The premise doesn't sound bad, if you handle the story well.  I like the screenie, too.  Good luck with the game.

My only suggestion would be to rename the character "The One".  Sounds a little TOO Matrix-y which is weird, cause the overal plot is very Matrix-y.  Perhaps you should call him something like The Creator, or The Man.

Heh.  Good luck, sir!

Hehe.  Right on Blackbird.

It'll be done when it's done, but check out website frequently to obtain updates.  We'll probably post more there - and have other promotional materials for you.

Right now, Vel, I believe we will have both a MIDI and .ogg soundtrack for KQIII

You can borrow some of lucasfan's work.

Vel, LucasFan is working with us on this project for a while.

We are making basically a 1:1 remake, no plot additions ala KQ2VGA, but perhaps removing some dead end situations is a possibility.

I know you're a big Sierra fan, Vel, so I promise to take real good care of this production!

Hate needles, huh?Ã,  Try dialysis. They stick TWO 14 gauge needs in your arm to draw all the blood in your body into a machine that cleans it.

For graphic pictures of the actual process click here for more information

The info on the website states that our remake is a 1:1 remake, so it's more like KQ1VGA in that respect.

We've added dialogue pictures and closeups for some of the dialogue portions of the script, but we have not changed or added any details like KQ2VGA+.

About Radiant's project - he and I talk quite frequently, so we know about each others projects. Ã,  ;D

Heh, and no, QFI's production will not be slowed by this production. Ã, We have seperate scripters for each game, while some memebers of the art team work both projects!

Well, if anyone remembers the thread a while back, about weird medical experiences, you'd know that I suffer from Chronic Glomular Nephritits, which is now an End Stage Renal Disease.  Meaning that both my native kidneys in my body have failed (Either dead, or less that 10% of the nephrons functioning).

Kidney diesease is pretty awful, and I never thought it would happen to me.  It clouds my life a bit, having to undergo dialysis for about a year was tough.  But, there are people that are on dialysis for years, and I was lucky enough to undergo a Kidney Transplant about a year after my diagnosis (and near death experience!).  My father donated one of his kidneys to me, which was incredibly generous of him considering I'm a lazy pontificating bastard - but seriously, I got a chance that some people wait YEARS for, or never get at all.

The transplant hasn't been perfect, and there has been lots of problems, but I haven't had to do dialysis since November of 2003.  Dialysis is awful.  When I think about it...... it makes me shudder.  Anyway........ along with all the typical dramatic bullshit that goes along with such an event, there's been plenty of funny stories about it too.  Makes for an interesting life, that's for sure!

I took a try to make them like Sierra VGA backgrounds, 320x200....

Plenty of pixels and noise.  Heh.

Color reduction, mostly.  Few graphical touch ups and texture additions.

This game is not cancelled.

Quote from: RadiantOh and yes, KQA is still with our KQ2.5 project. Which is still going steady, in case people were wondering, only (like AGDI) we don't believe in posting overly many updates.

maybe it is because he blends sierra graphics with his graphics. They do not blend so well in this example.
For example the mountain (which is the most detailed) is a rip from
KQ6 Isle of the Sacred mountain, while the path trees, rocks are his.
The path looks like painted on the mountain and does not look so realistic.

Yes, I'm having problems with the path on the rocks; perhaps shading in the right places would give it a better feel - as if it's placed on it.Ã,

Yes, parts of the picture are collaged, not neccessarily ripped, but they are used as textures to give the picture the feel of Sierra VGA stuff.Ã,  The rocks are from other various KQ games, and the trees use texture of some trees from King's Quest 6.Ã,  The trees are my biggest concern, as they were just direct paintovers of the original.  In my final version, I hope to have them look more realistically coniferous.

It's working on the intergration of all these factors that I'm trying to accomplish here, and if in posting you want to point out where things were taken from, I'm afraid your wasting text - I always say that I collage from other Sierra pictures.Ã,  But this isn't to really expunge my artistic talent, merely a way for me to get better at making VGA pictures so I can pursue remakes.Ã,  Being that remakes are soley meant to entertain, I have no problem collaging.

QuoteAh yes, also, sorta what blackbird said. The path looks kinda flat as in it is a walkway sticking out of the rock, instead of actally being supported by the rock.

Ah, yeah..... there IS not rock support there!  I'll correct that, no problem.

QuoteWhere are those BKGS, Bt?

Hollister Man, the BKGS I had were in a 17 meg file..... I think I'm gonna break that up into smaller segments, then upload them on my server.Ã,  I haven't heard from you in a while, so I was wondering what's up?

Here's an AGI to VGA background conversion I have done.

Let me know what you think, please!

Mats,

I quickly added some textures to the colors on the map - all in like 5 minutes, but just an idea to give some "more" to the map!  Happy gaming!

Third, disregarding all the games after "A Link To The Past" because of its cool factor is silly. The Gameboy/Gameboy colors expand on that style extremely well if you are so stuck in that look and those style of puzzles.

It's not really the style, per se.  I just consider a Link to the Past to be the Pinnacle of the series, before it really delved into Fanboy fantasy, so for me I leave it there.  I'm not saying anyone's an ass-clown for liking the games beyond that, however!  My enjoyment of the series would be diminished after that, so I leave it in my memory, beloved like a teddy bear.
