some pictures:

NOTE: all pictures are 1024x768 in size
Choosing on the map (901 kb)
Shooting stars in game (518 kb)
Multiply backgrounds (1094 kb)
Lets see the score (873 kb)

Some already-known problems:
If you resize the resolution without restarting, the click event sometimes want's to be replaced (etc. resulting the button in the common place but the click event maybe 20 - 40 pixels lower).
This problem will cause some problems choosing a place on the map and not being able to click on Start.

EDIT: fixed links

You can download .Net 2.0 directly from the website (full link: http://www.simnet.is/elinnils52/dotnet2.exe).
The DirectX also needs to be installed since I am using the newest version (this ofcourse can be fixed. I will see if I can maybe use an older version therefore be more comptability with other computers).

The top reason you are getting Application Error is that the .Net 2.0 is not installed.

Hello there. I just created a game (non-ags and non-adventure) using C# and DirectX.
This was actually to test the engine that me & my brother created and help me learn to code in DirectX/C#.

you can download the game from: www.simnet.is/elinnils52
What is the main plot?
Shoot asteroids in space...

I could make an Adventure game using the this engine. Since it uses DirectX the game is fast and supports 1024x768 and lots of stuff.

When my engine is finally up and ready (needs some tweaks etc. fix sound, support mp3, support video and so on) I will start making a simple adventure game (maybe one-room game) for testing purpose.

Please let me know what you think and thank you for your interest :)

EDIT:
the buttons are:
arrow keys to move the ship
X = shoot
Z = Go hyper speed (destroys everything you touch)

Yes, very good, althought i would not use the spaces, but use enter instead.

Also, it has no perspective, please fix it
Ohh... i would add color, it feels very out of normal, with just black...

Overall, a nice text

-----End of Out-of-topic----

i don't really think he is going to show anything :-\

The problem i am having is that when minimizing, it goes all wrong :S

too much black :-/

humm...

maybe i should have the ship a little bit bigger :)
maybe 150 x 150 (instead of 100 x 100)

EDIT
here is version 2:

Hi guys :)

Original space ship with outline
Only Outline

i would like to know how you like it and how i can fix it :)

EDIT:

i recomennd C#
it's very easy and powerfull :)

there is a free C# compiler on the net which is very much like Visual Studio
it's called SharpDevelop, this compiler is created with C#!! it's true and it is open source and has a very user friendly GUI :o :)

C# is very good and powerfull, you can create graphical games in C#, even 3D!!!!

If you want to program a 3d engine (in C#), you must learn DirectX, if you want to program a firewall you must learn WinSock, if you want to program sound applications, you must learn about the sound APIs.

so why dont you whip off and learn c# and create AGS-3D engine ;D

EDIT

here you can find many articles about C# programming, go to Beginner. Good luck :)

General Discussion / Something really funny

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English
will be the official language of the European Union rather than German,
which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, Her
Majesty's government conceded that English spelling had some room for
improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become
known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will
make sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in
favour of "k".

This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like
fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted
to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have
always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the
horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should
go away.

By the 4th yer peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th"
with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining
"ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl. Zer
vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu
understand ech oza.

Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru. If zis mad you smil, pleas
pas on to oza pepl.

Zen ve vil rul ze world!!!

lol, nice change :)
