Let me know what you think, please!

The title for Episode III has been announced.

REVENGE of THE SITH

It's kind of a throw back to "Revenge of The Jedi", no?

Well, here's my guy, going for a low-res Sierra Style - walking holding a sword in kind of a fight mode.Ã,  I drew only five frames so far, and then arranged and repeated them after running the first five in a row.Ã,  He kinda looks like he's cha-cha-cha-ing!Ã,  Any suggestions as I go on?

Hello!

Okay, so I've got this background.

Now I'd like to create the interior to it, using this kind of perspective that I tried to make some idea screens with.  This perspective gives me trouble, as you'll see by my unfinished and horrendous stairs!!!!! But basically, I'd like to create a weird Saloon-type place, with a bar, some tables, and a stair case to a second level.

So, before I progress on, I'd like to get some ideas and help from some of you out there, who are good at these things.
Any other questions let me know, paintovers or demos would be cool too.

Hey, quick question maybe someone can help.

Is there a program that can rip backgrounds from LucasArts games?
I know of costume ripper for the sprites, but I'd like to get backgrounds to study, use, etc.

I find the best way of improving your style is to study the bkg's in great detail.  If not, I guess it's a lot of PrtScrn editing for me, eh?!?

Critics' Lounge / Sierra VGA remade background
Wed 05/05/2004 23:01:37
Hi, this is a background I made for practice of a KQ3 AGI background.  I just made it for shit's&giggles.

I'm trying to improve my ability to edit and make background art for games, so maybe a little C&C or edits, paintovers, whatever.Ã,
This isn't a finished version, I want to do some more, but I figured I'd see what y'all say.

Thanks!

Hey all.  I've been busy working on not only backgrounds, but sprites as well.

Anyway, here's the latest.  I made it from scratch in MsPaint.  I'm going for an early 90's Sierra Style.

Comments?  Paintovers? Etc.  Please let me know...

Here's a new background I worked on today.  I want to add some more stuff, like a "station" house at the end of the dock, and some freight "wood" type boxes laying around, but I was looking for some opinions, new ideas...... comments, criticism, and paintovers welcome.

EDIT: An Update - added a little shack/hut

Critics' Lounge / New Sprite for C&C
Mon 12/04/2004 02:04:27
Hey!

So, I've never really tried to create my own sprite, so I gave it a small run.  I made this in five minutes in MSPaint, and I tried to do the best I could.  I may use him, if I modify and make him better due to advice I get here, or I may just file him away for future use.  Anyways, here is my first sprite attempt.

Any comments or criticism welcome.  I already have one.  His legs suck and are too short. Oh well. I'll fix it later.  I'd like to see what YOU can do for me!

Thanks so much!

Here is a background in progress I'm working on.  I'd like to add more detail and buildings; I just can't come up with anything now.  Any crit, ideas?

There's supposed to be a pier here, but I've only half finished the idea....... it's supposed to be some old docks on the sea.

And some edits

And here's another background I was working on.

Let me know what you think!

Critics' Lounge / Comments on A Background

Here's a background I made today, Bob Ross style.  It's not entirely finished, but this is my first go at doing something from the ground up.  Got to admit, it was a lot of fun.

QUEST FOR INFAMY: So You Want To Be A Villain?

Offical Website: http://www.infamous-adventures.com

Latest Update: 12-02-04

Set in the Speilburg Valley, 20 years after the events of QFG1, you have come from the northern lands of Britannia to escape persecution for some rather unsavory things you did. Ã, After hearing of the death of the Steward of Speilburg Valley and the unrest it has caused, you travel there to set up new residence. Ã, From here, you plot your evil deeds as one of three character classes.

Brigand - Using brute force to steal, work your way into a brigand tribe, and lead them to domination of the valley.

Sorceror - using black magic, bring the Valley of Speilburg under your spell and command, and rule with a dark hand.

Assasin - using your cunning and desire for money, gain influence as a hired gun - eventually, perhaps, becoming steward of the land.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game will be in the style of QFG1 VGA, and feature three different storylines for each of the classes, as well as the "basic" story that all characters follow. Ã, What this means, I suppose, is that the mini-missions and ways to procede differ from character to character, making the game's repeat playability level quite high. Ã, Earn different skills as your "infamy" level gives you more influence and power. Ã, Complete fighting and stats system included.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit:Ã,  Coming up on the one year anniversary of production for Quest For Infamy!!!!

This game is a beast for sure, and we've learned a lot about the design process along the way.Ã,  We are still in production - look for more on this title next year!

Okay, I'm having a small problem - I need to make it so when one character touches another, the player dies.... I've used AreCharactersColliding, but it only works on a certain region.... do I have to set the whole screen as a region to which this pertains, or is there an easier way to do it?

AGS Games in Production / Star Wars - Fan Game
Sun 28/09/2003 16:13:02
Hey, I've been working on my fan game for Star Wars, Episode IV - and I have a demo up and running.  You may download it from www.geocities.com/SWFanGame - that's the site, it has info on the game, it's progress, etc.  Remember this is an early demo, so most of the graphics are temporary and the storyline, plot and puzzles are being worked out.  Any comments welcome!  Thanks.

Hello All!
Realize I seem new here, and this is a hefty message to start off with, but please bear with me.  I have been reading messages here for sometime now, and working by myself, but the time has come for me to enlist and get some help from all the really talented people here.  I am making a fan game, based on Star Wars EPISODE IV.  It's a 3-D Animated Adventure game, in which you take Luke Skywalker from Tatooine to the Death Star to Yavin IV.  I need original artwork, though - check out the website, http://www.geocities.com/SWFanGame for more details and to see the work done.  The game is in primary stages, but with all the help I could get, this could get done.  Remember this is not for profit, yada-yada, and will take some time to complete.  But if you're an artist, and you've got love for Star Wars and some spare time, make a background or two!  Please?  Thanks so much.
