I have Sleep Apnea.  I use a CPAP.  I've had it since 1998, but since I lost a lot of weight, I don't always use it.  I used it for so long, it became second nature.  It's actually hard for me to fall asleep without it now - I need the soft wooshing sound.  It's like a fan.

Peter,

Again, I want to say how relieved and happy I am for your negative test results.  I'm going to ask for forgiveness on this post, as I am quite drunk at the time of it's writing, and it may be rambling and over emotional.

Living with a "death sentence" delivered from a doctor via a disease isn't the end of the world.  Two years ago, when I was 24, I went from being a mal-adjusted, yet carefree young man to a person diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure (ESRD) or kidney failure.  Basically the doctor told me, as I was hooked up to IV's and various other equipment, that if I didn't undergo an emergency operation to put a cather in my chest and endure dialysis starting the next day, I would die.

Needless to say, I didn't take it well.  My first choice was to say "Let me die" and refuse treatment.  It turned around when my older brother came in and said to me "Tell that to my daughter (1 year old at the time); tell your neice you're not going to be there to see her grow up."  I decided I didn't want to be just a memory in her mind, or in my family and friends mind.  I haven't lived the perfect life, but since that day, I've endured shit that no young person should ever have to.  In addition to all the foibles that being a young adult offers (live, love, careeer, direction, acceptance) I've had to deal with the fact that death breathes down my neck.   Not many people know much about kidney failure, but it kills more people than you would think.  It's not as PR sensitive as cancer or AIDS, but it is just as deadly.  However, there are more treatment options available.  I was lucky enough to have a father with the compassion, courage and ability to donate to me - extending my life.  So I live, with the same bitter pessimistic-optimism I always have, yet I remember each day is a gift.  By all rights, I should be here.  Yet I am - and I get to still be with the people I love, and do the things I love.

Take it as a gift.  Always fo what you love, but never forget the responsibility you have to yourself: To live the best you can.  I wish you the best of luck in life.

No, bt. You did not turn me on. We were on the same ATC team. I just don't believe in work-relationships.

Yeah, that's SO what happened to Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.....

There was a QFG4 original watercolor on Ebay recently.  It sold for upwards of $1,000 US Dollars.

Oh god...

I made an absolute silly little game called "Jodo Quest" a while back, when a user named Jodo Kast made a big stink with his Colonel's Bequest remake.

It's the stupidest AGS game I've ever made.  But at the time it was relavent social commentary.

Reptile, you are a NOOB yourself, no need to be talking about someone when you yourself just signed up here.

Actually, he has some other handles here. I bet he didn't know he could just change your name in the profile.

I just have to say, I don't copy and paste my text into Word to correct it.  I've spent years praticing writing properly and I've (gasped) memorized most of the rules of grammar.  This is how I type - writing properly over time builds practice.  Practice makes perfect!  This entire little blurb took me maybe 30 seconds to write, and I didn't go back and correct it.  It may have an error.  Sue me.  I think it's readable, at least.

I have the IQ of a coconut and the body of a spent Walrus.

Love me.

Fmarais, welcome to AGS.  Trust me, proper grammar and decent writing skills will make you a better communicator around here.

Good luck!

Also, whenever I see this in a post

QuoteThis post was automatically edited for txt-style spelling

I generally* think to myself "This person is a huge moron."  It probably comes from feeling that having a computer filter fix your typing is the ultimate scarlett letter.

* generally meaning most of the time.  Yes, there are a few times when I see it, I disregard it.

Actually, I'm not telling Tanker to NOT to make a Monkey Island fan game.

Rather I'm implying that he take care, caution, time and effort on it.  Don't make it a slapdash effort because you think Monkey Island is cool.  Work on it - a lot.  Write out a script, scenarios - test out jokes on friends and such.  Post some story ideas.  Treat the material with the respect it deserves.  But by all means, make a game!  God, that's what we're all here for, isn't it?

I hate it that Americans must eat everything with a sauce/dressing/gravy... and food doesn't taste that great without them. Can't they make the food taste good and eat things without sauce for once?Ã,  :P

You've obviously never had Buffalo Wings w/ Bleu Cheese Dressing!!!

Personally, I think anyone who can't type out "shut the fuck up" shouldn't be allowed to make a game.

Consider this:

GUYBRUSH:LeChuck!  I'm going to churn your putrid bowels like a Pauly Shore movie!
LECHUCK:Hey man, stfu.

I drink.  I smoke.  I listen to music while drinking and smoking, in the corner of a bar, usually. I don't drink and smoke as much as I used to.  I barely do either now, at least not in the quanitites I would like to.  But a beer and a smoke a night will have to suffice.  Sometimes I play guitar - a little.  Or piano, if the mood strikes me.  I read quite a bit.  I love film, and I watch them constantly.  I also write screenplays, stageplays and comedic bits when I get a chance.  I've directed some short films, I've recorded an album, and I once published a comic book with a friend.  I enjoy long walks off of short piers, and inhaling ocean water through my noses.  I like running backwards, naked, through corn fields.  I also enjoy plowing tobacco fields with my bare hands.  I've been known to collect wax paper wrapping from McDonalds, and I have a teeth collection.  Most are my own from when I was a kid, but once I stole my neighbors dentures.  They're in there too.  I also collect 8Bit NES stuff, but so far, I only have an NES and a copy of 'Rolling Thunder' by Tengen.  I want a banjo, and I have a fiddle.  I write incredibly bad love poetry for everyone except my girlfriend.  My mailbox number is 474, PM me if you wanna chat.

Well, I remember this one time playing football (American - Gridiron) in High School.  My quater back patted me on the ass after I made a good catch.  I didn't think anything of it until he fucked me in the shower later.  He kept saying "Nice catch....."

Yep, whats wrong with that?

A fan enjoys something because it's a quality piece of work.Ã,  They have usually enjoyed playing/watching/listening to said piece multiple times.Ã,  To interpret the game into their own vision, they must understand it in-and-out.Ã,  They don't make a "fan game" because everyone else in said community thinks Monkey Island is cool.

You're a poser, dude.Ã,  You're making a fan game in the hopes that everyone will think you're "cool".Ã,  Sigh, reminds me of school.... You've got a lot of maturation to go through.Ã,  But good luck on making your game.  Hopefully you will learn something from this experience.
