CW - You've been amazing, and nothing but helpful and friendly to me whenever I had a question.  You took on a Herculean Task and did great things.  Thank you, sir. I appreciate everything you've done.

Hey friends.  Just an update on the game project - we've partnered with Phoenix Online with their new publishing division, and they're helping us to release the game!

It'll be available on Steam, GoG.com and Humble... you can check out the new trailer here!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwMNFLKB97c

Also, if you're interested, it's the last week for our Art Book/Hint Guide - you can check it out here.  It will have not only a section to showcase the art from the game, but it also includes a hint and strategy guide - with hints revealed by a Red Decoder!

You can click here to find out more!

It's also the last chance to get a collectors retro style big box - so if you're interested, check it out.

We'll have an announcement with the release date for QFI soon! Thanks to everyone who's supported us - you're all pretty awesome!

Saltwater Taffy - always remember - time is really irrelevant if you want something.  When I was 12, all I wanted to do was "make Sierra games".  Over 20 years later, I'm doing that.  We first had the idea to do a game like "Quest For Infamy" over 10 years ago!  Sometimes things need to wait, but you always stick with it! Keep it in your heart and in your mind.  You're going to be just fine, I think! You've got a good head on your shoulders, and I do really hope you always keep your idea and dream of a game alive.

We raised $63,000 on Kickstarter, but we spent 6 months working on a fully playable demo for our game, and we took great care to make sure our campaign was well presented and taken care of on KS.  It's not just a "whip something up" and hope they come.  You have to put a COPIOUS amount of time and effort into it, before, during and after.

Do not half-ass it if you want to do a Kickstarter.  Do you due diligence and cross your t's and dot your i's.  If you can't do this, right now may not be the right time for you to produce a game and/or run a Kickstarter.

Best of luck to you - my advice is really to keep working at it, until you have something solid to show.

Just imported my game into it with no problems - running smooth and beautifully!  Thanks to all who worked on this; it's amazing.

Thanks guys!

"Blackthorne". I got curious to who it was and clicked on backers info and saw your avatar! And thought "Wow... that's a familiar face"

Heh. I got my mug all over the 'net much already! Haha, but I am very excited for the project - and I'm excited to see the score! Best of luck to everyone involved with your project; I'll be sure to mention it in one of our KS updates as well!!

Hopefully we could have a walkthrough somewhere.  I'm reluctant to play through intense adventures without some idea of where to go.

My philosophy of games like this is "Know before you go."

Hahah. Wow.  This is so foreign to me! I just mean my approach to games is the complete opposite - it's about discovery, jumping in blind and finding my way out!  So different!

Anyway, I'm sure in time someone will do a walkthrough for ya.

Thank you sir! I thought so, but I just wanted to check! I appreciate all your hard work, by the way.

Hey, quick question - hoping someone has an answer.  I'm probably overlooking something, but I need the collective knowledge base here.

Why aren't my portraits showing up as alpha blended sprites? The edges are not blending the way I expected them to.  They're imported correctly, and when displayed as an object, they alpha blend - why don't portraits?

You know, either getting rid of WinSetup completely or making it so you can create a custom WinSetup would be ideal.  I know there was a discussion some ways back about making a custom WinSetup application - but I really would like the option, in game, to decide windowed or full-screen, or set resolutions, etc.

Yeah, Tass Times in Tone Town! I loved that game - I played it on the Apple IIgs.  It's still out there, somewhere, but I don't want to link.  It's a shame it's kind of forgotten; it was a really "rad" 80's game.

I'm having a problem with Alpha-Blended sprites as portraits - we have portraits in the game that have no backgrounds - the sprites are alpha blended, and if used as an object, they appear correct with their anti-aliased edges, but as portraits there is artifacting around the edge.

I just don't find the whole "Vampyre Story" to be that engaging of a story or adventure game.  I like Bill Tiller, though.  Sometimes your concept just isn't as appealing as you'd like it to be, I guess.

Yeah, I planned on having them as blocked actions, heh, I knew that much at least.  And I figured I'd have to have a view with the up and down switched.

Thanks for the help, Snarky.  I appreciate it.

I'm sure this has been asked before.  In fact, I know it has - I looked it up, and found some threads (6-9 years old!) about it, but I wanted to ask again here, because I'm sure you fine people know how to do this properly.

I have a background that has multiple hills in the background - how would I program my ego walking down the hill, behind it, and reappearing in the "distance" on the hill behind that?  I know there's multiple ways to do this, but I wanted to see what the best way to accomplish this might be.

Awesome, thanks a lot. Works perfectly. :)
I remember the developer mentioning that possibility, but he seemed to be against it. So all the more thanks for making this available!

The Space Quest II remake still won't let me enter a name for the save game, though. Bummer :)

Hmm.  I wonder why that is.  If there's anything I can do to adjust to help fix that for Android, let me know.  (My group made that.)
