vehicle levels.
Ie. point and click levels where you progress with the story and talk to people, arcade shooting levels using arrows and shoot, grenade etc., and driving levels using the warthog, tanks and longsword bombers etc.

The backgrounds are just quick ones I mocked up that won't be in the game.

This is an early in development game based on the events of the novel: Halo: The Fall Of Reach.

Story: The events surrounding the Master Chief as he and his fellow Spartans carry out missions eventually leading up to the battle of Reach.

fixed. Though it is strange that it won't accept 16-bit images though it will convert them. Probably becouse they're less commonthen 32 or 24 bit.

geez, neverending plight....
Any way, I made a new game and i changed it to 16-bit then i tried to add a 16-bit background but when i looked at the room the background stays black. I converted the background to 256 colors and imported it and it worked fine. How do i let it accept 16-bit backgrounds???

BTW I'm making a Halo game :P

I worked out what was wrong. Under the name box in Objects I put in a script name and it worked properly! Some sort of bug?

Thanks, but i've tried changing the baseline for the walk-behind and the object for a while and it hasnt worked which is why i posted. do i need to reset the tables walk-behind baseline? if so how exactly?

hey,
I have table in the middle of a room which is part of the background, that has a walk-behind mask. I put an object on it but when i test the game it appears (well its hiding behind the table) behind the table. how do i make the object appear on a higher 'layer'?

Also, i used the default template for my game and the 'display text as speech' option, when i go to the inventory screen and 'look' at an inventory object, the text appears behind the inventory box. how do i fix this?

Hi,
Is it possible to script in the arrow buttons and the ALT/CTRL buttons to use instead of/as well as the mouse, to make a platform Duke Nukem style game?
