It still blows my goddamn mind that video games have ratings.

I still remember Pac Man being in the arcades!

Read it, enjoyed it a lot but got sort of p*ssed off over the following:

Spoiler

If Snape really turns out to be an evil bastard, I'm going to ritually burn all seven HP books. He's one of the few truly interesting characters in the books IMHO. I think it would just be too easy (in a way) to "write him off" as an evil wizard. Snape deserves better. Harry Potter having to cooperate with a man he really loathes is just so much more interesting than having him save the world with his buddies. Just my 2 cents.

Spoiler

I absolutly agree.Ã,  If Snape truly is evil, it's the easiest deus-ex-machina in the entire series, and it's a stupid way out.Ã,  I'd call shenanigans.

I have to say, I like the enthusiasm in this thread for the game, and Taffytom, your backgrounds have a lot of heart and character to them.  They may not always have the perspective correct, as Zor LOVES to point out, but they have a lot of detail and creativity behind them.

Sometimes, I get real sick of seeing nit-picking posts that simply say "Perspective is Off" and nothing else.  I'm glad Zor posted a picture explaining what he meant, but I feel those nit-picking posts stunt creativity instead of inspiring it.  Taffytom obviously has some talent, let's spend time encouraging people and helping them overcome mistakes, instead of making the self-concious about their work.

You're always going to get older. Ã,  That's never going to stop.

What can stop is your zest for the DAY, and you start worrying about tomorrow. Ã, Then your life becomes about ALWAYS living for the future. Ã, Enjoy the moment. Ã, I'm not talking about freebasing cocaine while driving a stolen Corvette and listening to "The Macarena" - but savor the moments in a day that you enjoy. Ã, If you smoke, enjoy every smoke. Ã, If you drink, enjoy every sip. Ã, If you converse, enjoy every word.

It's like Warren Zevon said just before he died: "Enjoy every sandwich." Ã,

Try not to put off too much for "tomorrow". Ã, For tomorrow may never come.

I don't know where else to turn to...
The problem is my poor English.
I'm trying to find a word to describe an object, a piece of music actually, that has the ability to corrupt.
Any help, please?

Let's see

A demonic piece of music.

An insidious piece of music.

A subversive piece of music.

Hope that helps a bit.

Hey, this game concept is great.  I love Elton's early work.  "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is my favorite album, and "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" is one of my favorite tracks.   My band used to cover it.

I look forward to such an interesting title.

I've read Harry Potter.

I think it's pretty light and fun reading.  Nothing wrong with that, but it's not - say - Tom Robbins.  Or even Voltaire.

Also, I think at this point, JK Rowling could take a steaming shit on a binder full of paper, but a cover on it that says "Harry Potter" and 7 million copies would fly off shelves.

My girlfriend proposed to me once.  She used a twist-tie as a fake ring.  It was cute.  We were really drunk.

I think eventually she wants me to propose.

Shit.

Uh, anyway, for an answer, I'd say go with whatever.  Any choice works - the object is semantics.  Love is the real element.

I don't think I've ever seen a Burton film with shit in it.

You must be thinking of Cliff Burton

Easy mistake. (Though he is rather dead)

I find Tim Burton cliched and pretentious.  But some people like him.  I really thouht Charlie and The Chocolate Factory was his typical steaming pile of shit offering.

Interestingly enough, I liked his version of Planet Of The Apes in moments.  Probably because it wasn't much like his other films.

HOWEVER, I have not seen Big Fish, though through the magic of gifting, I own it.  Many people I know claim that to be a good film.   I want to give it a view.

And why the senseless reference to Cliff Burton?  When he was in the band, Metallica produced a lot of fine music.  Tut tut.

I saw the film today.

Typical steaming pile of Tim Burton shit.  Steaming, over-indulgent shit.

Johnny Depp, however, played his role well.
Kids - great.

Hamfisted artistic senitment and morality - farkin' shit.

Perhaps if one wishes to start a topic in "Games In Production" they have to clear it with a MOD first.  Is that possible?

It will be a 1:1 remake meaning everything is staying the same, well with the exception of course being updated into Point and Click and VGA graphics, not to mention professionally updated music. This shouldn't effect the production of QFI, at least I hope not, that part isn't really my forte. Thanks for the comments though.
If it's a 1:1 version does that mean the spellbook will be the same with the same spells that we have to look up somewhere and follow the directions to theletter and if something isn't capitalised we die like in the original version?

No, the spellbook has been re-done in our version.

You know, this isn't actually a new observation.  This theory has been posited many times before;  but yes, things have gotten slightly inane around here.  But there are still bright points of light.  Like Darth said, maybe there's some growing pains.  I do see a lot of crap in the Critics Lounge, and damnit if there isn't at least one "Hi, I'm new here." thread posted in the Games In Production section that Darth has to lock.  Thank God he's vigilant and capable at that.

There's always going to be the good and the bad on internect chat forums.  Sometimes they reach "terminal regularity" where people get bored easy - and there aren't enough savvy newbies coming in to pick up the slack.
